Story
(BONDED WITH CEREAL)My name is SOLSTICE (Lixia) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Terrier/Pekinese mixAge: 6 yrsGender: maleWeight: 13 lbsHeight: 8 inchesCountry of origin: ChinaHighlight(s): affectionate, cleanly, independent, gentle, quiet, obedient While independent, I also love affection. Since cleanliness is a big thing of mine, you can be assured you'll be snuggling a clean pup. My Chinese name, Lixia, means the beginning of Summer in my language. Quite appropriate, wouldn't you say? As I will bring sunshine into your life.A person who lives in the neighborhood of where we were found as strays saw us. Over the past four years, we were witnessed living together, relying on occasional leftover food from neighbors. This person always felt sorry for us, but lacked the means, ability, and courage to rescue us, all the while feeling guilty and helpless. Earlier this year, this lovely person noticed our condition deteriorating. We were navigating busy streets, scavenging from trash cans, and drinking dirty water mixed with food scraps and garbage. Our fur started getting matted and falling out, and I developed a bloody eye growth.Determined to save us, our overseeing angel posted our situation on social media. A rescuer  saw the plea and decided to help rescue us. We were transported to a nearby hospital for checkups and treatment. We were both severely malnourished and had poor coat conditions. We were properly treated and I underwent surgery for my eye problem. After treatment, we were discharged. Now our rescuer has taken us back to her town for foster care, until we can find a home together. I have been shaved down to treat my skin and remove all the mats. No worries, it will grow back for new photos later. It was discovered I have hypothyroidism and am on Euthyrox medication for it. I was checked for Cushing's, but that was negative. My most recent vet visit showed my hypothyroidism levels are back to normal, but continued monitoring is necessary, as it may be a lifelong condition. I have lost a few teeth and had dental tartar, but recently had a cleaning. I underwent eye surgery and needs regular eye drops to prevent dry eye. The vet confirmed my health is up to par at this time otherwise.I am well-behaved on a leash. Though I can get anxious if I feel too much separation from my people and quickly try to catch up. I am a sweet dog with an excellent temperament. I even willingly wear clothes. Good for those cold Canadian winters.Gentle and quiet is how my rescuer describes me. I am also an obedient pupper. I will line up patiently to wait for food too.My friend Xiaoman and I must be adopted together, as we are pretty bonded after surviving the streets together. We would likely adapt to most any home. We get along with other dogs, though we haven't been introduced to cats. This includes our transportation to Canada, if we are able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##2081369##

Please contact Robyn at 604-716-8204 or rfashler@gmail.com for more information or to adopt. Dog's name: PennyAge: 10Breed, if known (best guess): Jack Russell Terrier mixWeight: 12.9kg / 28lbsGender: Female **NEW FUR-EVER HOME OR LONG-TERM FOSTER NEEDED** Meet Miss Penny! Penny is a wonderful dog. She is smart, sweet, chill, and loves spending quality time with her humans, though she is not much of a cuddler. Some of her favourite activities are basking in the sunshine, sniffing through tall grass, gazing out windows, and joining her humans on car rides or road trips.  Penny is also extremely adaptable, flexible, and HIGHLY trainable. She's got all of her foundational commands down, plus some fancier ones, cooperative care protocol, and she's nice & polite walking on lead.  Penny is a VIP and needs to be in a one-dog, no-kid home. Penny is reactive to some situations and that does require management. Part of this is taking anti-anxiety medication (x3)/day. She would be best suited to someone who is experienced with behaviour modification and positive reinforcement training methods. I will be happy to have a full conversation regarding this with whoever is interested in adopting Penny. Penny is in excellent health, spayed, and is up to date on all of her shots.  We are asking for $150 which will be donated to the BCSPCA. Alternatively, for those who are interested in fostering her, the time frame we are looking for is ~1.5yr. Life with Penny is incredibly fulfilling, rewarding, fun, and heartwarming.  For those who are interested, please contact Robyn at 604-716-8204. THIS IS A COURTESY POST. Story
