You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hi there! I'm Emery, a lovely French Bulldog, and I'm on the hunt for my forever home. I weigh about 25 pounds and am about 5 years old—a lady never tells her real age! Let me tell you a bit about myself and why I could be the perfect addition to your family! I'm a sweetheart with a bit of a shy side. Loud noises and lots of commotion can be a bit much for me, so I like to find a cozy, enclosed spot to feel safe. I've been living with my foster family for about a month now, and I've gotten appropriately rambunctious with the other Frenchies in the house. When things are calm, you'll find me quietly gnawing on a Nylabone, seated right beside you. Car rides aren't really my thing, so I tend to run when it's time for the daily trip to the coffee shop drive-thru. I prefer the comfort of home. But otherwise, outside, I love walking or laying around. Want to know a little quirk about me? I prefer to go potty on flat surfaces like concrete, decking, or stones rather than grass. I mean, who wants wet paws from that green stuff anyway, right? We are also working on leash training, but I do require a fenced yard in my forever home. I am a quick little Frenchie so a fence will keep me safe. I absolutely adore Nylabones with interesting shapes. Some of my favorite treats include Happy Howies, peanut butter on lick mats, deli turkey, ground turkey, and raw food. I like my kibble soaked in water—it’s easier for me to lap up that way. My long tongue can be a bit tricky with small treats, so sometimes I have to throw my head back to catch them! So consider it a little show you get when I get some treats! I'm pretty close to being potty trained, especially when I'm on a good schedule. When it comes to my crate, I’m a bit vocal at first, especially when I see my humans leave, but I calm down once I know you're nearby. I’ve been known to howl a bit when my people leave. At night, I settle quickly in my crate and have even started to enjoy it during the day as a quiet spot. With some patience I will get it all figured out about the crate. Some things to know about me: I love cuddling and will push up against you or drape myself over you while you're watching TV or reading. I also enjoy starting a good chase with my Frenchie friends. My super long tongue never quite fits in my mouth, making me look like a cute little "Q"! I'd love to be part of a family who can give me lots of love, attention, and a bit of patience as I continue to learn and grow. If you think I could be the perfect fit for your home, I can't wait to meet you and start our new adventure together! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   Bulldogs are a member of the Brachycephalic breed and therefore have a host of health issues that may arise.  Because these dogs are new into our rescue, health issues in the future may arise that we are not aware of.  Some of these issues are allergies, eye issues, yeast infections, interdigital cysts, slipped disks in their back, breathing problems, among a host of others that can occur at any time or when seasons change. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure the breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average bulldog owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs.     Bulldogs are one of the most expensive dogs to own, maintain, and rescue and our adoption fees reflect such expenses.  The application process for bulldogs usually moves quite quickly as they are a popular breed, so we ask that adopters do research and be prepared for adoption at the time you submit your application.  They are happy, goofy, playful characters and we are excited you are taking the first steps into rescuing one!   This dog requires an application fee.  This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. Bulldog Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the bulldog. Our goal is place bulldogs in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the bulldog, we will not approve your application. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!       Hello, my name is Eagle and I am the perfect puppy mix of energy and snoozes – hee hee! I’m just a puppy still so I’m full of energy bursts and follow those up with naps.  Do I have a favorite thing?  Not really – I love everything and everyone!   No need for another dog in the home or a fenced yard. We’ll have lots of time to learn the ropes and I’m mostly quiet in the kennel, whining at first but getting better all the time. I’m practicing on the leash so let’s keep it going!  I like adventures. I do know “sit” but I’m sure you can think of other things you’d like to teach me. We are also working on potty training, and with a little more practice this little puppy will have it figured out. I like treats so we can practice having you give me those when I go potty.  (Do you like how I suggested that?!)   When I came to Underdog I had that pesky Giardia thing, I got some meds, and a second dose, but we might need to do a fecal recheck when I get home with you, just to be sure! I can be an only dog but I also enjoy being around other dogs too.  There are other Frenchies and a Bulldog here and they love me. Well… everyone luvs me! I hope you like me and go fill out the application so I can start my journey to having my very own forever home! *I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!       Hello my fans! I’m Frisbee! I give you me, the goodest boy with the bestest behavior and Frenchie persona around. I could be biased but I don’t think so.  I’ve seen some of my kind and they aren’t as awesome as I am – hee hee! Can you believe I’ve already mastered potty training and even am crate trained.  I’d rather be with you, of course but sometimes, I get that I can’t be. I like friendly dogs and I don’t need one in my forever spot. But while I’m here, I like having the zoomies with the other dogs and chasing around the yard.  And if you’re gone a lot, I’d like one to hang out with. I do need a fenced yard, simply because even though I’ve walked on a leash, I refuse to consistently go potty on a leash.  We all have our quirks, right? I’ve been working on commands like “come, kennel and go potty.”  But I like toys the best. Well, second to food, that is. I live up to my name because I truly LOVE the frisbee the best. Foster parents think I’d do great in some type of sport/activity because of that. As long as food is the reward, I’m sure you’ll find I can do almost anything!  