Story
DESCRIPTION:  Beautiful Bailey was adored by her family. They knew she was a special girl and ensured that she had endless love, attention, and plenty of toys. However, when an unexpected event took place, they were unable to keep Bailey and provide her with the life they knew she deserved. Recognizing that we would provide Bailey with everything she needed to meet with success, her family made the heartbreaking decision to return her to the MAGSR. Knowing this was a very difficult decision, we promised we would find Bailey the perfect forever family.  Bailey is an active, intelligent, and playful girl. She loves her people fiercely and gives them every ounce of affection she has. With some very strong GSD traits, Bailey is loyal, protective, and on point. She tends to notice everything around her and keeps an eye on her people at all times.  As a girl with a high prey drive, smaller creatures can be a little too enticing for Bailey. She finds joy in chasing small creatures, such as rabbits and squirrels, and will need to be monitored closely if they are out and about with her. Fond of the outdoors, Bailey is always up for a long walk, hike, or adventure. She takes cues well from the handler and knows many commands. Lucky to have lived in a loving household for a few years, Bailey has developed a solid understanding of and appreciation for toys; she is hoping her forever family enjoys them too! She loves to play ball and can't help but enjoy a good squeaky toy. With a few years of experience living in a home, Bailey has also developed an affinity for a soft bed. She loves cuddling up on her dog bed and doesn't mind having a dog bed or two in the house just to change up viewpoints throughout the day. Although Bailey is crate trained and housebroken, once settled, she prefers to be out and about. This seems to keep her more settled throughout the day. As is true of all shepherds Bailey will thrive with structure, routine, and leadership. Providing clear boundaries and expectations will help Bailey meet with success. Bailey has already completed some basic training; however, she is always up for more! Continued training is essential to Bailey's success. Not only will it help her develop her canine citizenship skills, but it will also help her develop a strong and healthy bond with her forever family.  October 28, 2024, 7:35 pm

Story
DESCRIPTION: Jovial Jason was picked up as a stray in the south. When he arrived at a shelter, it was discovered that he had a large, open wound on his back leg. As this shelter, like so many others, was sitting above capacity, once Jason's stray hold was completed, he was placed on the list to be euthanized. This handsome guy was incredibly lucky as he was pulled at the last minute by another rescue. Although they knew that Jason would need to be transferred to another rescue, this group knew that Jason deserved every opportunity to move forward safely.  Jason was fortunate to have been in a foster home for a few months before moving into the MAGSR family. During this time he was able to begin receiving the medical support needed to start the healing process. With debris cleaned out of his leg, medication provided, and six weeks of rehab in place, Jason's leg healed nicely allowing him to return to regular activities and playtime. Having endless opportunities to socialize with other large dogs, Jason greatly enjoys play time. He has an active and enthusiastic play style. However, we have learned that he gets a little too excited about cats and farm animals. He will not be placed in a home with these creatures. Having lived in a home, Jason has begun to learn the ins and outs of living in a household. He is housebroken and crate trained. As is true of all dogs, Jason will need time to adjust to the expectations, structure, and routines of his forever family. With time, patience, and leadership, we know he will succeed. As Jason moves forward, training will be key to his success. Training will not only help Jason create a strong and healthy bond with his forever family, but it will also help him develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen.  Unfortunately, we have learned that Jason is heartworm positive. This prognosis could have been prevented if Jason has been provided with monthly preventatives. Although heartworm treatment is expensive, MAGSR knows that Jason is more than worth the cost. Please consider donating to Jason's treatment. Not only will your donation help Jason get the care he needs, but it will also help us welcome other dogs with medical needs. Jason's treatment has already begun and he is more than half-way finished! He will need to take it easy over the next month or so as he finishes up. Jason is an amazing guy that is hoping to find a family that will love him for a lifetime. Could that be with you? October 28, 2024, 7:35 pm

DESCRIPTION: Raina was given to her family by a friend who felt she would be a good match for their household. Although she was clearly loved by her family, Raina struggled in a city environment. As a result, her family made the difficult decision to surrender Raina to MAGSR so that she could find the family and living environment that would help her develop into the incredible girl they knew she could be. Raina is a friendly but driven girl. As is typical of most shepherds, Raina is intelligent, active, and alert. In order to meet with success, Raina will need both her body and mind exercised daily. She is not a couch potato and will do best with an active family. Although Raina is working on her interactions with other dogs, she would prefer a family where she can be the only dog so that she can be the center of attention. Raina is housebroken and crate trained. She also knows a few commands. However, as is true of all shepherds, Raina will need to attend training in order to develop into the amazing shepherd we know she is destined to be. Training will not only help Raina develop into an amazing dog, but it will also help her bond with her new family. If this active lady sounds like a good match for your household, ask to meet her today.  October 28, 2024, 7:35 pm

