Story
Where are our Husky lovers??? This handsome boy's name is chief! He's an outside-loving pup who loves to go exploring and enjoying the world. Despite being 7-ish, Chief has plenty of energy and would love an active home with room to run and/or a jogging/hiking buddy! CHief is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. He does well with other dogs and has a puppy foster sister right now; he chases cats but hasn't harmed any. Chief LOVES people, gives kisses, enjoys car rides, and is dreaming of an adventure partner. Will you offer a foster-to-adopt or adoptive home? We aren't asking any adoption fee, just plenty of love! Adoption (note if applying to foster) applications can be filled out here: www.tiogacountycatproject.com/adoption

Story
It's True, I Act Like a Husky!Bear was born about December 16, 2017 and weighs about 35 lbs.  We must let you know right away that if you don't have Husky experience (in your adult life) your application will not be considered.  Bear is mixed, which shrunk his size, but he still has a whole Husky personality and has been nippy with humans entering the home and with the kids that were friends of his kids.  He did love his kids and they could do anything to him, but going forward no children in his next home, please.  He is one of those dogs that when company comes you will need to crate him or put him in a separate room and get your guests settled before he meets them and if you are walking on a street you will need to be wary of humans, and children, approaching him too quickly and too close since he really is quite stunning in appearance and humans are going to want to touch him.   Let's get the other negative out of the way - this boy SHEDS!!!  The good thing is that he adores being brushed and since he came to us very matted we had to shave him and he was SO wonderful about it as he sat on the woman's lap as she relieved him of A LOT of fur!  Bear has too much interest in cats to live with any comfortably.   Now for the good part - he loves car rides and is wonderful with other dogs and loves playing with them and is on the gentle side.  Bear moved in quickly and realized he lived here now and he adores all of us and we ADORE him!  He is a very quite guy and if he has something to say it's in the 'wooo-wooo' language and he is SO smart!  He listens to you and when you are talking to him you can tell in his gorgeous eyes that he is all about you and trying so hard to understand everything.  When treats are being handed out he lays quietly waiting for you to notice him and be sure to give him one.  Oh, and he LOVES water!  He loves to be in it and on it - boats, paddle boards, kayaks - he can do it all!!!   Someone (has to be the right someone) is going to love this boy to the moon and back!   The Adoption Fee for this dog is $400.00. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link 'Special Instructions to Seller' if you want to note a particular pet Before you seek to adopt a pet from Joyful Rescues, please read our Pet Adoption page http://www.joyfulrescues.org/pet_adoption.html. Story
Saved in Memory of Aunt Francie!'Nadia was born about May 8, 2016 and weighs about 50 lbs.  Nadia was adopted by a wonderful previous adopter several years ago and, sadly, had to come back to us because her human entered hospice care.  She did live with another male dog just a bit bigger than she is and they are surely close but we feel she will be fine as an only dog as long as her humans are around much of the time.  Nadia is good on car rides and is house trained.  She is not a big barker which we love and that probably comes from her Husky heritage.  Nadia was extremely loved and has had excellent veterinary care which we will pass along to her next home.  Nadia is very loving and longs to be nearby her human but there is probably a bit too much Husky in there to have her off leash.  She uses the dog door with ease and is a very intelligent girl.  We love her, we loved her last owner, and we feel terrible for all and are doing the best we can for them. Story
Coco and her sister Libby were abandoned at a military base, a popular dumping ground for unwanted animals. This gorgeous girl is shy until it comes to loving time, then she’s the first one to climb up onto your lap. Coco is a loyal girl, sticking close to anyone that befriends her. She’s good with other dogs, always playful. She’s good in a crate and house trained. Coco deserves a safe, stable loving home after her experience of abandonment.

Story
Libby and her sister Coco were abandoned at a military base, a popular dumping ground for unwanted animals. What a sweet, sweet, beautiful dog. Libby is quiet and gentle, a little shy but trusting. She’s happy to sit on the sofa next to a person for hours and equally happy to run and play with dogs. Libby is crate trained and house trained. She deserves a safe, stable loving home after her experience of abandonment.

Story
I got Chief when he was 8 weeks old. He is an amazing dog with tons of energy. He will be a year old on August 7th. He loves kids he has a very gentle dog. I don't know how he would do with cats or other dogs as he has not been around any. He would do well in a fenced in yard with tons of room to run. We currently have a 100 ft zip line for him. He is fully house broken and crate trained. He is a super intelligent dog that is extremely easy to train. He would strive in a home with a Woman. He has been home with myself and my 2 young children since I got him. He truly is an amazing dog and would make anyone an amazing companion. He has been trained on basic commands. He is very high energy and requires tons of play time. He is an amazing guard dog and barks when appropriate. He is a big cuddly baby
