Check out our Facebook page and YouTube channel for more pictures & videos of our adoptable dogs!To sponsor my trip to WI, go to  www.tailwaggers911.com  for more info! ***I am able to go home to my forever family right off of transport! You get a 5 day trial with me in your home. Put in your application soon!*** Please help me get out! I am currently in a place where there are lots of unwanted dogs and not all of us here get the chance I might have to leave! But in order to help me out of here to catch the ride to WI on September 6th and arrive on September 7th, I need *both* a sponsor, and a WI foster home *or* a WI adopter! I have a place for now, but I can't stay here forever. The rescue has put a hold on me to save my spot on the trip up north to WI, but now they need YOUR help to get me there - don't wait!!! Updated: 8/6/2024 Estimated Date of Birth: 10/6/23 Dog Name: Zena Sex: Female Estimated Breed Mix: Siberian Husky Approximate Age: 11 months Approximate Weight: 40 lbs Adoption Fee: $550 Description: Zena was running out of time in a very small rural Texas animal pound and she is such a sweetheart, she deserves a chance! This gorgeous girl is fostered with 4 other dogs and is loving every second of it. She loves to play with the younger fosters and is respectful of the older dogs in the home. She loves to play fetch and loves to cuddle! She carries around her stuffy (toy) and it’s the cutest thing! Zena is hoping to get out of the Texas heat and dreaming of WI snow this winter! This northern breed girl will flourish up in WI!We are a Wisconsin state licensed dog rescue -WI# 402433   ***We do not have a central adoption center at this time. All our dogs are in private foster homes within WI. At this time we only place our dogs in areas of WI. The breed of our dogs is our best guess with the help of our veterinarians. Our Weight Classes are as follows: 0- 25lbs - Small 26- 45lbs - Medium 46-89 - Large 90+ X-large If you are adopting an adult dog, which we consider 6 months of age or older, your adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper shots, dewormed, flea & tick preventative, heartworm tested and microchipped. If you are adopting a dog younger than 6 months of age, the dog will be up to date on the shots as per the dogs age. The dog will be dewormed, flea/tick preventative and microchipped. We only spay/neuter our dogs by 6 months of age. If you decide to adopt a younger dog than 6 months of age, they will need to be spayed/neutered at one of our preferred clinics. This will be determined by your contract along with the month they should have their surgery. This is included in your adoption fee. Once you are approved with our rescue, you can meet any one of our dogs within the fosters home. If you are interested in the dog you met, you can take the dog home under our mandatory foster to adopt program. You receive 5 days to see if the dog is the right fit for your home. If it is, we will conduct the home visit and finalize adoption. If it is not, it is returned to the foster. We are happy to find you another dog that meets your needs in your home. If a dog is listed as PENDING, a family has met the dog and planning on adopting the dog after the home visit has been conducted. We always suggest sending in an application for a dog because there are times where the dogs are given back to us under the foster to adopt program. There are many reasons dogs are returned but normally it just was not the right fit for all. Please go to WWW.TAILWAGGERS911.COM under HOW TO ADOPT . We have an online application that is very easy to fill out. August 15, 2024, 9:27 pm

Story
Intake Reason: Transferred from MADACCWeight: 82# Known with: ·Cats: Unknown ·Dogs: Unknown ·Kids: UnknownPersonality: Happy and playfulHi, my name is Biscuit and I am a jolly ol' soul who is looking for a new home. I was a stray at MADACC (Milwaukee Area Domestic Animal Control Commission) before I came to WCHS. I might as well get one topic out of the way because it is probably somewhat obvious from my photos; I am a smidge on the portly side. I'd like to claim it is just a little winter weight or that I'm just big-furred, but honestly it is due to a lack of exercise and a love of eating. I weigh about 82 pounds and that is really not healthy for me so I am hoping for an owner who will take my weight loss needs seriously. I will need a healthy low-calorie diet and daily low impact exercise to help me safely lose some pounds. I do enjoy walking, albeit it is more of a stroll. When I am out and about, I enjoy exploring with my nose in the tall grass. I am a mellow and cheerful chap who can be a bit vocal, especially when I want something. Speaking of desires, I am always begging for treats and rewards because I am always hungry; I do like to eat. I hope ‘treats' are still in my future because they make me happy but it would be best to make sure they are small, low-calorie and accounted for in my daily food intake. I enjoy scratches and attention so perhaps praise and affection can sometimes be used to indicate a job was well done, like when you ask me to ‘sit'. I like to spend time with humans and will roll over for a belly rub and all over massage. Since I am food-motivated it might be nice to turn mealtime into a mentally challenging game by using a foraging mat. I am a free-spirit and playful; an all-around happy guy. If you make me part of your family, I know that I will bring an abundance of sunshine and love with me; I am really looking forward to meeting you.#1

Story
Hey there! I'm Taz! I'm a young husky/shepherd mix that was surrendered to the shelter with my sister Trixie because we weren't getting along with the cat in the home. That being said, I've found myself homeless and in search of my new forever home! I have lived with kids in the past, and I am very friendly with them, but I am a jumpy and mouthy boy sometimes, so I would do best in a home with kids that are used to being around dogs like that. My sister and I are a bonded pair, and we love each other so, so much and would love to go to place that is willing to have twice the fun and take us both home! We are such great friends! We have a tendency to team up on other dogs, so we would need to go into a home that doesn't have other dogs in it already. I have a good amount of energy, love to go for walks and play in the yard with my sister, and also enjoy getting pets and attention from time to time as well! Staff and volunteers give me as much love as they can here, but I would really love to have a home of my own again where I can run and play to my heart's content! Could that be with you? Trixie and I would love to meet you! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 70.31 Age: 1yrs 3mths 1wks

Story
Hi friends! Trixie here! What's a gorgeous girl like me still doing here in the shelter? Good question! Answer - I have no clue! I surrendered to the shelter with my brother Taz because we didn't get along with the kitty that was in our home with us. I am such a sweet girl, would do well with kids that can respect my space when I get overwhelmed, and am pretty mellow considering I am a mix of two high-energy breeds! Taz and I are a bonded pair because we love each other so, so much and are pretty well-behaved when we are together! We love running in the yard together and play-wrestling every chance we get! We would love to find a home that is willing to have twice the fun and adopt us both! We know it would be asking a lot, but we would repay you with all the love and fun you can get! Could I be a good fit for you? Ask to meet me here at the shelter! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 68.94 Age: 3yrs 2mths 0wks
