Story
This beautiful girl came to us when her owner moved to Tennessee and was unable to find a place to live that allowed pets. Both Opal and her owner were heartbroken. Opal is a one and a half year old purebred white and fawn French bulldog. She weighs 22 pounds and she is now spayed, up-to-date on required vaccines, heartworm tested negative and micro chipped. She is a healthy little girl looking for her forever home. She is house trained, and she gets along ok with other dogs, but definitely wants to be the center of attention so she would do well with another laid-back dog or as an only dog. She is great with kids. If you would like to be sweet Opal’s hero, please email omlc7@hotmail.com or dogs4mylife@gmail.com and we will send our information and application. PLEASE NOTE THAT A LOT OF OUR RESPONSES GO TO JUNK MAIL SO IF YOU DO NOT SEE A RESPONSE FROM US, PLEASE CHECK YOUR JUNK/SPAM FOLDER.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hey, I'm Mimosa! True to my namesake, I'm a demure girl ;) I enjoy a good Saturday brunch and hanging out with my people.  Toys and playing with other pups is new for me, but OH so much fun! I have been known to throw around a few good toys and show my silly Frenchie personality.  I will protect you against those pesky vacuum cleaners, but really only bark when alarmed or guarding against vacuums.  I like to cuddle and be around my humans, although I can sometimes still be timid with new things.   Speaking of Frenchie things, I do have double luxating patellas in my back legs.  They are not causing me pain, nor slowing me down right now, so I am not a candidate for surgery, at this time.  That may change as I get older, but for now I should be kept at a healthy, skinny, weight and be given some joint supplements to prolong that need for surgery.  I am now running around and gaining muscle in my back legs, which might also help!  You see, before I met my friends at Underdog, I lived in a kennel with a breeder and didn't get to stretch out too much.  I'm making up for lost time by checking out this new world now! Oh, and those stair things - still learning those. I do a few to get outside, but going up a full staircase hasn't been something I mastered yet. I don't need a fenced in yard as that leash thing is kinda fun and I like checking out the neighborhood. I do need to be leashed anytime when outside, though, as I don't know a recall.  I am crate trained and keep it clean and am quite in there while you are away.  I a doing great with my potty training and do well on a schedule.  I am good with kids (respectful ones) and other dogs, too! I haven't yet met any kitties, but they seem like they would be ok.  One thing to work on, not picking up my own poo - foster mom says I no longer need to clean up myself, so we are working on that! I'm a gorgeous girl who's ready for a forever, is that with you? *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   Bulldogs are a member of the Brachycephalic breed and therefore have a host of health issues that may arise.  Because these dogs are new into our rescue, health issues in the future may arise that we are not aware of.  Some of these issues are allergies, eye issues, yeast infections, interdigital cysts, slipped disks in their back, breathing problems, among a host of others that can occur at any time or when seasons change. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure the breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average bulldog owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs.  Bulldogs are one of the most expensive dogs to own, maintain, and rescue and our adoption fees reflect such expenses.  The application process for bulldogs usually moves quite quickly as they are a popular breed, so we ask that adopters do research and be prepared for adoption at the time you submit your application.  They are happy, goofy, playful characters and we are excited you are taking the first steps into rescuing one!  This dog requires an application fee.  This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. Bulldog Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the bulldog. Our goal is place bulldogs in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the bulldog, we will not approve your application. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs. Visit this link  www.underdogrescuemn.com/donate   to donate.  (Please note: A Paypal account is not necessary to use Paypal. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please complete  an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about our adoption process, please visit our Adoption Process page on our website at www.rescuecrew.org. Hi there future family! My name is Nyla and I am a beautiful Frenchie gal, I am a super sweet girl who has loved all the people that I have met so far! Although my foster mom did say that she thinks I would be best in a home with older children. Every since I have come into rescue I have been learning new things everyday and becoming more and more of a good girl! I am crate trained and am quiet as a mouse when in it. I have a foster sibling at home right now and we love to play together although sometimes I get super caught up in it and need to be reminded that I need to be gentle and not so aggressive. My foster mom and I have been working on redirecting me when I get overstimulated and although I am making progress, right now might not be the best time for me to have a full time canine companion.  Cats however.... Love them and I love to play with them! I had some skin issues that we were able to get cleared up since being on a nice diet and medicated baths and got the all clear from the vet this week! I sure will miss getting those bubble baths so often nothing like a nice soak in the tub after a long day of cold weather and playing with toys. I am not a huge fan of the cold or snow  so I make my walks and potty breaks as quick as possible! I do enjoy my vest and look so stylish in it! I am working hard on potty training and always pee outside but still use a potty pad for number 2 sometimes. In the short time that I have been with my foster mom I have learned a lot of new tricks! I can sit, wait, Lie down, and shake! Pretty impressive if I do say so myself!  So if you are looking to add a beautiful, smart, spunky, fun loving girl to your home I might just be her!  Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.   The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online forms here as well.  u can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. Story
Hi, my name is Mable, I am from Alabama. From her foster: Mable is a shy girl initially, she takes some time to warm up to new people. Once she gets to know you she turns into absolute sweetheart! This girl does have a voice and she isn’t afraid to use it when she wants something. While not too fond of snuggling in your lap she does like to be close to the person she trusts. She is a very curious girl! She’s been good with dogs, cats and other small animals with proper slow introductions. Mable has been great with kids over 5 in my home. She is still working on refreshing potty training skills but doing well on a routine. Her favorite time is every time she sees the leash! Mable really enjoys her walks outside and investigating all the smells. She does know some basic commands but can be a bit stubborn to work for free, treats please! Mable might benefit from having another doggie friend in the home as she seems much more confident with a companion. A small relaxing space to heal and recover. Mable would do best in a home that can give her time and patience. A home with older or considerate children would be best as she seems to get nervous around loud, fast or sudden movements. She is on daily medications and will have some ongoing appointments for heart worm and a leg injury. From the vet team: I arrived at The Bond Between with a prior leg and tail injury. This was evaulated by an orthopedic surgeon and determined it was healing and I will need continued rest and a recheck x-ray at the end of my healing period. I also am being treated for heartworm disease and will need to be on monthly heartworm prevention for the rest of my life. I can be adopted while my leg heals and my heartworm treatment is being complete and the heartworm treatment and recheck x-rays will be covered by The Bond Between as long as they are completed at The BB Vet Center.

Story
Frankie is a 4 year old French bulldog, massif mix. She looks like a puppy massif. She is a sweetheart, as long as she is the only pet. Great with kids, recommend 5 or older and love her owner. She is potty trained and loves walks, however is happy hanging out at home. She needs to be the only pet and does not like other dogs. She is up to date on shots, has been fixed. Recently had surgery due to swallowing a rope, has recovered excellent with no known long term problems. Recommend bones and hard toys. No stuff animals. If you are looking for a calm dog that loves to hang out in the couch and watch TV this is your girl.
