Meet Callista!
Callista is a 4 year old, 70 pound German Shepard who loves long walks, treats and spending time with her people.She enjoys long walks, playing in the grass, and playing with enrichment puzzles and kongs!
Callista's biggest super power is being a fast learner (she loves to please and seems eager to learn her commands). She's learned tons in her time in foster care: lay down, give paw, and drop it are all in her wheel house! She's working on "beg" and to heel while walking, showing a ton of improvement with walking next to her foster during walks. She loves to please and she loves to be rewarded for a good job, making learning new tricks a breeze.
In terms of house training, Cali learned how to go outside in just a few weeks, but sometimes accidents do happen. She is very cautious when meeting new people but once she warms up to you, she's the sweetest most affectionate girl. She loves praise, kisses and positive reinforcement.Some of her favorite things are Stewart's beef liver treats, stuffed animals, Deer antlers and squeaky chew toys.
Though Callista is acclimating to life in the big city and learning to be a good neighbor in an apartment building, she would be be happiest in the suburbs, as busy streets, loud buses and running into neighbors can stress her out. If you're looking for the sweetest angel who is looking for love and patience, she will make a great companion to anyone who has a big, fenced in yard for her to play!
Callista is currently being fostered in Union City, NJ. Her adoption fee is $600.
Callista is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well.

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
