Story
Ghost is a 7 year old white German Shepherd who will be 8 on July 4th. She has been incontinent since she turned 6 years old and is on a daily pill for it. She does have a small mass on her left hind leg that was tested and it is non-cancerous. She is a great a dog and would do great in a home without any other animals and older children. She loves to run around outside and play with her ball. Ghost is leash trained for walks and gets very excited for them. She can be a snuggle bug on the couch too when she wants some pets.

Story
Looking to adopt a beautiful German shepherd? Look no further than Kelso! This handsome fellow is a loyal and affectionate dog who loves to explore, and he`s always ready for a game of fetch or an exciting adventure. With his smarts, athleticism, and friendly demeanor, Kelso is sure to be a great addition to your family. Here`s what we know about Kelso so far: he`s a young, active, and playful dog who is curious about the world around him. He can be a bit dignified at times, but that just adds to his charm. He may be a little nervous in new situations, but he`s sure to warm up quickly with a little love and affection. Kelso has a lot of love to share but only with his people. He will be best in a home with no other dogs. Interested in adopting me? We recommend submitting a general online adoption application and then heading to the shelter during our normal adoption hours (Mon: 12-4pm and Tues-Sun: 12-5pm) to meet our available animals. Please note: all applications are considered general until the animal has been met. If you have any questions, please contact animalcenter@bmorehumane.org or 410-833-8848 ext 2

Story
DESCRIPTION: Jovial Jason was picked up as a stray in the south. When he arrived at a shelter, it was discovered that he had a large, open wound on his back leg. As this shelter, like so many others, was sitting above capacity, once Jason's stray hold was completed, he was placed on the list to be euthanized. This handsome guy was incredibly lucky as he was pulled at the last minute by another rescue. Although they knew that Jason would need to be transferred to another rescue, this group knew that Jason deserved every opportunity to move forward safely.  Jason was fortunate to have been in a foster home for a few months before moving into the MAGSR family. During this time he was able to begin receiving the medical support needed to start the healing process. With debris cleaned out of his leg, medication provided, and six weeks of rehab in place, Jason's leg healed nicely allowing him to return to regular activities and playtime. Having endless opportunities to socialize with other large dogs, Jason greatly enjoys play time. He has an active and enthusiastic play style. However, we have learned that he gets a little too excited about cats and farm animals. He will not be placed in a home with these creatures. Having lived in a home, Jason has begun to learn the ins and outs of living in a household. He is housebroken and crate trained. As is true of all dogs, Jason will need time to adjust to the expectations, structure, and routines of his forever family. With time, patience, and leadership, we know he will succeed. As Jason moves forward, training will be key to his success. Training will not only help Jason create a strong and healthy bond with his forever family, but it will also help him develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen.  Unfortunately, we have learned that Jason is heartworm positive. This prognosis could have been prevented if Jason has been provided with monthly preventatives. Although heartworm treatment is expensive, MAGSR knows that Jason is more than worth the cost. Please consider donating to Jason's treatment. Not only will your donation help Jason get the care he needs, but it will also help us welcome other dogs with medical needs. Jason's treatment has already begun and he is more than half-way finished! He will need to take it easy over the next month or so as he finishes up. Jason is an amazing guy that is hoping to find a family that will love him for a lifetime. Could that be with you? October 28, 2024, 7:35 pm

Story
DESCRIPTION: Raina was given to her family by a friend who felt she would be a good match for their household. Although she was clearly loved by her family, Raina struggled in a city environment. As a result, her family made the difficult decision to surrender Raina to MAGSR so that she could find the family and living environment that would help her develop into the incredible girl they knew she could be. Raina is a friendly but driven girl. As is typical of most shepherds, Raina is intelligent, active, and alert. In order to meet with success, Raina will need both her body and mind exercised daily. She is not a couch potato and will do best with an active family. Although Raina is working on her interactions with other dogs, she would prefer a family where she can be the only dog so that she can be the center of attention. Raina is housebroken and crate trained. She also knows a few commands. However, as is true of all shepherds, Raina will need to attend training in order to develop into the amazing shepherd we know she is destined to be. Training will not only help Raina develop into an amazing dog, but it will also help her bond with her new family. If this active lady sounds like a good match for your household, ask to meet her today.  October 28, 2024, 7:35 pm

