Story
Hi there, I'm Killian! I'm just a puppy, but I'm full of life and love. Playtime is my favorite time of the day. I'm also quite smart, if I do say so myself. I like to stay engaged on an activity. Maybe scent work is in my future? I'm a bit of a serious guy, I also love watching cop shows on tv. I'm a little nervous at first of new dogs and people, so my adopters should continue socializing and training me. My mom took me and my siblings to an abandonded house for shelter. She tried her best to keep us all alive. Unfortunately all but one of my siblings died. Most of my puppyhood was in a shelter with my mom.  Until we were added to a list, because the shelter needed room and we were the longest residents. Luckily Mother Gaia Animal Rescue saw our plea and they took us right to safety! I promise to be the sweetest, most loyal, and playful companion. If you're looking for a friend who will always be there for you, I'm your guy! My adoption fee is $450 and I'm up to date on vaccines, neutered, and microchipped.  ##1917600##

Story
Hi! My name is Chance. My family got a new puppy and dumped me. A nice lady gave me some food, water and tried to take me to a kill-free shelter, but all of those are full. I have no where to go. I am a really good boy. I LOVE kids and I get along with most other dogs. Im happy, playful, affectionate, energetic, intelligent, friendly, curious, protective, obedient and I love belly rubs and long conversations. Im a Husky/Red Heeler w/a blue eye & only weigh about 35 lbs. I love to give cuddles, hugs and I have a gigantic smile that I love to show off. I don't get on the furniture or kitchen table. I only potty outside and know a lot of commands like: sit, stay, come, leave-it, no, lay & more plus I learn really fast! Even though my last car ride didn't go so well for me, I still love them. All I really need is a SECOND CHANCE, a tall fence and I will be forever grateful and the best buddy you have ever had. I'm really going to melt your heart--I just know it!

ADOPTION FEE: $575.00 Previous shelter notes - Monkey is ready to get out of this jungle so he can explore all there is to see! He's as sweet as can be and he adores other dogs! Just a silly and happy young pup that craves love and attention. Monkey is a social butterfly and he'd love an adventurous lifestyle! We are a foster-based rescue and generally do not have pups available to meet at our office except during adoption events on Saturdays. Not every dog attends every adoption event. Interested in this pup? The first step is to complete our online application by clicking the "Apply for Adoption" button. Please note that we are only able to finalize adoptions at events for approved adopters. The earlier you apply, the better as it takes time to review and approve applications. We host adoption events almost every Saturday from 10:00am to 1:00pm at our rescue office (1721 W Harmony, unit 102, Fort Collins, Co 80526)! Check our Instagram and/or Facebook page for info on where we will be hosting adoptions this weekend! All Aboard Animal Rescue saves dogs and puppies from high-kill shelters in other states. These pups are brought to Colorado, where they are required to be spayed or neutered - breaking the cycle of unwanted litters of puppies who end up as strays! Please consider supporting us in this mission by adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating.

Story
Meet Nova. Nova has had a rough start to her life, stranded out on the hot, dry Houston streets. Unfortunately for her, for who knows how long nobody batted an eye at this poor naked dog, suffering on the streets. Thankfully and finally, Nova was picked up and brought to the shelter... You'd think this was when she was rescued, however due to her hair loss from dermatitis the shelter placed her on the euthanasia list within just a few days. Farfel's Rescue received a plea email from our Houston rescue partners to save Nova's life, just hours from her scheduled euthanasia, and we knew we had to help her. We saw her potential that was ignored just because she doesn't look perfect. Nova was scooped up from the scary shelter, and placed immediately in a foster home. Nova has now been in a foster home for a month and a half, receiving medicated baths, coconut oil rub downs, and LOTS of love! Nova is a Husky, although we know it's hard to tell without her long fluffy coat. She has been fully treated for her skin condition, and now it is just a matter of time and tlc and soon her hair will be Colorado-winter-ready! Nova is only 1 year old, and 35 lbs. From Nova's foster: * * * * "Nova has been doing great! She settled in very nicely. She has been with us for 2 weeks now, so I wanted to share some more info about her and her wonderful personality: She is very friendly and sweet. She is affectionate with people and friendly with other dogs that she meets, and great with our dog in the house too. Nova loves to cuddle, and is doing very well with housetraining! She is learning quickly and benefitted from a routine. She's treat motivated and catching on quickly! She sleeps all night quietly in the crate with no issues! Enters the crate with a high value treat. She is young and eager to learn. She is treat motivated and wants to please!! She did well with learning some basic commands such as "sit" and “no”. She is very people friendly! Loves everyone! Greets neighbors & visitors politely. Very social. And she is an A+ cuddler!! Loves to be with you on your lap. Cuddles on the couch. She eats well, does great at the vet, and I've rarely heard her bark. Her favorite toys are soft plushy toys. Her favorite things to do are sniffing in the yard, playing with toys, or taking walks. Her favorite treats are pieces of chicken. She also rides great in the car. Her skin is starting to heal and she is looking so much better. She has beautiful blue eyes and such a sweet personality! I am sure once her skin heals and her fur grows back she will be a beautiful dog. She is a really sweet, wonderful pup!" * * * * Nova could be that dream come true best friend for an active family who enjoy spending their time with a very sweet and engaging companion. The Husky is a perfect choice for those who are searching for a super-smart, loyal, and very loving family dog. Huskies are active, so an active family or individual is a must. Huskies require lots of physical, but also mental stimulation. An adopter with prior Husky experience is not necessary, but a plus! Nova represents the best qualities found in Huskies. We would love to see Nova in a home that includes her in family time and activities...she's appropriately playful and fun-loving and would thrive in a family that truly loves her and considers her a very important family member. She will be a wonderful companion for active, fun-loving individual or family who have the time and energy to give a Husky the proper exercise and stimulation that she needs! She would also fit in well with a family that works from a home-based office and loves to have a best companion to love up throughout the day. We feel that Nova is too social a girl to be left alone for the long hours of full-time employment outside of the home. She doesn't require another dog to be happy if her people are very present and involved...but does enjoy her canine relationships with playful and gentle dogs. Huskies are famous for their sharp intelligence! They use this intellect during their participation in training classes and therefore are very successful in learning skills and commands. It's for these reasons that we require adopters to sign up for positive reinforcement group (or personal, if preferred) training classes. She'll be a class star (which builds high self-esteem) while bonding with her family and learning her skills in a very positive way. Through this training, Nova will become a well-behaved dog that can accompany her family out in the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement/ force-free trainers in your area. Farfel's Rescue feels very strongly that every dog deserves the opportunity for formal, positive reinforcement/force-free training. We therefore aren't willing to adopt out to a home that doesn't choose to offer this training opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of approved positive reinforcement/force-free virtual and in-person trainers in your area. Nova is up to date on her vetting/vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. She is not yet spayed, but Farfel's covers the full cost of her spay, which is required to finalize any adoption. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. If you are interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ .
