Story
Have you ever seen such a HANDSOME boy ??!! Meet STORM. He is 18 months old; full of personality; SO SMART; playful and very loving ❤ Storm is up to date on his vaccines and rabies; and on monthly preventative for fleas/ticks and heartworms. He will be neutered and microchipped soon. Storm needs a family who is experienced with huskies and loves this breed. A physically fenced in yard would be beneficial for Storm to run and play in safely. He is still learning to walk on a leash. He is a true companion; expressive with his face and eyes; is very curious about everything; talkative at times; and eager to please. Due to his prey drive, a home with no small dogs and no cats is a must. Storm will probably excel as the only dog in the home, however with the right personality match, he gets along with other dogs his size. If you are interested in Storm please go to our website: wwwabetterlifeanimalrescue.com fill out our adoption application and send. We also require a home visit. We are on a mission to find Storm an amazing home.💕

Story
Meet Mika, a beautiful 7 month old and Husky/Shepherd mixed little girl! She currently weighs around 45 pounds and will likely be around 60 pounds full grown (just like her mom.) Mika loves to fetch and wrestle with other dogs. She is eager to explore the world around her and would make a wonderful walking or hiking buddy. She`s a quick learner and is already house trained, knows ‘sit’ and ‘shake’ and is doing wonderful with being crated at night. Mika`s boundless energy and love for life make her a wonderful fit for anyone needing a little spunk in their life. Adopting Mika means gaining a loyal friend, a partner in mischief, and a source of joy. Her zest for life is infectious, and she`s ready to share it with a loving family! Mika has been spayed, microchipped, and kept current on vaccines and monthly preventatives. For the first steps of adoption, please be sure to submit an application here: https://humanesocietyofwilkes.org/adopt/application/julians. Mika is safe in a foster home and is not in a shelter. For questions you can email the foster home at julianshumate@gmail.com and expect an email response within a week of applying.

Story
I got Navy when she was six weeks old from a breeder near where I live. Navy is now 3 years old and loves being outside and going to the park. She’s been to the dog park quite a few times and interacted with other dogs quite fine. She’s very talkative and will let you know when she wants something. She’s also potty trained and crate trained. She has a few tricks up her sleeve, she knows how to sit, stay, give paw, lay, speak, and touch. I’m not really sure how she does around cats considering she’s never been around any. She’s had behavioral problems and has bit due to food aggression, so I eliminated the things she was territorial with. Navy would need an experienced dog owner so they can work with her and train. She has such potential and is a very loving dog.

Story
Jack was discovered by his finder in her neighborhood and she then brought him here safely to us. Learning that he was already microchipped, we made numerous attempts to contact his registered owner, through various forms of communication... sadly, never hearing back.??Jack`s finder was able to learn a few things about him while he was in her care, which we can share with you to try to now find Jack a new family! Jack likes wet food, and his discerning palate for such was discovered by his host-finder-family, when their dry food offerings went uneaten. ?? He knows basic commands and this 4 year old also knows that he doesn`t like cats. She kept Jack and her cat separate while he was with her, however he would like his permanent home to be cat-free. Seems this 49 pound handsome husky with one curious, sky blue eye and one soulful, brown eye knows exactly what he likes and doesn`t like; which is something we all can relate to! Although Jack is a little nervous being here, and let`s be honest, he`s been through a lot... apparently in his own home for some time, then for whatever reason becomes a stray, now finds himself here at the shelter! Even with his slight nervousness, he still does so well for all exams and interactions here! He met a similar sized neutered male since his arrival to us and gave tail wags during the interaction. He was tolerant of the new friend, but after a little bit he pawed at his new friend as if to tell him, `okay- I think I`ve had enough now`. We will require meet and greets for Jack with other dogs and children with whom he may share a home, prior to adoption to make sure it`s a great fit for everyone! Please come and meet Jack in person to see if he may be just the forever family member you`ve been searching for!Jack`s fee is WAIVED!!