Story
DESCRIPTION: Rocky and his buddy, Misty, were adopted from MAGSR a few years ago by an amazing family. They were cherished beyond words and have known the power of love. Sometimes life throws a curveball and things change in an instant. When an unexpected circumstance arose, their family knew that Rocky and Misty needed a safe place to land. So, they contacted MAGSR. Knowing these dogs were lucky to have an incredible family that would do anything for them including giving them up, we immediately welcomed both Rocky and Misty back to the MAGSR family.  Rocky is a big, sweet, loving boy. Social, affectionate, and always ready for a good lean in, when Rocky loves you, he loves you with his whole heart. An alpha by nature, this honey leads with a calm and confident nature. He knows exactly who he is and has a stable personality. Having lived in a phenomenal home, Rocky appreciates the joy of a soft, warm bed, endless toys, and daily interactions. Crate trained, housebroken, and comfortable with the daily activities of a household, this boy understands the expectations of living in a home. However, as is true of any new dog, Rocky will need time to adjust to the expectations, rules, and routines of his new family. A smart guy, Rocky already knows several commands. He enjoys daily walks and is happy to hang out with his people outside. Although he has some training on board, Rocky will benefit from attending training with his new family. Not only will training help Rocky develop a strong and healthy bond with his family, but it will also help him develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen.  Handsome Rocky is looking for a forever family that has plenty of toys, treats, and snuggles. If your family is looking for a calm, confident, and playful guy who will fill your home with love, ask to meet Rocky today. October 28, 2024, 7:35 pm

Story
DESCRIPTION: Vibrant Valkyrie was sitting at an overcrowded animal shelter waiting for someone to come and claim her. Although she waited, no one stepped forward for this lovely lady. As shelters are simply unable to keep up with the number of animals in need, unclaimed animals often struggle to make it out alive. Valkyrie's time was running short. Fortunately, another group stepped forward and welcomed Valkyrie into their care. She was very lucky to find someone that would help her move forward as well as help address her medical needs. Valkyrie was heartworm positive upon her arrival with the other rescue. However, they ensured she had everything she needed and walked her through treatment. Having completed treatment months ago, but without adoption interest, MAGSR was asked to welcome Valkyrie into our care so that she might meet with better success with a breed specific rescue. Valkyrie had been waiting for over a year for this chance. When we learned she needed placement, we knew she would be a great match for the MAGSR family.  Valkyrie is an active, intelligent, and social girl. Having been well socialized with people somewhere along her journey, Valkyrie connects with people quickly. She loves a good hug and lean in. A huge fan of the outdoors, Valkyrie is greatly enjoying the fall weather and is happy to be out and about with her person. Although we do not know anything about Valkyrie's past, we do know that she has a bright future. As is true of all shepherds, Valkyrie will thrive when provided with structure, routine, and leadership. She is looking for a household that will provide her with clear expectations and boundaries as well as patience as she adjusts to her forever family. Training will go a long way with Valkyrie. Not only will this help her build a strong, healthy bond with her forever family, but it will also help her develop the skills needed to become a good canine citizen. Valkyrie has been waiting for a family of her very own for far too long. If this lovely girl sounds like a match for your family, ask to meet her today! October 28, 2024, 7:35 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- WAFFLES IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR AN INDIVIDUAL ASKING TO REHOME THEIR DOG. PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW. Waffles was born April 5th, 2021. She is 45-50 pounds,  Spayed, and up to date on shots. Waffles is NOT good with cats or small dogs. No young children due to her high energy. Understands basic commands. (Sit, down, stay, come). She gets along with other big dogs with slow introductions. Waffles loves to be around her 'person', will roll onto her back for belly rubs. Crate trained but sleeps well outside the crate once she's used to her surroundings. She will easily jump a 4' fence and can unlock a gate so extra fenced security is needed for adoption. She LOVES her Kong!!If you are interested in adopting Waffles please contact Tracy at Tljaneski@gmail.com.  443-536-4076. Waffles is being fostered in Westminster MD.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 18, 2024, 9:06 pm