URGENT! Due to a new law enacted in my country, the rescuers can't retain the refuge, so dogs need homes before the end of the year. Please help. Good day. I'm Kaysee (Daisy) and here's a bit if ingo about me:Breed: Jack Russell Terrier mixAge: 4 yrsGender: FemaleWeight: 16 kg (35 lbs)Height: 47 cm (18-1/2 in)Country of origin: Republic of GeorgiaHighlights: confident, loves games, active, intelligent, inquisitive, independent, feisty Being confident, I am always into learning new games, especially things like agility skills, hoping you are into active fun and adventure too.My rescuer thinks I might have been abandoned or lost by a tourist. I was found eating trash by a dumpster and was soaking-wet from days in the rain. (Our city is the rainiest in the Black Sea region.) My hind leg or hip seemed to be injured and I had trouble walking. Thankfully, they brought me to the shelter, so I could be safe.Since I am inquisitive and intelligent, it would be terrific if you could teach me new things. I really love going for walks and am excellent on leash.Other enjoyments include swimming and playing in the water.I am affectionate and love getting attention from my humans. For example, I really enjoy being brushed, groomed, and having my teeth brushed. I'm also an excellent model and can pose very nicely. I love wearing different outfits and getting my picture taken.I am an adventurous eater, too and like trying out different kinds of food, like carrots, pumpkin, and peanut butter. While I play well with other dogs, if persistently annoyed, I will in typical Jack fashion, give them a what for. So probably good if I have a sibling that they understand boundaries. I'm not competitive though and will share human attentions with others. My rescuers noticed that I tend to sit on one haunch, which rubs my ankle raw on the ground. When treated with ointment and wrapped in a stretchy bandage though, I keep pulling it off. My leg is healed though. They think it may be due to stress from overcrowding. Vets here can’t find anything wrong with me, but unfortunately, vet care here is poor. I would benefit from more personal attention, which they find alleviates much of my distress.Overall, I'm a nice little dog, who just needs a chance to flourish in a regular home environment. Hello, My name is DALTON and here is a little info about me:Breed: dachshund/Terrier mix Age: 3 years oldGender: Male, neuteredWeight: 18 lbs Height: 13 in Meet Dalton, a resilient and affectionate soul whose journey began on the streets of the Middle East. Despite his challenging start, this sweet boy's spirit remains unbroken, and his loving heart is ready to find his forever family. When our rescue team first found Dalton, he was a hungry, thin pup desperately searching for care. But even then, his gentle nature and trust in humans shone through. Now in foster care, Dalton's true personality has blossomed – he's a joy-filled, tail-wagging companion who lives to share his endless supply of kisses and cuddles. This energetic boy has so much love to give! He greets every person like a long-lost friend, his tail wagging with pure delight. While he gets along wonderfully with other dogs, he prefers a cat-free home where he can be his playful self. After a good walk or play session, Dalton transforms into the perfect cuddle buddy, ready to snuggle up for movie time with his humans.Dalton is house-trained and eager to learn – he just needs a patient family to help him adjust to his new home. His moderate to high energy makes him an ideal partner for active families or individuals who enjoy outdoor adventures followed by cozy evenings at home.Your love could be the final chapter in Dalton's journey from the streets to a forever home. He can fly to Vancouver once he finds his perfect match. Could you be the one to give this sweet boy the lifelong love and security he deserves?" He/She may therefore be delayed in arriving to Canada. He/She will eventually be sent, but we have no specified timeframe at this moment. If you are willing to wait, we and this dog appreciate your patience. Most passengers from the Middle East now require a fee to accompany a dog on a flight. Due to this, if a rescuer finds a flight with this requirement, we will contact you to see if you are willing to pay the passenger. You are under no obligation to do this. If not, another flight will need to be searched for, though there is no guarantee a free or lower cost one will be found. Though oft times a passenger is requesting higher amounts, the fee will not exceed $250. Our rescuers work extremely hard finding flights and spend tremendous amounts of money caring for and sending these dogs to safety. They simply haven't the extra money to cover this. Thank you for your understanding. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Hello, My name is Lynx and here is a little info about me: Breed: Terrier/Bichon mixAge: About 2 years oldGender: Male, neuteredWeight: 15 lbs / 6.8 kgHeight: 13 in Highlight(s): Good with other dogs, kids, people, very affectionate I was found roaming the streets in a small town in the Middle East. I was underweight, dirty, and very hungry.  Thankfully, it seemed I hadn't been abused by humans while surviving on the streets, as I readily accepted food from those kind enough to offer.  I've learned to love and accept human attention, it was really missing in my life.  My rescuer saw what a kind pup I was, and found it in her heart to provide me a chance at a new life off the streets and in a shelter, where I've received vet care, socialization with other displaced dogs, and love and attention by the humans who work/volunteer here. I'm a pretty cute guy-- have you noticed my sweet eyes?!  I love making new friends with the humans and shelter mates where I'm staying.  It's been a relief to be off the streets, however I know that there's a better life out there for me.  