Story
(BONDED WITH CEREAL)My name is SOLSTICE (Lixia) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Terrier/Pekinese mixAge: 6 yrsGender: maleWeight: 13 lbsHeight: 8 inchesCountry of origin: ChinaHighlight(s): affectionate, cleanly, independent, gentle, quiet, obedient While independent, I also love affection. Since cleanliness is a big thing of mine, you can be assured you'll be snuggling a clean pup. My Chinese name, Lixia, means the beginning of Summer in my language. Quite appropriate, wouldn't you say? As I will bring sunshine into your life.A person who lives in the neighborhood of where we were found as strays saw us. Over the past four years, we were witnessed living together, relying on occasional leftover food from neighbors. This person always felt sorry for us, but lacked the means, ability, and courage to rescue us, all the while feeling guilty and helpless. Earlier this year, this lovely person noticed our condition deteriorating. We were navigating busy streets, scavenging from trash cans, and drinking dirty water mixed with food scraps and garbage. Our fur started getting matted and falling out, and I developed a bloody eye growth.Determined to save us, our overseeing angel posted our situation on social media. A rescuer  saw the plea and decided to help rescue us. We were transported to a nearby hospital for checkups and treatment. We were both severely malnourished and had poor coat conditions. We were properly treated and I underwent surgery for my eye problem. After treatment, we were discharged. Now our rescuer has taken us back to her town for foster care, until we can find a home together. I have been shaved down to treat my skin and remove all the mats. No worries, it will grow back for new photos later. It was discovered I have hypothyroidism and am on Euthyrox medication for it. I was checked for Cushing's, but that was negative. My most recent vet visit showed my hypothyroidism levels are back to normal, but continued monitoring is necessary, as it may be a lifelong condition. I have lost a few teeth and had dental tartar, but recently had a cleaning. I underwent eye surgery and needs regular eye drops to prevent dry eye. The vet confirmed my health is up to par at this time otherwise.I am well-behaved on a leash. Though I can get anxious if I feel too much separation from my people and quickly try to catch up. I am a sweet dog with an excellent temperament. I even willingly wear clothes. Good for those cold Canadian winters.Gentle and quiet is how my rescuer describes me. I am also an obedient pupper. I will line up patiently to wait for food too.My friend Xiaoman and I must be adopted together, as we are pretty bonded after surviving the streets together. We would likely adapt to most any home. We get along with other dogs, though we haven't been introduced to cats. This includes our transportation to Canada, if we are able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##2081369##

Story
URGENT! Due to a new law enacted in my country, the rescuers can't retain the refuge, so dogs need homes before the end of the year. Please help. Good day. I'm Kaysee (Daisy) and here's a bit if ingo about me:Breed: Jack Russell Terrier mixAge: 4 yrsGender: FemaleWeight: 16 kg (35 lbs)Height: 47 cm (18-1/2 in)Country of origin: Republic of GeorgiaHighlights: confident, loves games, active, intelligent, inquisitive, independent, feisty Being confident, I am always into learning new games, especially things like agility skills, hoping you are into active fun and adventure too.My rescuer thinks I might have been abandoned or lost by a tourist. I was found eating trash by a dumpster and was soaking-wet from days in the rain. (Our city is the rainiest in the Black Sea region.) My hind leg or hip seemed to be injured and I had trouble walking. Thankfully, they brought me to the shelter, so I could be safe.Since I am inquisitive and intelligent, it would be terrific if you could teach me new things. I really love going for walks and am excellent on leash.Other enjoyments include swimming and playing in the water.I am affectionate and love getting attention from my humans. For example, I really enjoy being brushed, groomed, and having my teeth brushed. I'm also an excellent model and can pose very nicely. I love wearing different outfits and getting my picture taken.I am an adventurous eater, too and like trying out different kinds of food, like carrots, pumpkin, and peanut butter. While I play well with other dogs, if persistently annoyed, I will in typical Jack fashion, give them a what for. So probably good if I have a sibling that they understand boundaries. I'm not competitive though and will share human attentions with others. My rescuers noticed that I tend to sit on one haunch, which rubs my ankle raw on the ground. When treated with ointment and wrapped in a stretchy bandage though, I keep pulling it off. My leg is healed though. They think it may be due to stress from overcrowding. Vets here can’t find anything wrong with me, but unfortunately, vet care here is poor. I would benefit from more personal attention, which they find alleviates much of my distress.Overall, I'm a nice little dog, who just needs a chance to flourish in a regular home environment. Energy Level:  ModerateI get along with:Dogs: YesCats: Unknown, but probably noKids: Unknown, but probably yes Fears: None observed. Please be patient with me during my transition.Training:Leash training: Yes, superb. