Story
He just wants someone to hold his hand and love him! Shadow is the sweetest 9/10 year old Shepherd mix. He is neutered, UTD on shots/bloodwork and is very healthy aside from his allergies. He does have allergies on his feet and requires Apoquel or he chews them. His owner passed away suddenly and he was thrown outside with his housemate. Shadow has met other dogs and many people. He LOVES all people and just wants to sit with you for cuddles and scratches. He walks well on a leash and is good for bathes and vet appointments. He loves to ride in the car and climbs right in. He does chase cats and would do best in a cat-free household. He comes with food, toys/blanket/bed, leash/collar, medication and treats. A small rehoming fee is required.

WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Yogi - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Yogi is with a neighboring rescue that is having a family emergency. If you would like to adopt Yogi, we will pull him into our rescue to complete the adoption. Yogi is a handsome 8 month German Shepherd who weighs approximately 40 pounds. Yogi came to them from a rural shelter with what they thought were new leg injuries from being hit by a car. After xrays, it was determined his broken front and back leg were actually old injuries that had completely healed unfixed by his previous owners. The pain he must have been in as a young pup is heartbreaking. They did an FHO to fix his back hip, but his front leg has a definite 90 degree angle. He is not painful at all and can run and play still. The surgeons recommended for them to amputate his front leg but he he actually uses it so they said no. Yogi is extremely affectionate with people both tall and small and also with the other foster pups. Although cats are unknown at this time. Yogi is an happy active boy with a moderate energy level that still enjoys running, playing and adventures even all that he's been through. He is also housetrained so he's ready to get to all the fun stuff!! This incredible boy is ready for a loving family of his very own. One with kind words, gentle pets and some fun filled adventures...could it possibly be with YOU?!!!

Hi ya world, my name is Toby and happy full of life is my game! I'm a 8 month happy bouncy ready for whatever you throw at me fella. I'm active, playful, sweet and charming! I'm ready for any and all adventures that include us doing them...together!! Do you like long walks? Me too, I'm gonna go get my leash. Do you like going camping/hiking? Hey, I certainly don't mind sleeping on the ground if you don't. Do you like belly rubs? I'm not the greatest at giving them, but I sure do love getting them. I come in at a nice medium size at around 53lbs. A pawsome size for all those adventures and still room on the couch for getting those belly rubs! I'm house trained which means we can get right to the fun stuff and I know a few basic commands already like sit and drop it. I'm pretty smart so I'm eager to learn a whole bunch more! I'm looking forward to being a BFF, one that always will have your back, a sidekick, one to accompany you on your daily going on's, a cohort, one for all those action type adventures...could I be that 'ONE' for YOU?!!! You can fill out my adoption application found at haydudeequine.org My brother, Teddy also needs his fur-ever home!!

**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Chester. I'm about 1 year old and I weigh about 52 lbs. I was found as a stray in the Homeworth area around mid-October and I was picked up by the pound. When I first came in, I was unsocialized and I was fearful of everyone and everything. Through some hard work on the part of the volunteers and employees here at the pound, I am making a huge turn around. I am learning slowly learning that humans are pretty cool, and that I don't need to fear everything new, because some of the new stuff is pretty cool too. I have learned how to walk on a leash since I've came into the pound. That was pretty scary for me at first, but I have made wonderful progress. I am an affectionate boy and I like to give hugs when I am scared, or just when I would like some attention. I can be a bit on the vocal side, especially when I am on walks or in my kennel not getting attention, but I am trying to learn how to be a good boy. I will need a patient family willing to work with me on housebreaking and training. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Denver. I'm about 10 months old and I weigh about 60 lbs. My friend, Myself (and 3 pups) were picked up by the pound after multiple complaints were made against our owner for letting us run at large. Our owner didn't try to rectify things, nor did they make any attempt to claim us. My friend is heartworm positive and will have to remain here for a while while she undergoes heartworm treatment, but I am a healthy boy (aside from lyme disease which is being treated) and I am able to start looking for a loving family now. I am a very sweet and affectionate boy with people. I will need a little work on my basic manners and basic training, but I am a smart boy and should learn quickly. I have been good around the other dogs here at the pound, but the pound does always recommend meet and greets with any other dogs you own just to make sure we get along well.
