Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application HEADLINER: Princess Peach  HISTORY: Peach was found wandering by a Good Samaritan. She was microchipped, owners had given her away and new owner never returned messages. She was not reported missing and was held for stray hold. Her eye was removed due to an old injury after coming in to foster care.                     PERSONALITY: As most French Bulldogs, Peach has a fluid temperament. She very much responds to things with the energy she is presented with. She is outgoing and a great watch dog. She knows there are rules but if she doesn’t feel like following them, she doesn’t. Friendly with all people, definitely prefers to be your personal assistant all day, every day. Peach has done well with my dog savvy cat, may chase one if it was reactive but is not aggressive and easily can be redirected. She has done well around chickens. She doesn’t trust horses and will endlessly bark obscenely in their direction. As for dogs, she LOVES her young Boxer brother. They play all day, sharing toys and bones and gnawing on each others appendages. That doesn’t mean she doesn’t tell him off whenever she feels like it, she definitely does. She has 2 other large male foster brothers. She is completely indifferent to one and torments the other. Peach is dog selective and will start a fight with a dog she doesn’t like. She has not met any female dogs at this point. The foster brother she doesn’t like is very sweet and passive. It’s a mystery as to why she dislikes him so much. She prefers to not be alone outside or she will not do her “business”. True to her breed she will potty in the house if she feels like it. This is infrequent, maybe one time a week but it is obvious she was not given clear directions on this in her previous homes.  FAVORITE ACTIVITIES: Peach loves to play with her best friend Gordy the Boxer puppy. She is a fabulous snuggler and supervisor of any projects you may choose to take on. Also, Peach gets a fair amount of enjoyment pulling her humans hair. She will definitely stand on top of you to hold you down and happily yank as much hair as she can. She is not above a sneak attack either. MEDICAL ISSUES: No known medical conditions. However being a French Bulldog please educate yourself on Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD), the breed is HIGHLY prone to this issue. Also this breed needs special consideration in heat because they are unable to regulate their body temperature like other breeds that do not have flat faces. She is not a candidate for long walks.  WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF HOME: Given Peach’s dog selective behavior, it would be easier for her to go in to a home with no other dogs. She is capable of having a good relationship with a dog that she likes which seems to be a dog that is confident and non-reactive to another dog’s “snarky attitude”. Basically she needs a chill dog friend if she is to have one, and definitely needs to meet that dog prior to adoption. She does fine in a crate as long as you make sure she has done ALL her “business” before being crated. She loves people A LOT, so she would really like to be included and smooched as much as possible.  ADDITIONAL COMMENTS : Breed experience would be a big plus for Peach.     Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include but are not limited to pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed. Story
Location: Dayton, OH Food: Ancient Grains - Salmon, Lamb with beef bone broth Medication: Monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention Allow us to introduce you to the sweetest, silliest, happiest, cuddle-bug of all time, Leroy. He is a ridiculously handsome Fluffy French Bulldog who was a breeder surrender so it took a few days for him to come out of his shell but when he cracked that shell, out came the best boy! Leroy LOVES his foster family and wants to be near them at all times. Foster mom has quickly learned that even privacy taking a shower is a luxury of the past because Leroy is ALWAYS there staring at her and waiting patiently for hugs and pets! He's a huge fan of ear scratches and belly rubs. He loves visitors too! He just loves, loves, loves people and because he's so cute and has the most adorable smile and fluffy Frenchie booty, he always gets attention wherever we go and he's there for it 100%! Leroy is great with other dogs and has no dog or food aggression with one exception- ice cubes!! He thinks ice cubes are a gift from the gods and he'll protect an ice cube he gets against all of the surrounding enemies trying to steal his cold treasure! Just a simple growl is all he gives and he listens really well when you redirect him! He really loves little kids too and is so gentle with them even if he gets excited and jumps up, it's always a gentle approach. He is literally the softest dog I've ever felt and everyone that's come in contact with him says the same thing. His fur color is so unique and beautiful that it reminds me of the color women in the 70's would spend a fortune at the beauty salon trying to