Story
My name is Rubble. Rubble is my name because I was broken and collapsed but my pieces are strong and able to rebuild. At only 3 years old and 58lbs, I am an incredible companion!Sometimes I am a bit nervous about new people but only because I came from a place where I couldn’t count on the humans around me to have the best of intentions. I have learned that my friends working at the shelter are my true warriors and have been fiercely intentional working on the same goal of giving us the best possible love we can have until we get invited into your homes and life.I was able to take part in a fantastic day at Jimmy John’s Baseball Field which let me show my true athletic nature running bases and posing in the dugout. I can hit the ball, but I might just enjoy bringing you the bat instead. I wasn’t ever truly trained on a leash but I do very well when my handler has the patience and discipline to help me understand all good things come to those who wait and work hard. I sit, shake, and love giving humans kisses. I love to get my morning and afternoon zoomies out, but it’s truly human touch and affection that I crave. I can be the warmest cuddled and also love to rough-house and play with my canine friends here at the shelter. I take treats politely and know how to wait patiently for meal times!I have been here too long. Help me rebuild my love in humans. I am available for adoption now at Macomb County Animal Control. I hope you will come see me and my friends soon.If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm. My adoption fee is SPONSORED!

Story
Everyone, meet Ronin. Ronin is an exceptionally handsome German Shepherd on a road to recovery after coming to the shelter in a very unfortunate state. Weighing in at only 50 pounds when he arrived, he is now an awesome 56 pounds and gradually getting more and more nutrients. Ronin experienced a horrible skin and hair-loss reaction during his scary journey before coming to MCAC, but as he is amazingly resilient, his beautiful coat continues to get better each day.Ronin loves to play with other dogs but definitely would benefit from more socialization, so if you do have other canines in the home, we will require a dog-to-dog play group to ensure not just Ronin, but your pet enjoys the company, too. We will not allow Ronin to go to a home with any feline friends, so he will either need to be the only pet or do well with another pup.Ronin loves to play fetch with the tennis ball and he recently discovered that he LOVES peanut butter. He gives kisses and likes belly rubs and has really become attached to everyone here that has helped to care for him.It is imperative you understand the breed as well as his need for nursing him back to health and proper exercise. Ronin has also been known to jump 4-foot fences and he is very agile, so a proper tie-out stake with heavy duty silicone lead will be necessary to bring this beautiful boy home.If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $150.

Story
Hi! My name is Gretchen and I`m a 1 year old German Shepherd.I am a very friendly girl and I am looking for my forever home! Can you help me find it?I enjoy being around people and getting lots of attention. I love to be pet and will even roll on my belly for you!I also really enjoy other dogs. I play very well with them and will play for hours on end. Running around and wrestling in the yard is my favorite! Cats on the other hand are not my favorite so it is recommended that I go to a home with no feline friends.Did I mention I love water? Here at MCAC I have a kiddie pool that I love to roll around in and cool off, I`m told it`s very cute.My ideal home would have a large fenced in yard for me to run around in. I have lots of energy and need daily exercise! It is best I go to a home with older children as I am still young and don`t have many manners yet.If you think I`m the right fit for your family, come meet me!If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $250

Story
Zelda is almost 3 years old. She is a good dog but can be territorial toward the house or yard, especially toward unfamiliar people. She is playful and sweet and loves to run and play with her frisbee. She has had some basic training, but could use additional training or a job/activity to keep her occupied as an outlet for her boundless energy. Our family's schedule is just not the best for her level of energy as my husband and I both work and can't always devote the proper amount of time to keep Zelda engaged the way she should. Zelda likes to be the center of attention so she doesn't always like it when attention is given to other animals so somewhere with no other animals is best. She also would be better suited to a family without small children as she doesn't really do well around them, though she tolerates our daughter for the most part. She is up to date on shots, spayed, and chipped.

Story
Willow is an amazing dog. She is smart, beautiful, and has A LOT of energy. I’ve had her for over a year and a half and just recently moved from an apartment to house where I have seen MAJOR improvements but still has a long way to go. We live with my grandparents who are 80 years old and my 2 cats. She does ok with the cats and tends to chase them even still being over a year later. She is very dog/human reactive and needs to be with the right person who can do that for her. I wouldn’t say no dogs around her ever, she does well slowly. She is a working dog and proves it every day. She has special quirks about her that are a lot to handle but also just too cute. She needs to be in a home with NO other animals to start and a Human who can provide what she needs when it comes to her behavior and energy. She is an awesome dog all around, her current home isn’t meeting her requirements and thats why she needs someone who can give her all of what she needs that I am not able to provide her.

Here are some nice facts about him: Goofy Fun spirited Active Prances happily all around the room Very responsive and attentive to you Can be mouthy He is blind in his left eye Needs structure and limits A fun, active home would be perfect Adopter should have some understanding of herding breeds and their needs Has a soft, loose and playful approach with other dogs Will need a home where any children are at least 13 years old. If you are interested in Scout and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch.