I’m definitely a sweet dude and will look forward to lots of snuggles and you’ll find me very entertaining. Win win!! *I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!       Hi friends, Dune here! I’m a young Frenchie man and foster mom says that I’m a “great pup!” I’m still taking in this new world here, after spending time with my breeder before coming  to Underdog. I missed out on some socialization things, but I’m making up for that lost time. I’m very food motivated, so I can’t wait to start a puppy socialization class with you and keep learning. crate training is going well and I sleep in there at night and when the humans leave.  They work from home, so I’m not left alone too often, but make no noises when in there. I sleep all night long and can’t wait to see you in the morning.  I love eating food and that also makes mornings fun. I don’t know how to ask to go outside yet, but every time we go out, I go potty! I’ve got a pretty predictable schedule which helps, too! I don’t mind wearing a harness, but that leash thing is still pretty weird. I have a fenced in yard here and love getting the zoomies in it, but I know we can master leash training together with practice, if you don’t. I still have a few accidents, but for a pup, it doing quite well! I’d prefer my humans not be gone for an 8+ hour workday as I do enjoy spending time with you and make a great office companion happily snoozing at your feet while you work.  When I came to Underdog I had that pesky Giardia thing, I got some meds, and a second dose, but we might need to do a fecal recheck when I get home with you, just to be sure! I live with two French bulldogs now and they’ve taught me all about wrestling and bitey face and we have some good races around the house. I am an expert cuddler and do just about anything I see the other dogs doing - or what the humans want me to do like cuddling on the couch. I haven’t met any cats or young kids, but should be good with both. I don’t need another pup in my forever home, but sure would love it. If you don’t, I’d love to make dog friends and play often! I enjoy a good home and squeaky toy, too.  I did great at a winery and love going for car rides and checking out this new world!  I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hi there! My name is Scarlet, and I'm a 6-year-old French Bulldog. I weigh about 20 pounds, and I’m ready to find my forever home! I have a super social and friendly personality. I love everyone I meet, both humans and dogs of all sizes! Whether we're at home or out and about, I'm always happy to make new friends. I’m a loving companion who thrives on praise and affection. I even have a funny little dance that will make you smile! I'm happiest wherever you are. Whether we’re going for a walk or taking a ride in the car, I’m just excited to be with you. I'm making great progress on my potty training!  I’ve got my crate training down, and I know several obedience commands: Sit, Come, Kennel/Crate, a command for "Outside," and Go Potty. I don’t need a fenced yard because I walk nicely on a leash for my potty breaks and exercise. I do fine without another dog in the house, but I enjoy the company of my foster sibling and like to follow her around. Watching her helps me learn, especially with my potty training. Positive reinforcement works wonders for me! I do have a little quirk: when I’m first left alone, I might bark or howl for a minute, but then I settle down. Like many bulldogs, I've got some allergies. My toes are itchy and my ears were very swollen. I am now on a raw diet with added supplements and we are seeing improvements. I also enjoy epsom salt soaks on my little paws - that feels so nice. I will need a forever home who is committed to keeping up my homeopathic allergy regime so I can be as healthy as possible! If you’re looking for a loving, fun, and friendly companion who will brighten your days, look no further. I’m Scarlet, and I can’t wait to meet you! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Keep checking back for upcoming events I will be attending!    Hi there! I'm Elmer, but know the name Vinny. I'm a 9-year-old Frenchie, and I weigh around 40 pounds. Let me tell you a bit about myself. First and foremost, I absolutely adore my humans. I’m a cuddle bug who loves to follow my people around the house. I never let them out of my sight. If you're sitting in a chair or working in the office, I'll be right there, lying in my dog bed or on the floor next to your feet. And if you sit or lie on the couch, I’ll be up there with you, making sure I’m touching you. I don't jump, I climb up carefully. I have a few favorite things that make my tail wag. I love treats, especially when I get to go into my kennel. I also enjoy playing with balls, soft toys, squeaky toys, and bones. I love chasing basketballs. I think I can fit them in my mouth, and I will chase them as long as you let me! I’m potty trained on a routine and good if we stick to it. Speaking of outside, I don’t need a fenced yard because I walk nicely on a leash for my potty breaks and exercise. I can comfortably walk about a mile or less, making me a great companion for shorter walks. I know some cool commands too: Sit, Stay, Come, and Leave It. Also, I am great overnight in the kennel and don’t mind sleeping in sometimes. I have to admit, I can be a bit possessive of my humans around other dogs, so I’d do best as the only dog in the house. I promise to be all the companion you need. If you do have other pups, I'd do best with those that are low key like me. Barky, playful ones - not my jam.  It would be best if my forever home understand that I have the potential to resource guard my people so will need to be reminded that not everyone is mine.  I really like making them happy, so this shouldn't be a big issue if you keep helping me with my training. You might notice my cute little quirk—I’m missing some front teeth, so sometimes my lips stick to my gums, showing my teeth, and occasionally my tongue sticks out. It’s pretty adorable if I do say so myself! As an older gentleman, my kidneys are not as high functioning as they once were.  I was recently diagnosed with stage 2 kidney disease.  As long as you take good care of me and feed me an appropriate diet to help my kidneys not work overly hard, there is no reason  I won’t continue to have a normal lifespan.  I’m an easygoing and laid-back kind of guy. I’d be perfect for an elderly couple or someone who works from home because I LOVE being with my humans. If you're looking for a loyal, loving, and low-maintenance friend, I’m your guy!   * Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.
