Meet Sadie, a seasoned lady with a heart full of love! This friendly girl is outgoing and always ready to make new friends! She’s not shy about seeking attention. Sadie would love to go on walks with you and improve her leash skills, as she pulls a bit. She was a polite, relaxed, and a little aloof when meeting a large female dog. She can have slight resource guarding with food, so would benefit from training. She appears to have some basic obedience and may be housetrained. Sadie’s looking for a forever home with kids 15 and up, where she can share her warmth and affection. Come visit Sadie where she’ll be eager to meet you with a smile!

Story
Pinky is a young husky mix, with lots of energy and love to give. She tends to stay close seeking attention and security. She would benefit from training and lots of play time to bring out her best qualities. While she can jump up in greeting, she does settle in once she is getting the attention she craves. She weighs around 40 pounds. She was friendly, but a little timid when meeting another similar sized female dog. Pinky is ready for a new family and we are recommending a home with children ages 12 and older.

This beautiful girl is Orchid! She is friendly, energetic, and has a playful spirit that is a joy to watch. She loves toys, testing out every one, and readily releases them. Orchid will make you smile with her enthusiasm for running and playing in the water. She likes attention and pets, and was tolerant of handling. Orchid needs to work on leash manners as she pulls, and needs more training to learn not to jump on her handler. She can be a bit mouthy when offering food. When meeting another large female dog Orchid was friendly and initiated play. Orchid is waiting to share her zest for life with a family who’s looking for an adventurous, fun companion. Kids 13 and up recommended.

Story
This sweet boy is a playful and affectionate dog who enjoys running around the play yards but equally loves spending time with people. He’s pretty good on a leash, though he pulls moderately, and he’s getting the hang of not jumping. He responds well to training, and seems to know how to sit and listen for commands. With one blue and one brown eye, he has an adorable appearance, and he makes the cutest happy sounds when you walk him. While he’s a bit nervous at first, he’s been friendly and playful with several other dogs of various sizes. He’ll benefit from some additional training to build his confidence and refine his manners.

Say hello to Cheerios, a two-year-old Husky mix who's here to add a little crunch to your morning routine! This handsome boy found his way to us as a stray and, sadly, his previous family didn't come to claim him. But he's looking forward to becoming the most important part of your day! Cheerios is a people person, er, pup through and through and is great with adults and sturdy kiddos alike. He's also got a friendly, balanced blend with other dogs, but we're not entirely sure if he pairs well with felines just yet. Ready to make every day a little brighter with Cheerios by your side?November 7, 2024, 1:00 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Zephyr is an approximate 5 year old Husky/Lab(?) mix. She is super smart, playful, funny, and obedient. Zephyr was a transfer from SFSPCA where she wasn't getting much interest. She had come to them as a mom with pups and was in foster care until her pups were ready for adoption. At that time, Zephyr was shutdown and unsure. The SFSPCA team did a fabulous job of getting her accustomed to the leash and helping her learn to trust. Since her arrival at Azaya, she has blossomed into a silly girl with TONS of personality. She loves to play with other dogs, is a pleasure to walk on the leash, and will talk back to you (as Huskies are prone to do). She has participated in several rounds of our obedience program and is now used as our demo dog. This dog has made a huge turnaround and we don't think she's finished surprising us yet. Please inquire about how Zephyr can add some quick wit and never ending curiosity to your life All of our animals are up to date on their vaccinations, spayed/neutered, microchipped, and have had a physical exam. At adoption we provide: veterinary records and vaccine certificates, castration certificate, lifetime lost animal support, one month’s worth of flea medication and heartworm medication, one week’s worth of food, a leash, a collar, an ID tag, and a familiar toy or blanket to help them settle in. We also provide lifetime basic positive training support. If you would like to meet any of our animals, please complete our adoption application at www.azayaranchsanctuary.org or email info@azayaranchsanctuary.org. Story
Amelia is our sweet blue-eyed girl- a hidden gem! This wonderful dog was rescued as a stray in Fresno and brought to FDR for a second chance at life in 2022. Since then, she has blossomed into a loving sweetheart with everyone she knows. She even has a boyfriend here named Vincent. Amelia is long overdue to find her forever family and enjoys walks with our fantastic team of volunteers. With her silly mannerisms, coy demeanor, and sweet nature, it's impossible not to smile when spending time with her. She is a special dog, and we can't say enough about how much we adore her. Amelia will be an excellent companion in a home that is just as loving as she is. She was the perfect guest during a recent foster visit. She didn't bark or make noise, loves treats and takes them gently, gets along with male and female dogs and loves quietly cuddling on the couch! *Remember, Northern Breeds have an intense prey drive. They are not suitable around cats, small dogs under 20 lbs, or other small animals. Apply for this beautiful girl today! Adoption donation is $495.

Story
Meet Vincent Van Gogh! When he first came to the shelter he was pretty wary of people, but now he's warmed up and knows that when he sees people he'll get to go on walks and adventures with his dog pals! Walks with his buddies are his favorite parts of the day. He loves to stop and smell the flowers. He's been patiently waiting for his forever home, and will be happiest with a female canine companion in his future household! He'd love to be in a husky savvy home with very secure fencing, that won't let him out unsupervised in a backyard! We've loved watching him grow into a much more confident and social dog, and know that he'll continue to progress by leaps and bounds in a home environment. If you'd like to bring this amazing husky into your home and give him the life he deserves complete an application today!

Mac is a large Malamute mix with a gentle nature. Though he was initially a bit timid in the kennel, once leashed, he becomes more relaxed and enjoys staying close, seeking attention. Mac is easy to leash and walks at a moderate pace, often trotting alongside you without pulling or jumping. He’s not overly interested in food or toys but loves affection, often returning for more cuddles after running around the yard. He enjoys being brushed and gets along well with other dogs, playing briefly before coming back for love. Mac is a friendly companion looking for a home where he can continue to build confidence and feel safe and cherished.
