Story
Meet Rollie, an extraordinary 3-year-old, 65-pound Great Dane mix with a heart as big as his stature! Rollie came to us from a partner shelter after being surrendered as a stray, and while he only has three legs, you’d never know it—he doesn’t let that slow him down one bit. We don’t know the story behind his missing leg, but Rollie embraces life with joy and resilience. He’s sweet as can be, adores being with his people, and gets along beautifully with other dogs. This loving boy is ready to find his forever family and show them just how amazing he is. Great Danes like Rollie make incredible pets. Known as “gentle giants,” they are loyal, affectionate, and deeply devoted to their families. Despite their size, Great Danes are often nicknamed “lap dogs” because of how much they love to snuggle and be close to their humans. They are typically calm, well-mannered dogs who adapt well to family life and are excellent with children and other pets. Their even-tempered nature and friendly demeanor make them wonderful companions. Rollie embodies all of these fantastic qualities and more. He’s a true testament to the resilient and loving nature of Great Danes and is sure to bring joy and warmth to his future home. Whether he’s lounging with you on the couch or socializing with canine friends, Rollie will fill your days with unconditional love and companionship. If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle, and heartwarming addition to your family, Rollie could be your perfect match! Rollie's adoption fee is $275. You can learn more about Rollie and other dogs at Happy Bark by visiting www.happybark.org PA Kennel License 17445

WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Stormy - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Hello all you fantastic people out there, let me introduce myself. My name is Stormy and I'm here hoping to adopt me a family...one that I can say will be all mine! And I'm really hoping since you're reading this, you are considering adding ME to be part of your family!! I am about 2.5 years old and come in at around 112lbs. Yes, that's a big gal but I'm sweet and loving and well...that's just a little bit more of me to love you!! I have a very sweet loving temperament that does well with people but would probably do better in a home with older children as sometimes I don't realize my own size with the wee little ones. I get on great with other pups but haven't had the pleasure yet of meeting any of those strange creatures y'all call a cat. I am a pro at getting out of flimsy fencing so I will need a secure fence or leash walked. I am housetrained already, making it easy for us to get right to the fun stuff...right away. I'd love to share all your adventures from the mundane daily to the weekend exciting. I love getting pets, going for strolls, hiking nature trails and relaxing on the couch watching your favorite TV program. If you're ready for lots of love and affection, I is that big gal for you! All you need to do is fill out my adoption application and I will do the rest!! You can find it at haydudeequine.org

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Adoption Application HEADLINER: Paula is a snuggle bug of a great dane that needs a home where she can lay on the couch and watch movies and go on long walks/play with her people. HISTORY: Unknown PERSONALITY: Paula is loving once she is comfortable round you but it takes some time and trust building to get there. She matches your energy, if you are having a lazy day, Paula too, is having a lazy day. If you are energetic and going for a run, Paula too, wants to go for a run. She really just loves being around people and doing whatever you are doing. She is a lazy dog at heart and loves napping on couches, beds, etc. She is very skittish and easily spooked by noises and sounds, she often scares herself with her tail when she hits things like trash cans, railings, etc.. FAVORITE ACTIVITIES: Running at the fairgrounds with other dogs who will chase me and snuggling on the couch or bed with my people. MEDICAL ISSUES: Spayed, de-wormed and treated, caught up on all vaccinations. WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST KIND OF HOME: Paula needs a very patient owner who will love her and take the time to build trust. She is not warm and fuzzy to new people but after a few days will she will get there, unfortunately, it may be due to her background. Another dog would be great for her because she loves to play but she could also thrive in a home where she is the only dog. She may need a quieter home because loud noises and sounds spook her very easy and she is already extremely skittish (even after she gets comfortable). She needs a home where if there are kids they understand that needs to be met on her terms and slowly. She most likely will growl because she is uncomfortable not because she has intention to harm. She is hesitant towards everyone and will pick one person to be her person and will slowly warm up to everyone else. She would most likely be ideal for young or middle aged owner who can handle her on a leash in case she sees a squirrel because she will pull. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Paula has good recall but when she sees something of interest (like a squirrel) it is hard to refocus her if she is off leash she will run and chase it. She also took some time to go up and down the stairs. It may take weeks of coaxing and lots of treats but with time she will get there, but beware once she finds the bedrooms your bed is now her bed. Application Fees, Adoption Donations and Rescue Policy: Please know that 100% of our fees and donations pay for the costs of rescuing dogs. These include but are not limited to pull fees from shelters, veterinary examinations, vaccinations, medications and care, microchips, neuter/spay surgeries, heartworm treatments, behavior evaluations, and foster care, as needed. Important notes before applying. Adopters must have their primary residence in one of the following states: Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and parts of North Carolina. We will not adopt giant breed dogs to renters. Homes with children under 6 years of age will not be approved for adoption. Homes with children should have a fenced yard. Pets currently in the applicant's home must have a history of appropriate veterinary care. Homes with intact dogs will not be approved for adoption.  Proof of any of the following exceptions is required: The intact dog is a working member of a law enforcement, or search and rescue/recovery team. The intact dog is registered under the auspices of the American Kennel Club and is actively being shown. A veterinarian has determined the sterilization procedure would harm the intact dog.  We believe in Force Free Training Methods and do not approve of methods or devices using pain or force to control the dog, or to deter undesirable behavior.  Homes with highly varnished steps must have carpeting, securely fixed stair treads, or a non-skid surface. **We encourage you to remediate potential safety issues while your application is under review, prior to the home visit.