replicate the color even though the color never really existed in human hair anyway. He also has the most beautiful and unique golden eye color that is simply stunning! This guy LOVES to play! He loves his toys (he really didn't know what to do with them when he first joined us) and will just walk around the house or the yard with his stuffed elephant or money just dangling from his mouth. His absolute favorite activity to do is chasing an oversized beach ball! That's when the real fun is happening- for both him and all the spectators involved. He is hit or miss right now on fetch as he brings the ball back sometimes and sometimes he runs to it and then just kinda waits there, which btw he's super cute when he's doing that too! He enjoys playing with other dogs too of any size and although I feel he would do better with a doggie sibling, it's not a total deal breaker if he would be the only dog as long as his family understand that he will be stuck on you like glue and you should be sure to invest allot of money in oversized beach balls to keep him occupied. He has not been around cats in our home so I couldn't say he's definitely "cat friendly but he really hasn't had much of an interest as we've passed them by. We have worked with him quite a bit off leash outside in the front yard and he does well. I always stay out there with him and redirect him if he gets close to the street. He listens well and comes right back close to me. We have a fenced in backyard that he also loves to explore so I would definitely say this guy needs a yard to play in for sure! He has the perfect amount of energy in my opinion as he can be so happy to play, play, play but the next second he's taking a Power Nap and snoring! His diet is pretty simple thankfully and he doesn't seem to have any extreme allergies. He eats Ancient Grains Bison, Lamb, Salmon with a little beef bone stock mixed in. He's a really good eater too! Although we were fully committed to a successful decompression when Leroy first came to us, he made it very clear that the crate was not the place he wanted to be. So because we were committed to setting him up the right way, we stuck it out for over 2 weeks and he was pretty good about calming down when we gently said "No Leroy. After 2 weeks and at the time we felt he was feeling settled, we brought his bed into our room and he sleeps on that as our dog sleeps on his bed in our room too. Leroy goes right to bed when we go up and sleeps perfectly fine through the night. For the most part someone is usually home so the dogs aren't left home alone that long except for us going to dinner or errands. I don't think he would do well if he was left in a crate for 8-10 hours everyday. He loves his people too much! He is great on car rides. But he's more of an observer of what's out the window vs sticking his head out and into the wind like our little dog does. He is house trained but does have occasional accidents still. We are continuing to work on this with him and giving him outside breaks more often. All in all, Leroy is an amazing, loving, sweet Frenchie that will make any home a happier place! We couldn't possibly love this dude more!!

Story
Hello, this is Coco. She is 4 years old, she is deaf but that does not stop her from being a regular loving, playful dog. My allergies to her are getting worse as the time passes. Because of her being deaf we do suggest a fenced yard. She is ok with dogs as long as they come to her established home. On a leash and outside she is aggressive to dogs. She is perfect with our cat and our little ones. We even have stray cats that hop the fence and she never bothers them. Please reach out to me if you think you can give her the perfect home.

Story
Meet Pork Roll! Pork Roll lives up to her name: she’s built like an egg roll and she snorts like a pig.  Pork Roll came to us from puppy mill country. She likely has lived her life up until now in a small enclosure. She came to her foster home not knowing how to walk on a leash, not knowing how to walk up/down stairs, and being very startled by loud noises. She had definitely never had a bath or been brushed out before, she loved being brushed out but the bath she could’ve done without ;-) Pork Roll is absolutely fantastic with kids. She adores the toddler in her foster home. She’s also great with her foster’s other dogs and cats! She is learning how to play with toys—she really enjoys rubber Kong type toys. She doesn’t know how to chew on bones, rawhides, etc. She is crate trained.  We think Pork Roll is a French Bulldog / Pug mix. Maybe with something else in there?? She’s approx 35 lbs., wide, short, and a short little stubby tail. Her fur feels (and sheds) like Pug fur. When she eats and drinks, she sounds like a pig.  Pork Roll is absolutely precious. She is a really, really great little dog. Pork Roll will be spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm tested prior to adoption. You can apply for Pork Roll at www.adoptapitrescue.org. Pork Roll’s adoption donation is $350. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   July 15, 2024, 12:18 am
