Story
Toby is a wonderful, 3-month-old puppy who was found, abandoned, in Illinois and is now living in Maryland. He is very intelligent and a quick learner. Toby is leash trained and almost fully housetrained. He has learned several commands and is great at expressing his needs (when he’s thirsty he will even bring you his water bowl to ask for water). Toby loves being chased around the yard with his toy in his mouth, searching for treats and he likes to play with other dogs. Although he is not fond of the rain, he loves playing in the snow. He is looking for a loving and affectionate family that wants to adopt an energetic, young puppy. Toby has so much love to offer and wants a home that can reciprocate that love. Toby has been neutered and is up-to-date on his vaccines. If you are interested in meeting Toby, please message us for an application.

Story
My name is Steel, and I plan to “steal” your heart! I’ve been told that I am a VERY GOOD BOY, and I have a super silly, wiggly butt. Yup- I am adorable and sweet. Being such a lover, I like to lean in when getting pettings all while giving off the cutest doggie smiles! So, I was adopted years ago but my owner is moving, and the landlord said no pets. I was a bit sad, but I am shaking off the news and moving forward. While here, I am making friends with the staff and volunteers. I am so wonderful, once staff member said, “Steel is a beautiful energetic boy and just a doll!” In my previous home I thrived on a grain-free diet, so I’ll need the same in my new home. So, if you have an affection for wonderful doggies like me, please visit me soon and let’s plan a future together!

I`m in a FOSTER HOME! If you would like to set up a time to meet with me, please email my foster parent kriskill.hasse@gmail.comHi, there! If you`re looking for a laid-back dog who enjoys quiet time at home, lounging on a dog bed or in a sunny spot in the yard, you`ve found her. I`m Imogen (Gigi for short), a 9-ish year-old female shepherd mix. I`m a very calm girl who will only ask a few things of you. First, I have some arthritis, so I need to get my pain meds and lots of stairs are kind of hard for me as a result. Second, I won`t eat any of your food, but could you please give me canned food? It`s pretty much all that I`ll eat. Third, when I get scared, I need calm reassurance that things are going to be okay, and maybe a little bit of a calming medicine. And last, I need a comfy, supportive, large dog bed to lay on. I can hang in your house all day and won`t mess with anything, and I`m very good on the leash. Would you consider giving me a place in your house for my golden years? You won`t regret it.If you`d like to meet me, please email my foster mom at kriskill.hasse@gmail.com. Can`t wait to meet you!

Story
*Needs new home immediately* Dingo is high energy, very intelligent, and a loyal companion. He does not seem to understand social cues from other dogs. This is the primary reason we are rehoming. He has taken obedience classes and understands sit, down (lay down), stay (lay down position), and focus. He is currently prescribed a flea and tick monthly chewable.

Story
Rex is one of those happy go lucky, loveable German Shepherds that is a rare offering in the rescue world.  A two year old, 75 pound young dog that is a victim of divorce.  Like children, he is having to adjust to a new lifestyle and he must be rehomed due to his dad moving in with parents who are already at their limit for dogs. Everyone is heartbroken. Rex loves everyone and is good with cats, other dogs and adores meeting new people. He is housebroken, crate trained and not a nervous nelly like some Shepherds can be.  He is still growing and can stand to add a few more muscular pounds as he becomes a more mature adult dog.  Broken hearted is what his owner will be when he goes  but Critter Cavalry Rescue has promised to find the perfect Shepherd savvy home for him with a fenced yard, and someone with the time and stability to give this boy all he deserves in life.  Rex is an eager and easy student to train to be a family’s “everything” dog.  Please know this breed before asking to adopt.  They are dogs that cannot be ignored and left alone for 10 hours a day.  They love challenges that are both mental and physical.  Rex is a love of a dog, with no aggressive tendencies at all but he needs to know boundaries and you MUST BE A LEADER to him.  He will pace at first in a new environment because that is what GSD breeds do.  Change is tough on their intelligent heart and soul.  He is a true treasure for his breed.  If interested, please contact us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 16, 2025, 10:11 pm

Story
Our boy Enzo is looking for that ultimate German Shepherd savvy owner and family who will promise to throw his squeaky toys and balls in the backyard so he can chase them and bring them back for more fun!  This two year old 65 pounds boy is just the best boy that is looking for his master that is smart and can offer him boundaries and routine and guidance on how to be the best dog he can be.  This boy needs a fenced yard for playing fetch when you throw all those toys. Enzo  found himself in a shelter because his owner had no time and resources for him any longer.  A sad and frequent situation that so many animals are finding leads to them being deserted.   Enzo is SOOOOO SMART!  He just wants to please you and wants to be your handsome canine BFF.  He is responsive to commands and is a dog that might be best as the King of the house.  He does well with other dogs but we think he would thrive at the ultimate level as your only focus and dog in training.  He is active, housebroken in his kennel and he is looking for a purpose in life.  Healthy and totally vetted, this boy has captured Critter Cavalry’s heart and we are determined to help him find that wonderful forever family or person.    If you are interested in this dream boy, please write to us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com    We think that cats might be too tempting to chase.  He is in Nashville, TN but we do transport to the northeast every weekend.  He is available in Tennessee and also in the northeastern states.  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 25, 2025, 8:28 pm
