Story
- Enjoys spending time with dogs who have a similar play style - Prefers to explore and do their own thing here in the shelter, but will likely open up more once they're in a home environment and have had time to decompress - Does well on a leash - Tends to be socially awkward with other dogs (dog intro recommended) - Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for them (mature home recommended) - All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for age- The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, and not breed label Primary Color: White Weight: 103 Age: 2yrs 1mths 2wks

Story
HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email fosterinquiry@arl-iowa.org.---- Came from a situation where he did not get the socialization and exposure to the world that dogs typically get from a young age; has been doing very well in his foster home but still may struggle with new situations and things - Big, fluffy teddy bear of a dog who loves pets and attention and will ask for it by pushing his head into your hands; also loves it when you hold his paw - Loves chew toys and is excellent at shredding stuffed toys; also likes being outside and in the snow with his people - A goofball who doesn't realize his size and may forget to watch out for people and things when he's running and playing - Knows sit and shake - especially for treats - Has done well with housetraining in his foster home; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new schedule and routine - Is used to being in a kennel when his foster family is gone and has done well; at night, he sleeps through the night next to his foster family's bed - Has shown struggles with leash walking, indicating he may not have had much exposure to it; will need continued work on this in his new home and would benefit from a fenced yard - Loves the school-age kids in his foster home and frequently climbs into their laps for snuggles - Likes the small dogs in his foster home and would probably enjoy a playmate who is closer to his size All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Willie is a sweet,BIG, and snuggly great pyr! He loves snuggles and letting you know if there are strangers nearby. He does well with other dogs and kids. He may be big but he is so gentle. He is two, he weighs 113. He does have an allergy (suspected) to chicken and beef, but does well with a salmon based food. Story
This smiling boy is Ryan. He is 4 years old and weighs 60 pounds. Ryan is a goofy guy and loves sleeping in some weird positions. Upside down in a dog bed or with his head hanging off a recliner are two of his favorites. Ryan does well with other dogs and especially likes the ladies. He absolutely adores people and loves to be petted. Ryan enjoys walks and car rides, he just wants to be with his people. Ryan’s foster parents DNA tested him. He is a supermutt. He is mostly Great Pyrenees with some Pit Bull, Chihuahua, American Eskimo, Neapolitan Mastiff, Fox Terrier, Lab, Chow, Cane Corso, and Australian Shepherd mixed in. The Pyrenees explains his coat, it’s short but soft as a bunny. Ryan’s life has not been easy. He was born with bad hips and was brought into a Missouri shelter in July. He was on the euthanasia list because of his hips. We stepped in and brought him into rescue. Ryan had Femoral Head Ostectomies on both hips. The ball and neck of his femur were removed. Now, he’s pain-free and ready to live his best life! His muscles have formed a “false joint,” and he can do everything a normal dog can do! If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion who just wants to be by your side, Ryan is the dog for you! Ryan is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped. He is very well house trained and is kennel trained. If you would like to meet Ryan please complete the adoption application on our website: furfunrescue.org. If you have any questions about Ryan you can email Rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657. Adoption fee is $300.00 Indoor homes only. Adopters must be within a 2-hour radius of Cedar Rapids, IA.