DESCRIPTION: Rocky and his buddy, Misty, were adopted from MAGSR a few years ago by an amazing family. They were cherished beyond words and have known the power of love. Sometimes life throws a curveball and things change in an instant. When an unexpected circumstance arose, their family knew that Rocky and Misty needed a safe place to land. So, they contacted MAGSR. Knowing these dogs were lucky to have an incredible family that would do anything for them including giving them up, we immediately welcomed both Rocky and Misty back to the MAGSR family.  Rocky is a big, sweet, loving boy. Social, affectionate, and always ready for a good lean in, when Rocky loves you, he loves you with his whole heart. An alpha by nature, this honey leads with a calm and confident nature. He knows exactly who he is and has a stable personality. Having lived in a phenomenal home, Rocky appreciates the joy of a soft, warm bed, endless toys, and daily interactions. Crate trained, housebroken, and comfortable with the daily activities of a household, this boy understands the expectations of living in a home. However, as is true of any new dog, Rocky will need time to adjust to the expectations, rules, and routines of his new family. A smart guy, Rocky already knows several commands. He enjoys daily walks and is happy to hang out with his people outside. Although he has some training on board, Rocky will benefit from attending training with his new family. Not only will training help Rocky develop a strong and healthy bond with his family, but it will also help him develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen.  Handsome Rocky is looking for a forever family that has plenty of toys, treats, and snuggles. If your family is looking for a calm, confident, and playful guy who will fill your home with love, ask to meet Rocky today. October 28, 2024, 7:35 pm

DESCRIPTION: Vibrant Valkyrie was sitting at an overcrowded animal shelter waiting for someone to come and claim her. Although she waited, no one stepped forward for this lovely lady. As shelters are simply unable to keep up with the number of animals in need, unclaimed animals often struggle to make it out alive. Valkyrie's time was running short. Fortunately, another group stepped forward and welcomed Valkyrie into their care. She was very lucky to find someone that would help her move forward as well as help address her medical needs. Valkyrie was heartworm positive upon her arrival with the other rescue. However, they ensured she had everything she needed and walked her through treatment. Having completed treatment months ago, but without adoption interest, MAGSR was asked to welcome Valkyrie into our care so that she might meet with better success with a breed specific rescue. Valkyrie had been waiting for over a year for this chance. When we learned she needed placement, we knew she would be a great match for the MAGSR family.  Valkyrie is an active, intelligent, and social girl. Having been well socialized with people somewhere along her journey, Valkyrie connects with people quickly. She loves a good hug and lean in. A huge fan of the outdoors, Valkyrie is greatly enjoying the fall weather and is happy to be out and about with her person. Although we do not know anything about Valkyrie's past, we do know that she has a bright future. As is true of all shepherds, Valkyrie will thrive when provided with structure, routine, and leadership. She is looking for a household that will provide her with clear expectations and boundaries as well as patience as she adjusts to her forever family. Training will go a long way with Valkyrie. Not only will this help her build a strong, healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. Valkyrie has been waiting for a family of her very own for far too long. If this lovely girl sounds like a match for your family, ask to meet her today! October 28, 2024, 7:35 pm

Story
DESCRIPTION: Siber was originally part of the Molly's Hogwarts litter a couple years ago. These babies and their mommy, Molly, were confiscated from a cruelty and neglect situation. Fortunately, MAGSR was able to place the family in foster homes so that they could find incredible families that would love them for a lifetime. Siber was adopted as a puppy and has lived with a family for the past two years. Recognizing the importance of providing him with rules and boundaries, Siber's family made sure that he learned the ins and outs of living in a household and gave him opportunities to meet with success through training. Although they adopted Siber with the intent to provide him with a forever family, sometimes things do not work out the way we planned. When Siber's family could no longer provide him with the daily routines, exercise, and care he needed to meet with success, they contacted MAGSR knowing we would find him an incredible home.  Siber is a stunning guy. Tall, lanky, and intelligent, this boy has typical young GSD energy and is not a couch potato. With high ball drive and a love for playing fetch, Siber is looking for a forever family that is happy to keep their throwing arm in good shape. As an active guy, Siber will need a family that will exercise both his body and his mind on a daily basis. This will help him develop the stability and confidence all GSDs need to meet with success. Having recently moved out of what he considered his forever home, Siber is currently a little lost. Our volunteers are working with him to help him move forward. He does best when given some time and patience to adjust to new people and situations. Continued socialization in controlled settings with new people and new environments is key to his success. Siber is looking for a forever home that will provide him with structure, routine, patience, and leadership that all GSDs need. He is hoping that an experienced GSD household will provide him with the tools needed for success. Food and toy motivated, Siber knows his perfect family is just waiting to meet him. Could Siber be the match for you? January 6, 2025, 10:24 am

Story
We got Shera at 8 weeks old and she is now 5 years old. She is high energy and loves to play fetch and go for walks! Once she has built trust with someone, she will love them forever. She is very protective of her master family. She knows a variety of commands, is house broken, and is crate trained. She can be hesitant or reserved with new people. She will bark at anybody new that comes to the house, but she is not aggressive. Once trust is built over time, she is then fine with those visitors. She does act scared of new people though until she warms up to them. We have two kids in the house [13 and 10] and she is great with them. We are rehoming due to her reservations with new people. We often have people over to visit. She should likely go to a home that has experience with anxious GSDs and maybe training experience. Shera has been the victim of aggressiveness from our other dog, so we would like to get Shera into a safe forever home.

Story
Hi my name is Serenity. I am looking for my happily furever after.  I was rescued and then abandoned at a boarding facility with 40 other dogs.  This rescue stepped in to help me and 11 of my friends and now we have a second chance. I have friends where I live and would love a home with a doggie friend. I am not fond of cats. I am eager to please and follow commands and love learning new tasks.   My caregivers take me on long walks as I am quite adventurous. The word "favorite" is used alot to describe me. It might be because I give the best kisses. I am very affectionate and love getting rubs and praise.  I am looking forward to meeting my furever people. ##2042780##