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home. Health notes: It is uncertain if from a past injury or if some other hip issue exists. I could use a further eval.I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and will be microchipped before arrival. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. Hello, My name is DALTON and here is a little info about me:Breed: dachshund/Terrier mix Age: 3 years oldGender: Male, neuteredWeight: 18 lbs Height: 13 in Meet Dalton, a resilient and affectionate soul whose journey began on the streets of the Middle East. Despite his challenging start, this sweet boy's spirit remains unbroken, and his loving heart is ready to find his forever family. When our rescue team first found Dalton, he was a hungry, thin pup desperately searching for care. But even then, his gentle nature and trust in humans shone through. Now in foster care, Dalton's true personality has blossomed – he's a joy-filled, tail-wagging companion who lives to share his endless supply of kisses and cuddles. This energetic boy has so much love to give! He greets every person like a long-lost friend, his tail wagging with pure delight. While he gets along wonderfully with other dogs, he prefers a cat-free home where he can be his playful self. After a good walk or play session, Dalton transforms into the perfect cuddle buddy, ready to snuggle up for movie time with his humans.Dalton is house-trained and eager to learn – he just needs a patient family to help him adjust to his new home. His moderate to high energy makes him an ideal partner for active families or individuals who enjoy outdoor adventures followed by cozy evenings at home.Your love could be the final chapter in Dalton's journey from the streets to a forever home. Could you be the one to give this sweet boy the lifelong love and security he deserves? He just arrived to Vaccouver, please adopt him. Energy Level: Moderate/High I get along with:Dogs: YesCats: UnknownKids: Yes (with video proof) Prey drive: unknown/not observed. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. Due to the present confrontational Middle East environment where this dog resides, airlines are minimally operating. He/She may therefore be delayed in arriving to Canada. He/She will eventually be sent, but we have no specified timeframe at this moment. If you are willing to wait, we and this dog appreciate your patience. Most passengers from the Middle East now require a fee to accompany a dog on a flight. Due to this, if a rescuer finds a flight with this requirement, we will contact you to see if you are willing to pay the passenger. You are under no obligation to do this. If not, another flight will need to be searched for, though there is no guarantee a free or lower cost one will be found. Though oft times a passenger is requesting higher amounts, the fee will not exceed $250. Our rescuers work extremely hard finding flights and spend tremendous amounts of money caring for and sending these dogs to safety. They simply haven't the extra money to cover this. Thank you for your understanding. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Story
Hi, my name is Freeze and here is a little info about me:Breed: Terrier mixAge: 1-1/2 yearsGender: FemaleWeight: 3.5 kgHeight: 24 cmCountry of origin: Middle EastHighlight(s): Clever, affectionate, loving, curious, playful, sweet, cuddly This clever little girl is ready to start a new life with someone who will appreciate all her wits and give her loads of cuddles.I was dropped off at the shelter by my previous owners, as they no longer wanted to care for me (unfortunately this is a common story in my country, as people don't always view their dogs as members of the family or sometimes they no longer have resources to care for them.)My curious little self got myself into a bit of a tight squeeze the other day. My rescuer couldn't find me anywhere. After spending some time searching for me, they finally found me inside of the freezer, which one of the employees had gone into earlier - I'm a quick little houdini and snuck in without the employee noticing. I was scared and shaking when they found me after a couple hours, but I didn't even bark while trapped inside. Luckily I am perfectly ok from my ordeal, albeit cold, and my rescuer found some inspiration for naming me - "Freeze!"Everyone who meets me says I am curious, affectionate and playful. I love to play with dogs as much as people and I love to play with toys too. Oh and chew sticks are great.Curiosity can obviously get me into trouble, so my new family should keep an eye out for me when they're not cuddling up to me on the couch. That same curiosity can make me eager & easy to learn though. I've already learned how to walk well on leash and I am friendly with everyone. My ideal life is spending time on your lap and loving my family to no end. I'd probably enjoy a nice warm jacket for winter. Teehee. I've already become acclimated for Canadian winters, as you have read. So, we should do fine taking leisurely walks together.  Other vids and me with dogs: https://youtube.com/shorts/duGHTypDrHY?feature=share, https://youtube.com/shorts/7sDqtLGkLnU?feature=share, https://youtube.com/shorts/tBv2ougWkx0.
