Opal is both beautiful and sweet, but we have learned that the best home for her would be with a single woman with no other pets. Opal loves her human completely and she simply doesn’t want to share. She is extremely possessive. Not to the point where she bites but she growls and barks a lot and that does not make for a peaceful home life for anyone. Opal is fun and playful and affectionate with her person. She loves to go for walks and rides in the car and she’s good with other dogs as long as her person doesn’t want to love on them. Then she growls them away. Opal is spayed, UTD required vaccines and his heartworm negative. She is house trained, but might have an accident or two until she settles in. We just have to find that “right“ home for this precious girl. She would truly be someone’s very best friend. Story
Meet Honey – Your Regal, Ball-Loving, Blanket-Burrowing Queen! 👑🐾 Honey isn’t just a dog—she’s a full-on personality. This fabulous girl is looking for a home with someone who gets her, preferably an experienced handler who appreciates a dog with a bit of sass and a lot of opinions. She’s obsessed with toys, especially balls, and she takes her playtime very seriously—like, “I might defend this toy with my life” seriously. Because of her strong personality and resource-guarding tendencies, she’s best suited for an adult-only home where people respect her boundaries (translation: don’t try to take her toy unless you have a trade deal worthy of a diplomat). Honey is an adventure-loving, nosy little explorer who will absolutely climb on whatever she can to satisfy her curiosity. She enjoys walks—unless it’s snowing or raining, in which case, no thank you. She’s mostly house-trained as long as you stay on schedule. And while she got along with her foster’s dog and two cats, she did have a little too much fun chasing the cats (not out of aggression, just… enthusiasm). Her quirks aside, Honey is a total lovebug once she trusts you. She lives for snuggles and will happily burrow under the blankets with you at night. But if you’re not into that? No problem—she’ll graciously settle into her own bed. Oh, and one of her absolute favorite activities? Rolling down hills. Yes, really. Grass, rugs, the road—she’s rolling. If you’re looking for a dog with personality, a little sass, and a whole lot of love, Honey might just be your perfect match. Ready to win over a queen? 👑💕 If you are interested in finding out more about Honey, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Honey is being fostered in Millbury, MA. The adoption fee is $500. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
Meet Liberty—36 pounds of pure bulldog charm with a side of “I need to get to know you first.” This 1-year-old French/English Bulldog mix may play it cool at first, but give her a little time, and she’ll be your ultimate cuddle buddy. Before coming to her current foster home, Liberty was living in a car, so she’s still adjusting to the luxuries of indoor life. She’s mostly house-trained but might have an occasional accident if you miss her potty signals (cut her some slack—she’s still figuring out that carpets aren’t grass). She’s a social butterfly with other dogs, from tiny 2-pounders to 130-pound giants, and she’s got four kid roommates (ages 1, 5, 7, & 9) that she does great with. She’s also an A+ adventure buddy—whether on-leash or off-leash, she’s a fantastic hiker who will happily hit the trails with you. And when she’s not out exploring, she’s busy collecting her prized possessions: toys and sticks (the bigger, the better). If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly pup who just needs a little patience to blossom, Liberty is your girl! 🚗➡️🏡💖 If you are interested in finding out more about Liberty, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Liberty is being fostered in Milford, MA. Story
Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet.Roxie Rose is a 3 year old female Frenchie that is overweight at 24 pounds because someone really spoiled her with human food in her previous home.  She needs to lose about 5 pounds.  But she is a very happy girl and she simply adores being around people.  For sure she is a velcro dog, she follows you everywhere especially the kitchen in hopes of you dropping some food for her. Roxie Rose had a home but they could not provide the care she needed for dog wounds, a cherry eye and a hematoma in her right ear.  All of her medical needs have been addressed and she does not need any medications or medical attention now.  She is still healing from her cherry eye surgery and has a follow up appointment on Wednessday, November 20.  She can go to her new home after her vet appointment. We are taking applications for her now.  If you are interested in adopting Roxie Rose, please submit an application on the website below. Oh yeah, if you want a dog to walk with you Roxie Rose is not that girl, she will walk just a few steps and stop to be picked up.  She walks great on a leash while she has her harness on but she is not a fan of exercise!!  She does like to watch TV, she really pays attention to the shows. These pictures are of her before her surgery and the day of her surgery.  We will get more pictures of her.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls.  We will reply to you.  Thank you.         November 17, 2024, 12:44 pm
