Story
** Current Location: in a local shelter in South Korea ** • Rescue Story : Meet Hyonie👋 the sweetest gentlest soul! Hyonie was found in a park in South Korea at four months old in March 2022 and taken to a high-risk shelter alongside her two sisters. Luckily, they were saved right before euthanasia by the rescue team. While one of her sisters is living with a foster family, Hyonie is still in the crowded shelter, awaiting her forever family. • Personality: Affectionate, Submissive, Smart Hyonie may seem a little shy at first, but she is surprisingly a BIG cuddler to people, which means that all she needs is a little bit of time to open up in the beginning. She would thrive on affection as she loves to be petted all the time! She would be a great fit if you are searching for a cuddly pup. She learns things quickly as she is a food-driven smart cookie. You will definitely find training her a part of the joyful journey with her! • With Cats: Not tested • With Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs. She’s a submissive and gentle type of dog. • With Adults/Kids: Good with adults / Unknown for kids • Shedding: 5-6 • Food Allergies: No. • Walking Manner: in training and improving! • Housetrained: Hyonie knows how to use pee-pads even though she lives in the shelter. She may go potty indoors (pads) and outdoors both when adopted. • Bathing/Brushing: Good • Bark or Howl: Barks a little bit toward strangers • Likes & Dislikes: She likes going for walks, playing with toys, and chewing stuff. / She doesn’t like being kept in confined spaces. • Note: She has had two of her toes removed due to blocked circulation of blood caused by blankets tangled around her toes. She's been fully recovered and now fine walking and jumping!

Story
❗Current Location: in a foster home in South Korea❗ • Rescue Story : Meet Jinyea👋 This laid-back sweetheart was found wandering alone on a street in South Korea when she was just three months old. Sadly, she ended up in a high-risk shelter and on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, the rescue team stepped in just in time, giving her a second chance at life. After spending over two years in a private shelter, Jinyea moved into her loving foster home in December 2024. Now, she’s ready to find her forever family! • Personality: Affectionate, Adaptable, Calm Jinyea is a total lovebug—gentle and sweet with everyone she meets. While she might need a little extra time to warm up to men, all she really wants are some good pets! She’s also one of the most easygoing pups you’ll meet, with a mid-to-low energy level. At home, she’s happiest resting and taking it easy. Her resilient nature means she adjusts quickly to new environments, so she’ll likely settle into her forever home without a hitch. • Affinity with -Cats: She's curious about cats when she sees them on walks. -Dogs: Well-mannered and submissive around other dogs. She gets along well with the resident dog in her foster home. -Adults/Kids: Good with adults. For men, she might need a little extra time to warm up. / Not much interested in kids during walks • Housetrained: She's fully housebroken and does her business both indoors (pee pads) and outdoors. • Walking Manner: This girl is a dream on a leash—she walks gently and matches your pace. • Shedding: 5-7 • Food Allergies: No • Car Rides: Good • Barker or Quiet: She's very quiet most of the time except when she hears suspicious sounds outside the door. • Separation Anxiety: She howls for a few minutes right after her most intimate person goes outside and rests calmly. This gets better as she learns the family routine. • Bathing/Brushing: She's a champ when it comes to baths and brushing! • Likes & Dislikes: She likes to play with a ball! She adores snuggling up with cozy blankets and cushions. / Not a fan of being left alone!

Story
** Current location: in a foster home in South Korea ** Meet Silvia👋 Silvia’s story began when she was found wandering the streets of Paju at just three months old. In March 2022, she and her sisters ended up in a high-kill shelter. Thankfully, they were rescued just in time! While one of her sisters had a chance to stay in a foster home, Silvia spent over two years in a crowded shelter, waiting for her chance at a forever home. Now, she‘s eager to finally find a family of her own! • Personality: Sweet, Cheerful, Chill Silvia may be a little shy at first, but she quickly warms up and has a playful, cheerful personality! She can get along with men, as long as they approach her slowly. She loves squeezing between people’s legs for some extra affection! She can be a bit barky when she’s unsure and may nip if startled☝️ / Her energy level is moderate—she enjoys playing but also loves her naps. • Affinity with - Dogs: Silvia plays well with other dogs at the shelter! - Cats: Not tested - Adults/Kids: She may be a big shy at first but becomes friendly to anyone including men quickly / Not tested with children. • Walking Manners: Despite her limited experience with walks, Silvia does amazingly well on a leash and follows along nicely! • Housetrained: She‘ll need work on potty training. We recommend regular walks to encourage outdoor potty habits over using pee pads. • Baths/Brushing: As for grooming, Silvia’s a star—she’s great with baths and brushing! • Car Sickness: Not experienced with cars yet. • Separation Anxiety: none • Barks/Howls: She occasionally barks at unfamiliar/scary things for her. • Appetite/Food Allergies: Eats good / No food allergies • Shedding level (1~10): 5-6 • Likes/Dislikes: She likes to go under people’s legs! Also, she loves to play with tennis balls! / She is not a big fan of being confined in a small space.

