Updated Bio as of June 2023: Jupiter was originally found as a lost pup with her 2 brothers in a corn field during winter. She nearly froze to death, she was so cold she couldn't run/move quickly and people were able to catch her. They were all very thin and had to fight to survive with the coyotes out there. Jupiter is learning to trust humans and will be a happy dog around me but still skittish over touch. With new people she will take time to warm up for sure. Jupiter's adoption fee is sponsored. She is ok with other dogs but initially acts like she's aggressive. It's the survival mode in her. Once she knows they aren't going to hurt her she warms up. She will need to be fed separately from other animals. At Autumn Acres Animal Rescue we believe each individual animal matters. We take in special cases some of which will stay with us as a sanctuary dog.If the animal is listed as a Socially Imperfect Dog this means they have special needs and special requirements for potential adopters.If the animal is listed as a Socially Imperfect RESIDENT this animal is NOT available for adoption and is one of our sanctuary residents. Kora was saved from an apartment life where she only knew a balcony. However the older she gets, the more training and German shepherd expertise she needs. She does nibble(puppy bites) but it can be corrected with training. She’s very playful and loves toys, especially playing fetch. She’s good with children but she does jump on younger children and can potentially knock them over. Shes good with other dogs, loves going up to the neighborhood dogs to play and run along the fence line. We have a busy life and unfortunately cannot give her the attention and training she needs.

Story

Lu is a 3 year old Shepard mix looking for a new home. We adopted Lu about 2 years ago from KC Pet Project. Unfortunately he has resource guarding issues with our other older dog, which is why we are looking to rehome him. We have not had issues with him resource guarding from us. He is a lovable goofy dog who loves walks, playing fetch, and being outside, and laying about on the couch. Lu should live in a single pet home due to his resource guarding. He is very well trained otherwise and is familiar with an e-collar (not a shock collar). He knows place, sit, stay, heel, no, and come. We have two small children and have not had issues outside of him sometimes wanting space. For any interested new families we would be willing to provide as much information and answer any questions about Lu.

We rescued Chico from the streets of Texas. Chico was born to a purebred German Shepherd who was pregnant by a stray. Chico loves people & kids. He is a goofball & just wants to play all day. He loves playing with his litter mate Cielo who is also up for adoption. He loves being outside but will come in for some ear rubs & knee bones. He does need socialization & training. He does not show any signs of aggression to people. He loves peanut butter in his kong, tug of war, wrestling, running & bones. He is neutered, vaccinated yearly & gets a monthly heartworm preventative. He's house trained, crate trained & leash trained. He's such a sweet, goofy boy & behaves very well. Unfortunately we do need to rehome him due to having a small child in the home who is scared of him.
