Story
ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/13274Meet Trix, a curious, and friendly pup who is always ready to play.Name: TrixAge of late January 2025: 13 months, DOB: Dec. 16, 2023Weight: 45 LbsBreed: Shepherd mix. PERSONALITYTrix is sweet and energetic and likes to explore. This is a high-energy and very clever girl who loves other dogs and people. COMPANIONSHIPTrix loves being with people and will follow her favorite humans around where ever they go. After playtime – and showing off her best zoomies - she calms down nicely and is ready to cuddle. She will sometimes take her cues from her foster siblings and gets excited when her foster sibs reciprocate. Trix’s foster parents expect her to mature into a great walking/hiking companion. Trix likes to play with other dogs and prefers dogs her own size. Her ideal day would consist of lots of time outside sniffing and exploring her yard. TRAINING AND LEARNINGThis smart girl has already learned many commands including touch, sit, stay, down, wait, leave it, come, roll over. Trix was potty trained with her first family but needs some re-learning after finding herself back at the shelter. She prefers to potty while roaming freely in her yard, rather than while on a leash. Trix is very good about getting in her crate when given the command, and sleeps peacefully through the night there. She also seems fine in her crate if no one is home. If she knows her humans are at home, however, she will let you know that she wants out, so she doesn’t miss any of the action – or love. She is working on her leash manners and learning to keep her curiosity in check when she really wants to go say hello to another dog out for a walk. As she gets more comfortable with her foster family, she is learning that she doesn’t need to guard her food or toys. If one of Trix’s foster siblings picks up a toy that Trix was playing with, Trix will acknowledge the transgression with a bark but she relents and lets her sib keep the toy. Trix is quite interested in her feline foster sib but shows no aggression. She sometimes summons her inner feline and sits on the back of the couch to look out a window. Trix is good about riding in the car.LOVE AND AFFECTIONTrix likes to show her love by giving lots of kisses. Overall, Trix is definitely affectionate. IDEAL HOMETrix would thrive in a home with active adults without young children. Around young children, Trix sometimes feels she needs to be protective of her turf. A big fenced yard and lots of walks would be very beneficial for her. Given her energy level and the fact that she sometimes barks in her crate, she would probably not be the best fit for apartment living. She would do best with a patient family who can help her learn to be her best self. Will you play with me?Name: MeadowsGender: FemaleBreed: Mixed BreedAge: 2.5 years oldWeight: 63 lbs (working towards an ideal weight of 60 pounds)Current Location: Ijamsville, MDAbout MeadowsMeet Meadows! This sweet and loyal German Shepherd pup is a true “Velcro dog” who loves being with her people. She’s gentle, affectionate, and always ready for tummy rubs. Everywhere she goes, people admire her beauty!Meadows is energetic and loves playing Chuck-it ball, daily walks, and outdoor adventures. She’s great off-leash and enjoys “helping” with yard work by collecting sticks. She would thrive with an active family that enjoys the outdoors.Highly intelligent, Meadows knows commands like “crate,” “wait,” “off,” “sit,” and “come.” She is eager to please, sleeps quietly in her crate, and is nearly potty trained with just one accident upon arrival at her foster home. She has visited offices, navigated new environments with ease, and enjoys playing with dogs her size, though she should be monitored around smaller pups.Meadows has been diagnosed with OCD and anxiety and is on medication while working on behavior modification. She occasionally engages in repetitive behaviors but is easily redirected with training, massage, or activity. She successfully completed heartworm treatment in January 2025 and is now fully recovered. Story
Hi my name is Serenity. I am looking for my happily furever after.  I was rescued and then abandoned at a boarding facility with 40 other dogs.  This rescue stepped in to help me and 11 of my friends and now we have a second chance. I have friends where I live and would love a home with a doggie friend. I am not fond of cats. I am eager to please and follow commands and love learning new tasks.   My caregivers take me on long walks as I am quite adventurous. The word "favorite" is used alot to describe me. It might be because I give the best kisses. I am very affectionate and love getting rubs and praise.  I am looking forward to meeting my furever people. ##2042780##
