To adopt or for more information, please visit http://TaysiaBlue.com Hi I'm Chief and I'm excited to meet you! I'm a beautiful fluffy husky with the most mesmerizing eyes - one is auburn and one is parti-colored blue and auburn! Did you know parti-eyes are the most rare? I recently fell upon hard times when my owner passed away and I'm anxious to have my own family again. In the meantime, I've been living with other huskies and I do well with them and love to play. I also love food! Like a typical husky, I'm bouncy and have lots of energy! Do I sound like best friend material? To adopt or for more information, please visit http://TaysiaBlue.com Are you looking for an exotic pet, rather than an ordinary husky? LOOK at me! I might be mixed with sugar glider or flying squirrel! I'm soooo cute and truly one of a kind! I'm a happy go lucky medium to high energy pup. I want to play all the time, especially with other dogs! I get along great with the other husky in my foster home. I don't guard my food, toys or snacks, but I can occasionally be a little bossy. I'm learning better manners! I know how to use a doggie door and I am potty trained. I've been trusted unsupervised in the house with no problems. I'm smart, trainable, and I walk nicely on a leash. I like to chase and bark at kitties, so I do need a home without any of those! My foster pawrent says I'm just great and describes me as an easy dream dog! Maybe I'm your fantasy pup? Story
To adopt or for more information, please visit http://TaysiaBlue.com Hello there! Cindy Lou here, reporting for duty and cheer! I’m looking to be a new addition to a family, and if you’re reading this, there’s a possibility we’re a perfect match for each other! I’m a super sweet girl, very cuddly. I love to snuggle and jump on laps! My foster says that I’ve got cuddles that would make even the Grinch blush! Turns out, I’d also be really good at a race up or down the Grinch’s mountain, too! I’m very athletic. With that, I’ve become a bit of a jumper, so it’s probably best we get a tall fence in my life, ASAP. Additionally, as much as my snuggles could tame the Grinch, I don’t love to snuggle with everything. Turns out I’ve got a very big prey drive with smaller animals (like cats) or other animals who are not like me. It would be best that I only go to a home where there are only similar-sized dogs. No cats or other animals, please! With all of that, if you’re looking for a lovely lady to go on adventures with, maybe even test your athletic ability alongside mine, then fill out an application for me, Cindy Lou!To adopt or for more information, please visit http://TaysiaBlue.com August 13, 2024, 8:34 pm

Story
Koda is a sweet, mild mannered and relaxed boy. He is almost 4 yrs old, 67 lb Husky/Malamute and thinks he’s a lap dog. He loves kids and is okay with cats but should probably be the only dog in the house.  He definitely will need a 6ft fence, after all he is a husky.  He enjoys long walks and playing ball. Koda is kennel trained and potty trained but when he goes to a new home he will need a refresher until he learns where the door is he needs to go to.  He loves to spend time with his humans and would prefer you be around more than not. Come out and meet Koda to see if he fits well into your family life style. The adoption fee is $350 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.  Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member. *****We are currently operating by appointment only due to a shortage of personnel.   If you want to meet this pet, please go to www.townandcountryhumanesociety.org and click Adopt.  Then scroll down to Online Application and select Dog Application.   Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted to set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home.   The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the dog counselors or the foster.   If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit. Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Humane Society and our mission. ##1629046##

