Story
Meet Kavik, a beautiful 2-year-old, 50 lb. Chow Chow. Kavik already has many positive characteristics but will need an experienced adopter who will understand & meet his unique needs given his breed & experiences in life thus far.Kavik was a stray in Texas for many months, evading all attempts to catch him, until eventually being trapped.During his time on the run, Kavik experienced being hit by a car & negative interactions with other stray dogs. He doesn't like to leave his foster home to go on walks as he's extremely fearful & skittish when cars pass & when he hears or sees other dogs outside of home. However…Kavik very much enjoys the dogs of all sizes in his foster home! He showed little interest when briefly exposed to a cat. He's your typical Chow Chow. Kavik is loyal to his people, but wary of strangers. He spends most of his time resting but has the perfect amount of playfulness with toys & other dogs.A fenced in yard is a requirement to adopt Kavik as he's an extreme flight risk.DATCP#483538
