Story
Meet Goliath, a stunning Great Dane with a heart as big as his name suggests. This gentle giant was found as a stray and brought to a shelter, where he quickly won over the staff with his kind and loving demeanor. They described him as sweet, gentle, and a total favorite during his stay. Goliath may be dog-selective and seems to prefer a calm, low-stress environment. When he was found, he was involved in a scuffle with another dog, which the shelter staff believes may have been due to a female in heat nearby. He has since been tested with other dogs at the shelter, and while his introductions weren’t perfect (he showed some hesitation with his hackles raised), they were promising. Goliath might thrive as the only dog in the home or could potentially coexist with a calm and patient canine companion. We’re still getting to know Goliath and learning more about his needs since rescuing him from the shelter on 2/11/25. What we do know is that he’s a sweet soul who’s looking for a loving forever home where he can feel safe and cherished. If you think you could be the one to give this big boy the second chance he deserves, we’d love to hear from you! Prospective adopters should fill out an application on our website. Goliath is waiting to meet you! 💙

Story
Roper was running at large in North Texas and found his happy place at a French Bulldog breeder’s property SO if you see some really big FBs you know who the baby daddy is! He got his name because the sheriff roped him to break up the party. Our founder drove him to Colorado and just because of his size, she said people wouldn’t even make eye contact with her at gas stations, especially when she got him out to tinkle. She felt totally safe with him and so happy to have him along for the ride. He is 80-ish pounds and we think Dane and whatever. Roper has since been neutered, is current on vaccines, and has been working with a trainer on general obedience. His best owner would be alpha and keep up his training. This boy is sweet and athletic - watching him run and play is a beautiful thing. Please email dancingdogrescueco@gmail.com for foster or adoption information.

Story
For more information about this Dane, please visit our website at https://rmgreatdane.org. Adoption Applications link can be found on the home page. Hi – they call me Bubas.  I spent 4 months in a shelter.  They named me Bubas. I checked out of the vet with a clean bill of health, but they recommended some meds for fear and anxiety.  You see, I was found wandering the streets, so I have a very mysterious background – my little secret.  But I can tell you this:  I am scared of a lot of things, especially men and strangers.  Strange Men are the Worst.    I have latched on to Foster Mom and will not leave her side – I don’t growl at Foster Dad anymore, so that’s a bit of progress. I enjoy playing with other dogs and my toys.  I’m good with middle aged to older kids, but the little ones have as much energy as I do and they make me a bit nervous.  Besides, I’m big enough to knock them down when I’m just trying to play with them. I am slowly learning manners and commands and getting better with time.  I’m learning to walk on a harness and leash – regular collars make me alligator roll to get out of them.  I am house trained and crate trained. Here is my idea of the perfect home:  Great Dane Experience, female only household, my people to be home more than not, lots of patience and love, another big dog to pal around with and whom I can learn from,  interest in helping me to learn how to bring out the Awesomeness that is inside of me, and some more love.  Please fill out an application and ask for me.November 6, 2024, 3:48 pm

Story
For more information about this Dane, please visit our website at https://rmgreatdane.org. Adoption Applications link can be found on the home page. Special Needs:  Daily heart medication ($18 per month) Kevin’s photos say so much about his past.  It is clear this boy has been let down before but we at RMGDRI want to help turn things around and provide the love and medical care Kevin deserves.  We are in need of a special foster family willing to support his recovery.  Because we have limited information on Kevin, the ideal home will have no other dogs or cats.  We will consider older, dog savvy teenagers but given limited history, a home with children is not ideal. Like most shelter surrenders, we have limited information on Kevin.  We know based on a vet examination, he will have significant health needs.  We as a rescue will cover his medical care.  We need a loving foster home that has the ability to take him to doctor appointments as needed and provide whatever medical care is required in the home.  We would like to get him out of the shelter as soon as possible.  Kevin will likely remain on medical hold (foster) status with the rescue due to his health needs. More about Kevin: Intact Male (Will be neutered by RMGDRI when medically cleared) House-trained unknown Create trained unknown No children (We have limited history on Kevin) Friendly to people / visitors No dogs (unknown history, shows some reactivity at shelter) No cats (unknown history, shows some reactivity at shelter) Fenced backyard required (unknown leash skills) Giant Breed Experience required due to history; Experience with medical / hospice needs preferred December 3, 2024, 5:36 pm

Story
For more information about this Dane, please visit our website at https://rmgreatdane.org. Adoption Applications link can be found on the home page. Echo is a stunning 1-year-old Great Dane mix with a unique Merle coat and mesmerizing eyes—one blue and one brown. She’s destined to be a petite yet stunningly beautiful girl. After spending some time getting to know her foster family,  she’s ready to find her forever home! This lovable goofball has a fun mix of traits—she’s outgoing and playful yet a little aloof, making her a charming clown who keeps her family entertained. She loves to play fetch, enjoys belly rubs, and is happiest when she’s close to her people. Like most Danes, Echo is a true Velcro dog, sticking by your side for love and companionship. While she’s incredibly affectionate with her family, she can be shy and fearful around new people and loud noises. With patience and positive reinforcement, she’s already made great progress in her foster home. She’ll need a family willing to continue working on her confidence and helping her feel secure. Training & Personality Highlights:&#226&#156&#133 Crate trained (sleeps in her crate at night)&#226&#156&#133 Leash trained (still learning not to pull but improving!)&#226&#156&#133 Smart & treat-motivated—quick learner!&#226&#156&#133 Good with children (previous home had young kids)&#226&#156&#133 Loves toys (especially fetch and chew toys!)&#226&#156&#133 Quiet and affectionate—loves belly rubs & snuggles Needs continued training to help with fearfulness of new people Can be mouthy and jumpy when excited What’s Echo Looking for in a Forever Home?Echo would thrive in a loving home with an active family that enjoys walks and playtime. She’d do great with kids and would love someone who’s home often to give her attention. A patient adopter who can help her build confidence with new experiences and people would be perfect for her. If you’re looking for a fun, loving, and loyal companion who just needs a little extra patience to shine, Echo might be the perfect match for you! Could Echo be the missing piece in your home?   More about Echo: Housetrained:Yes Crate trained: Yes Affectionate with her family but shy and fearful of strangers Good with teenagers in the home – May be too much for little ones Needs a home without small dogs or cats – plays too rough and may have prey drive Knows “sit” – needs continued training Treat motivated and a fast learner Pulls on leash – needs additional training Foster has no knowledge of her with other dogs but in previous home she would resource guard toys with other dogs – needs socialization and continued training Moderate to High puppy energy If you would like to adopt or foster-to-adopt Echo, submit your foster application today!