SNOWALL  was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on Saturday 3rd August.   We post in east coast states and Canada as we have many families adopt and are happy to make the worthwhile trip up to the rescue. We do not always have time to post all the pictures on each dogs individual page, but we do post a lot of photo's on the rescue Facebook page. Snowball is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. He has an estimated date of birth of September 2023 and at the beginning of August weighed around 60 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks.    He does need an active family who will ensure he gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that he needs to live a happy fulfilling life. SNOWBALL has an adoption fee of $300 Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue in SEBEC, Maine to meet and take home their new best friend. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. GEYRAN was saved and cared for by Muscat Dog Adoption, before sending her with other saved dogs to Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine. They arrived in the US on 28th January 2025 and were transported to the rescue where they are settling in. GEYRAN was cleared by the US canine center for diseases upon entry into the US. She is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, is on monthly preventatives, microchipped, weighs around 56 pounds and has an estimated date of birth or 2 February 2021. She is a front leg amputee. Geyran is the  mother of Binky. GEYRAN's (Geeran) Story is that she rescued after her and her pups were shot. Sadly only one of her pups survived and Binky came to the US at the same time as her. Geyran had been a street dog and had her pups on the streets and managed for her family to survive, socializing with some nice locals for about a year before the shooting. She was shot twice in her leg which unfortunately did too much damage and her leg had to be amputated. She is an incredibly happy and social girl who loves everyone she meets. Stray dogs in Oman are referred to as "Wadi Dogs" and are a mix of the popular sighthound breeds, specifically thought to be descendents of the majestic Saluki and other smaller breeds, many resembling whippets with their small agile frames. If not saved these dogs are often shot or brutally ran over and left for dead. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. GEYRAN is available for adoption for an adoption fee of $150, as noted she is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine and families are required to complete and submit an  adoption application and when approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and hopefully take home this precious girl home. Applications are processed with 24 hours of them being received. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. MARGO was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas and  arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine on Friday, 14th February. We post our available dogs in states across the east coast and Canada to reach as many people as possible in hopes to find perfect homes and families. We do not transport dogs, families must come to the rescue to meet and then hopefully take home.. MARGO is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, is on monthly flea/tick prevention and was given the 12 month pro-heart heartworm prevention injection in February 2025. She is microchipped and on 12 February weighed 58.20 pounds. She has an estimated date of birth of January 2023.  We do not know what the breed is, we expect families to decide looking at any pictures and video's provide and decide if the breed is a good fit for their family. This beautiful girl was adopted from a Texas shelter as a young pup in June 2013, sadly found herself back in a kill shelter in December 2024 at just under 2 years old and is a complete love bug. At the shelter, before coming to Maine, MARGO was lucky to be part of the shelters "Doggy Day Out Program" as she as so well behaved - this is some feedback from the shelter volunteers in their play groups: (5 January) - Shelter Doggy Day Out Program "How did your dog do in the car? Loved it! Which of the following activities did the dog enjoy? Going on a walk How did they interact with strangers? I love meeting new friends! If they saw any cats, how did they react? We didn’t see any cats If they saw any other dogs, how did they react? She was super curious and wanted to go right up to them. She didn’t bark at any even when they would bark at her If they met any children, how did they react? She didn’t meet any children How did I walk on the leash? She was excited and would stay at the pace I went How were my manners and do I know any tricks? Jumpy, Good manners Did they show any of the additional behaviors listed below? Warms up (timid at first), Wants to sniff, Wants to run The best part of my Daycation was when.......Ending our day with a pup cup! Any additional notes you would like to include about the dog? Margo was happy and excited to do anything in the day!" The shelter volunteer stated (8 January) Dog didn't mind the other and made way away from others to relax to self for some time and showed some playful energy with the others once getting warmed up with the group. (16 January) High energy, jumpy, social with people, loose wiggly body, wants to play and run, high energy. (22 January) During the observation Margo was a good girl, she listens to the command sit and has a burst of energy. (28 January) High energy, jumpy, knows sit, knows shake, leash puller. Social with dogs and people, loose wiggly body. Love bug, wants to play, wants to run, solicits pets. Knows sit, shake, energetic, jumper, loves to run interests in dogs leash reactive.  (Rescue comments - it is important to take into account when reading these comments that these dogs are in a strange environment with a lot of dogs, and they are learning about each other in a very small space of time, it is high stimulation environment, also often the first time they have had exercise with other dogs.  Comments are from volunteers, not trainers or behavio rists). We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. KODA was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas and  arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine on Friday, 14th February. We post our available dogs in states across the east coast and Canada to reach as many people as possible in hopes to find perfect homes and families. He is microchipped and on 12 February weighed 54.40 pounds. He has an estimated date of birth of December 2022.  We do not know what the breed is, we expect families to decide looking at any pictures and video's provide and decide if the breed is a good fit for their family. Koda's adoption fee has been reduced in hopes to find his forever home as he is not doing great in the kennel environment, he gets over-stimulated which doesn't help as he isn't getting the mental stimulation or exercise that he needs. Koda is an incredibly affectionate boy, he is very responsive, knows sit and possibly other commands. Koda needs a family that understand the breeds needs and has the active lifestyle that he needs. We are looking for a family that understand that dogs need time to decompress and figure out what has happened to them the past several months, who these new people are and to learn the new rules, boundaries and expectations of their new families. He takes treats gently, rode great on the transport up from the airport up to the rescue and uses the dog door with no problems. He is a dog that definitely needs mental stimulation and training so he knows exactly what is expected of him. When he first arrived at the rescue, he would try and bolt out of the gate, jump up when I was trying to give him his food - after just a few days of correction he has learned, he still gets excited but he is in a kennel environment and craving attention. The shelter volunteer stated that Koda began to wag his tail when he saw them in front of his kennel. He took treats from them still wagging his tail. His eyes were friendly and his body was relaxed. He had a very friendly demeanor. A volunteer took him to a play group and said he was quick to join play with others and very pushy and obnoxious with his energy towards others. Would run and roughhouse with others that can keep up with his energy. Needed to be corrected due to getting too into play and being too pushy and excited with others at times.   (Rescue comments - it is important to take into account when reading these comments that these dogs are in a strange environment with a lot of dogs, and they are learning about each other in a very small space of time, it is high stimulation environment, also often the first time they have had exercise with other dogs.