Story
Molly is a young Husky/American Pit Terrier/German Shepard mix, born November 2022.  Molly is very affectionate - she loves to cuddle and give kisses.  She is energetic and needs a home with a large yard and a 6 foot fence.  She knows some commands i.e. sit, down, focus (touch the bridge of your nose and she will focus on you) and went to training classes as a puppy.  Molly likes to be around her people and prefers to have another dog or cat around, although she likes to keep her toys for herself.  She also is not a fan of being kenneled.  An open door is an invitation for her to run out, so keep an eye on her when opening the front door.  The perfect home would have a dog of her size or bigger, adults that are steady on their feet because she can tends to jump and can be clumsy, and no young kids.  Molly will need someone who is experienced with handling an energetic dog and someone who will give her a refresher with potty training. The suggested adoption donation for Molly is $350.  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life.  All donations go toward that mission.  Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals.  In 2021 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $307,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Meet Esteban! Esteban is a charming Husky puppy (b. 9/1/23) who is looking for a loving forever home with a family that can appreciate his strengths and help him work on a few areas where he could use some guidance. He's crate-trained and gets along well with other dogs, although he's a bit cautious around smaller ones. Cats are also a mystery to him at this point. This active boy loves children aged 6+ and is a total kisser once he feels comfortable! While he's a bit shy at first with new people and high-energy kiddos, patience and a gradual introduction will help him feel at ease. Esteban is a bundle of energy and enjoys running around in a fenced yard, so an active household that can keep up with his Husky spirit would be ideal. One thing he is still working on is his enthusiasm for exploration of the outdoors as he is known to bolt out the door if given the opportunity. However, he is making significant progress with potty training and learning not to jump up when excited. Esteban is vocal about his needs, especially when he needs to go outside. If you're an experienced Husky owner or someone willing to commit to an active lifestyle with plenty of love and patience, Esteban could be the perfect addition to your family. Come meet him and see if you're the family he's been waiting for. Adopting Esteban means embracing all the joy and adventure that comes with having a Husky companion! The suggested adoption donation for Esteban is $415, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Alter Agreement: If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital or Omaha Animal Medical Group in Omaha, at no cost to you. Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost. If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, the adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice. If proof of alter if received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $100 for dogs, and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses. All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed or neutered by 6 months of age. All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized. Please Note: A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we only assist the owner in finding a new home for their pet. Story
Introducing Presley, a Husky, born June 2023.  She is looking for a new place to call home!  Presley is looking for a place with no cats and maybe another medium to large size dog.  She is an energetic girl and would love to be with someone who has time to take her for a walk every day.  She prefers women and doesn't feel comfortable around men.  Presley loves to play fetch and tug-of-war.  She knows some commands and loves being active, so she will need a fenced yard.  Bonus points if you have experience with Huskies! The suggested adoption donation for Presley is $415, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. To adopt or for more information, please visit http://TaysiaBlue.com Hi, I am Aries, aka Big Lug! Would you like to play a game of tug? Or maybe you would just like to let me sit on your lap while you give me scratches? Whatever we do, I’ll be happy to be with you and, if you have them, the kids! I just love kids, their little hands are the best for scratches. I’m fine letting them touch my ears and paws. While I may be big and strong, I know how to be gentle with them. I’m pretty chill in my kennel as long as I have enough space to stretch out a bit. And I like eating there but I prefer to do it undisturbed. I am a well mannered gentleman overall. Sometimes I will jump on adults, but I’m working on it. I just want you to know how happy I am to see you. I know how to sit and shake and I’m also house trained and know to do by business outside. While I will happily share what you are eating, I don’t counter surf much or beg for a bite. What I don’t really like are other male dogs with dominant personalities and cats. I like to play and run around with my dog friends - and despite my size, I can move! - but I would be ok being your one and only too.To adopt or for more information, please visit http://TaysiaBlue.com August 13, 2024, 8:34 pm

To adopt or for more information, please visit http://TaysiaBlue.com Well, howdy, y'all! I am Sassafras, an extremely sweet Malamute/German Shepherd mix! While I don't quite remember my past, I can say that I am grateful I no longer roam the streets! I do enjoy the hoomans who have cared for me here and appreciate a comfortable and safe environment! I do very well with other dogs, that's not a problem for me! Playtime is my favorite time, other than the affection given by my foster hooman, of course. While I enjoy members of the same species, I do not quite know how I feel about other species....including kitties and little hooman sprouts. I believe I just need supervision upon interaction, as I have not yet branched out to them. Traditionally, Sassafras was used to purify and heal. Can I be please be the one to do that for you? I'd sure love it if you'd apply to meet me!To adopt or for more information, please visit http://TaysiaBlue.com August 13, 2024, 8:34 pm

If you're feeling called out right now, you probably found your new dog! I'm sweet! I melt hearts with my adorable floppy ears. I am friendly with both humans and other dogs, including the littlest ones. I do well with kids, small dogs, and even kitties! I'm a middle-aged gentleman so I'm not super high energy. I'd say I have medium energy at most. Don't underestimate my agility skills though! I can climb over a 4 foot fence, so I'll need a taller fence or a leash to keep me safe outside. Are you craving a lifelong supply of Hershey's kisses? Let's choco 'bout it.
