Story
Meet Yeti! He’s a big lovable teddy bear who was left to fend for himself by his previous owners when they moved. He LOVES to play in water. He’s very treat motivated and eager to please. He’s pretty docile with other dogs. Yeti has a bad ear infection he’s seeing the vet for, so we’re sure he’ll be more excited about pets once that’s better. Yeti is a big Great Pyrenees mix weighing about 70 pounds at 6 years old.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.August 18, 2024, 5:26 am

Story
**Meet Feather!**Feather is a delightful 1.5-year-old pup weighing in at 55 pounds. She was found as a stray, but since joining us, she has shown her incredible personality. Feather is fantastic with other dogs and loves to play, yet she also has a wonderfully laid-back side. She appears to be a collie mix, though her exact breed is a bit of a mystery. What is clear, however, is how beautiful she is, both inside and out. Feather would thrive in a home with another dog to play with and people to shower her with love. This gorgeous girl is ready to bring joy to her forever family!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. Story
Molly is a two and a half year old girl who is sweet as pie. She is fully housebroke and kennel trained (though she prefers to be out and about as much as possible). She loves to go for walks, play a good game of tug a war, or cuddle up right next to you to watch TV. She is incredible intelligent, knows basic commands (sit, lay down, kennel), and learns very quickly. The only reason we are looking to rehome her is because she does not get along with our other dog. She gets along great with kids and cats but MUST be the only dog in the home. She is very gentle and absolutely loves people. Adoption fee negotiable.

Grits and determination!! That is the saying, right? To get anywhere you must have grits and determination?? Grits are good for you, ask any Southern mama :) You guessed it, my name is Grits and I have a LOT of determination! I came from the pound with HORRIFIC injuries related to a multiple dog attack :( And boy I was in pain and had horrible infections and was so so skinny and just sad... But the rescue peeps fixed me up! It took several weeks of LOVE, good nutrition, wound care and "heart repair" to return my zest for life and to see the glimmer of hope in my eyes... Now I am all fixed up, healthy and happy and READY for you!! Don't ever let me be out on the streets again, fighting off other dogs to live. Give me your COUCH, an air conditioner and lots of love and treats and I will be yours FUREVER!!! And speaking of fur, well, you know I am a Great Pyrenees and we SHED great amounts, so you must love me more than my hair!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Story
Hey there, I'm Banzai, a 3 year old Great Pyrenese with a heart of gold. I'm a friendly and gentle boy but I have not had any experience in an indoor home. I'd like to try it out but I need someone patient to understand I need time to adjust. I also wouldn't mind staying outdoors with the proper set up. I have been around horses and do fine, but as for other livestock I'm not sure. Take me home and I'll show you love. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas twice a month. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veteinarian ($35). Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! ##2031970##

Story
Hello, I'm Mo! I'm the sweetest, friendliest, most curious and smartest dog you'll ever meet. My sidekick, Banzai, and I ended up here after a hilarious mix-up at the park. You see, we mistook the animal control van for the ice cream truck! We chased it all the way here and well, the rest is history. We've been making the best of our situation, causing laughter and spreading joy. If you're looking for a friend that can turn any situation into a comedy sketch, I'm your dogs. Adopt me, and let's create our own sitcom!
