Story
Everybody loves a Karen, or at least THIS Karen! We met Karen a few shelter trips ago, and were immediately shocked at what we saw - not because she’s a German Shepherd (even purebred dogs end up at the shelter) but because of the condition she was in. Wildly emaciated with what should have been a gorgeous coat that was patchy and thin, her skin was obviously painfully inflamed and infected, her ears were goopy implying an infection there as well, and she looked to have recently had a litter or two before being left to fend for herself for god knows how long. But in spite of all that, her gentle eyes were filled with nothing but love and happiness as she said her wiggliest hellos. So, we added her name to our ever growing list of dogs to go back for if we could. Buuuut we are who we are and barely made it a week before she officially became a Swampie Despite her horrible appearance, we do believe Karen was once loved and spent time in a home for at least some of her life. This smart girl responds to commands and corrections, is eager to please, rides great in the car, and walks like a dream on leash. It breaks our hearts to think about what happened between then and now We have been working hard over the past few weeks to get her skin and coat back in pristine condition with medicated baths three times a week while she’s been battling a double ear yeast infection, but that won’t stop her from enjoying her high protein meals as we aim to put some much needed meat back on those gorgeous bones! When we met Karen she was only 55 pounds, easily 15-20 pounds less than what she should be We are looking to get Karen into a foster or foster to adopt home while she continues to heal and become the stunning girl she was always meant to be! Karen is roughly 3 years old, currently 61 pounds, and looking to be your only pet so she can eagerly soak up all the human affection that she can! Simply put, this girl is STARVING for attention and looking for someone with lots of love and patience to spare as she makes up for lost time and reacclimates to life indoors. Reach out if you’d like to be a crucial help in Karen’s journey to adoption August 18, 2024, 9:47 pm

RAYNA Rayna Adoption Bio: Location: Green Cove Springs, Florida (Shep Rescue Camp) Age approximately 1 - 2 yrs old. Videos of Rayna can be found on our Website www.k-9services.net located on our Adoptable Dog's page. Adoption Requirements: German Shepherd Experience preferred especially with working lines No Rental Homes Health: Rayna is Spayed, up to date on vaccinations, flea, tick, heartworm prevention. She is currently heartworm positive and is under treatment using slow kill method, utilizing Doxy and Advantage Multi. Slow kill does not restrict exercise and she does not show any signs of heart stress. Rayna is active and loves to play Ball! Rescue & Behavior: Rayna was Rescued from a high kill small rural shelter. She is approximately 1 to 2 years old. Rayna is very driven and ball/toy obsessed. She would make a great S&R or Police working dog and would definitely blossom with someone who has Working K9 Experience. Rayna thrives on learning new tasks and really needs the mental and physical stimulation. I personally would love to see her in a Police K9 job but if we can't find her an agency or handler then someone that can give her the time, attention, physical, mental activity she needs would be in her best interest. I am really hoping there is someone special that will adopt this Amazing Girl! Adoption Information: If you are looking for a very sweet girl, that deserves a second chance, please email me direct on luvgermansheps@yahoo.com or submit an online application via our website www.k-9services.net go to Adoption Application Information page. An application needs to be completed prior to arranging a meet and greet. All dogs in rescue are temperament tested and have basic obedience implemented as a part of their daily routine. All behavioral issues are dealt with according to each case scenario. All dogs prior to going home are up to date on all vaccinations, spayed and or neutered. Application, home-check, and references must be approved prior to final adoption.

Story
Layla is a very sweet and loving dog. We got her as a puppy when she was eight weeks old and has been a joy to have. She has been an inside dog and is well house trained. We have children in the home of all ages (including an infant) and Layla does very well with them and is very gentle. She is a social dog and loves to play with neighbor dogs. I believe she would benefit from having another dog to keep her company if possible. She is a mix of high energy and calm. She LOVES to give hugs and receive affection. She likes to sit outside in the sun, play in the water or rain, and hunt squirrels, lizards, and moles in the ground.

Story
We got our lovely dog from a breeder when he was one year old and he is currently three years old. Unfortunately, we can’t take care of him due to my severe allergies. Because of his past, he gets very weary around strangers and will bark at them. But after spending time with him, he is the most affectionate dog you will ever see! What I am looking for is a home that understand that because of his past, his behavior is like this, and finds the patience, love, and training to help him socialize more with people and other dogs. He will be the type of that is super protective of the family. He needs someone who actually will wants him no matter what. He is the type of dog to be only sweet to the family, he only needs a chance. It would mean the world to him and my family if we could find a new home for him! But to have him you actually want to have him since he is extremely difficult with strangers until he get's used to them.

Story
Hi- I found this guy about a month ago and have been nursing him back to health. He was dragging a heavy chain, and a belt used as a collar that was on very tightly. He was underweight by about 25 lbs per my vet. He now has a proper collar and harness and is doing well. He loves to run and play ball. He is learning to walk on a leash. He seems to have all the traditional German Sheperd traits, very smart and alert. He is under 2 years old, not chipped, not yet neutered. He loves personal attention. I have a reactive dog, so I need to find this guy a loving home.
