Updated Bio as of June 2023: Jupiter was originally found as a lost pup with her 2 brothers in a corn field during winter. She nearly froze to death, she was so cold she couldn't run/move quickly and people were able to catch her. They were all very thin and had to fight to survive with the coyotes out there. Jupiter is learning to trust humans and will be a happy dog around me but still skittish over touch. With new people she will take time to warm up for sure. Jupiter's adoption fee is sponsored. She is ok with other dogs but initially acts like she's aggressive. It's the survival mode in her. Once she knows they aren't going to hurt her she warms up. She will need to be fed separately from other animals. At Autumn Acres Animal Rescue we believe each individual animal matters. We take in special cases some of which will stay with us as a sanctuary dog.If the animal is listed as a Socially Imperfect Dog this means they have special needs and special requirements for potential adopters.If the animal is listed as a Socially Imperfect RESIDENT this animal is NOT available for adoption and is one of our sanctuary residents. Here we have Ben. He is a great dog and I love him with all my heart and want him to go to a good home. He is 4 years old and I’ve had him for 2 years. He is a cuddly love bug. He knows how to sit, lie down, & shake. He goes into his kennel without hesitation. He knows how to say “I love you and Hello.” He just wants to love you and be close. He loves to guard his family. He will sit by the window waiting for his family to come home. He will follow you everywhere you go but not be constantly in the way. I love him with all my heart and am going to miss him. He loves stuffed toys and never met a dog he wasn’t friends with. He walks okay-ish on a leash but after about 3-5 miles he’s good to go. He has a little bit of ADHDoggy but he’s a hoot and comes when he’s called and very treat motivated. I don’t want to get rid of him but….. he’s not good with cats. He was for 9 months . Until one day he wasn’t and we no longer have a cat. So no small animals. Any questions please ask.

Huxley is an energetic pup, looking for an active family who will take him on lots of adventures! His foster mom reports he is house trained, crate trained, knows basic commands (sit, come, heal, down, yes, and no), loves toys, and having fun with other larger dogs. He walks nicely on leash, and is very treat motivated, making him super easy to train. He is best suited for a home where he is the only dog, or with dogs as large as he is. He is around 9 months old and 60 pounds. Midwest Animal ResQ offers a 30-day adjustment period within which you can evaluate the pet's progress and your adoption decision. If, within those 30 days, you determine your recently adopted pet isn't a good fit, you may return the animal and receive a MARQ credit that can be used toward the adoption of another animal. Our biggest priority is finding the very best match for you, and Completing Families one Tail at a Time! At the time of adoption all dogs are signed up with a unique Safe Paws QR pet ID tag, the adopter is required to maintain a monthly membership of $2.99/month for (at minimum) the first year. This helps insure your new furry family member makes his way back to you if lost. Leashes and collars are also required at the time of adoption. You are welcome to bring your own, or we have plenty to chose from at the shelter as well. Our shelter is located at 10312 East 63rd Street in Raytown, MO. We are open to meet pets Tuesday through Friday from 10-6, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10-5. We are closed on Mondays.
