Story
Roar is a rescue, we've had him since he was 4-6 weeks old. He is almost three years old now and around 85 pounds. He is loving and energetic while also being stubborn and having a tendency of resource guarding. Much of the time he will lay with us on the couch or under the desk while I'm working, but at a moment's notice he will be very excited for a walk or quick fetch. The reason we are looking for him to be adopted is we have a daughter soon joining us and he has never been around infants or young children, and we don't want to risk anything adverse due to his size and resource guarding/rules. The ideal home for him is with adults and if children are present, they are old enough to understand the behaviors of large dogs. He has a loud bark and is a large breed so he probably wouldn't be great an apartment scenario, and while we have a yard he only spends about 30 minutes each day out there, preferring to come back inside.

Story
Freya! This beautiful girl found herself on the euthanasia list in a small, extremely underfunded shelter in New Mexico. She originally entered the shelter pregnant and unfortunately, gave birth there. All of her puppies passed away as often happens to pups born into these environments. Freya’s time was limited (due to space) when a volunteer happened to notice her and gave us a call. This sweet girl is approx 2-3 years old. She LOVES the snow she’s found here in Colorado and has adapted beautifully to living in a home. Freya is dog friendly and gentle with adults and kids she’s been around. One of her favorite things to do is sit down and offer her front paws up to her foster mom for hugs. Don’t let this sweetie pass you by! Freya is being fostered in Mead, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/freya/. Story
Good golly Grady! Just look at this handsome, fluffy, mug. Grady is a 7 month old, male, Great Pyrenees mix. He LOVES his human kids and canine friends. His foster mom frequently finds him up in the swing set with the whole gang. Grady is big and clumsy. He’s stubborn, like Pyrs can be, but he’s smart, too. Grady uses a doggie door and he’s working on making positive associations with his crate. He much prefers the fluffy dog bed next to his foster mom’s side at night. If you’re looking for a family dog and have a large yard, Grady is the guy for you. Grady is being fostered in Brighton, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/grady/. Story
Willow is extremely adaptable pup! She loves all people (she’s mostly with adults in her foster home but has been happy to meet a couple small neighbor children too), engages well with other dogs and has been respectfully learning some important manners and social cues from them. She gets a little scared of loud noises but recovers quickly and is building her confidence a little every day. Willow is playful, lovable and extremely eager and quick to learn new things. She had a basic understanding of “sit”, “down” and “come” within about 48 hours and is making impressive strides with potty training. Willow is approx 12 weeks old and is believed to be a Great Pyrenees mix. Willow is in foster in Niwot, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/willow You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Marshmallow is a curious and outgoing pup! She is brave and is the first to investigate new things. Marshmallow has extra dew claws on her back legs that are floppy and adorable, confirming our suspicions that she is a Great Pyrenees mix. She loves to play tug of war with her foster canine siblings and pounces like a cat on a mouse. She’s also very attention driven which makes training a breeze! Marshmallow is approx 12 weeks old.
