Story
Just like her namesake Nesta, she is fiercely loyal, a gorgeous pup, and ready to be you or your family's best friend! She loves her walks, and entertaining herself with her toys, and will love a fenced in yard or deck so she can keep watch outside, but she is also happy sat by the window. Nesta has been sleeping through the night and is crate trained if needed; she is also very calm on car rides. She is highly motivated by treats and is doing well learning commands so far: sit, stay and come. She hasn't yet been tested around other dogs, but is very fond of kids, although as she is still learning she may suit older kids for now at least. She is mostly house-trained with the odd accident we are working on.  She is ready and waiting for her new family! Mandatory in person transfer date: March 29th at the Petsmart in Tysons Corner between 10:00 AM-11:00 AM. All adopters must attend in order to finalize the adoption. ##2330792##

Story
To learn more about Bodey, please email: dogs@lostdogrescue.org. Bodey is a vibrant, high-energy German Shepherd who embraces life with enthusiasm and a love for adventure. True to his breed, this strikingly handsome pup thrives on activity and needs both mental and physical stimulation to stay content. With his boundless zest for life and eager-to-please nature, Bodey is an incredibly intelligent and trainable dog who has already mastered several commands. Whether it's fetching a ball, going for long walks, or hiking in the woods, he is always ready for action! Despite his lively puppy-like personality, Bodey is a loyal and dedicated dog who loves to be near his people. He’s often found at your side, napping nearby or occasionally trying to curl up in your lap for some affection. Once he warms up to you, Bodey is playful and affectionate, but he doesn’t demand constant attention—he’s independent when he needs to be, but you might get a big, goofy kiss from him if he gets a little too excited! Bodey absolutely loves chew toys/tennis balls, a good nap, and especially long walks, ideally in the woods where he can explore to his heart’s content. He’s a very strong guy who’s still learning to manage his impulses and excitability, particularly when it comes to seeing other dogs while out on walks (he’s just so eager to make new doggy friends!). In the home, Bodey has made significant progress with his training and is house-trained and crate-trained, and he even puts himself to bed each night. His protective instincts make him a great companion, but he also requires an owner who understands his need for exercise and structure and can adequately provide that to him. His ideal home would be an active one with a good-sized, fully high-fenced yard for him to run around in to help burn off some of his energy. And if kids are in the home, we recommend older ones due to his size, strength, and excitability. Prior experience owning a German Shepherd or a similar high-energy breed is a plus. Bodey would thrive in a patient, stable environment—one without cats—where he can continue to grow and learn. With plenty of exercise, consistent training, and the right loving home, Bodey will be the most loyal, loving companion anyone could ask for. If you’re ready to open up your heart and home to an active, adventurous dog, Bodey just might be the perfect match for you!