I am a very smart pup!  Eager to please, it doesn't take me long to understand commands with the right guidance.  Given the opportunity, I will learn all the tricks you have the patience to teach me. My rescue mom often tells me that I'm well-behaved and don't cause any trouble. I have not shown any signs of aggression towards people and other dogs. I really don't get a chance to run around at the shelter as I live in a small crowded yard with a small room but, being a young dog, I require daily activities and really want to be given the opportunity to run. It would be so amazing to go for walks and hikes with my forever family in Canada. I am looking forward to finding my forever home where I can settle down and make endless memories.  Energy Level: Medium/High I get along with:Dogs: YesCats: UnknownKids: Yes  Fears: Unknown/none observed. Story
This little cutie is named Bristol!   Bristol is a sweet Jack Russell Terrier mix. He is 4 years old and weighs ~15 lbs.  Bristol’s journey to safety was nothing short of a miracle. He was found running on a busy highway in Guadalajara, narrowly escaping danger as cars sped by. In a moment of true bravery, his rescuer stopped traffic to save him from what could have been a tragic ending. Bristol was taken into the care of our rescue partners and his days of hardship on the streets are behind him. He’s ready for a fresh start with the forever family he so deserves.  Bristol is now living with a foster family in Guadalajara. He shares his home with dogs, cats, adults, and kids. He’s great with dogs of all ages & sizes, and gets along well with kitties too. Bristol has shown himself to be one of the most friendly, well-rounded dogs you’ll meet. He’s an absolute sweetheart, always smiling, wagging his tail, and showing off his social charm. Being an adult dog, Bristol has moved past the “rambunctious puppy phase”. He’s very adaptable, takes things in stride, and rolls with whatever the day may bring. He enjoys daily walks and treasures quality time spent with his humans. Bristol has a gentle & easygoing nature, with a moderate energy level suitable for the average person/family. Living at a foster home, Bristol has mastered house training and uses a doggy door to let himself out for potty time. He has also learned leash walking and riding in a car. At night, he likes to sleep in his own doggy bed and snoozes like a champ right through the night. His fosters say that he is a well-behaved, intelligent boy who quickly learned the household rules & routines.  Bristol would be a perfect addition to any home, whether with a single person, a couple, or a family with kids. He would do well either as an only pet or alongside other dogs or cats. We are certain that this little dude will adjust well to his new home and fit like a glove with his future family.   VETTING:  Fully vaccinated.  Neutered.  Dewormed.  SNAP 4Dx negative (Heartworm, Lyme disease, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasma). Distemper negative.  Flea/tick/heartworm prevention. No known medical issues or injuries. He is missing a couple teeth from his time on the streets, but he has no issues with chewing/eating regular kibbles. He had a recent dental cleaning so his chompers are sparkly clean!   PLEASE NOTE: Bristol is currently in Mexico. There will be a $235 fee for transportation to BC. This will be discussed upon approval. ##2211695##

Story
✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to Vancouver & Toronto💟 Meet Chunjang🩶 * Chunjang was noticed by an Adogs volunteer after being neglected by an elderly owner, having given birth several times to puppies. The elderly owner kicked out Chunjang after neighbors who had been taking care of Chunjang moved away, leaving Chunjang shivering in fear when seeing her owner. * Toward People: Shows affection and follows people who are familiar to her, but needs time to open her heart to strangers. * Toward Dogs: Has no problems with the other dogs at the Center. Prefers to rest on her own rather than play with friends. * Separation Anxiety: Unknown since she is living with other dogs at the Center. * Potty Training: Is only pottying outdoors since she is living at the Center. 💌Special Notes💌 * Knows how to sit. Is practicing other tricks.

✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to Vancouver & Toronto💟 Meet Lea💗 Lea was staying at the Gimje shelter with #AdgsMoni. The cold weather made the shelter more difficult circumstances for tiny dogs to survive. Moni was rescued first and Lea was later rescued when Adogs staff revisied the shelter for the installment of cold insulation material and saw Lea shivering in the cold. * With People: Is a cute puppy who likes people. Is full of affection, holding out her face to be petted when people reach out their hands. * With Dogs: Is getting along well with other dogs at the Center without any problems. * Separation Anxiety: It is unknown because she is staying in the Center. Is a lithle puppy, so she may need retraining in a new environment. * Potty Training: Has just started a potty training. There may be occasional mistakes, but is doing well on potty pads. Is a little puppy, so she may need retraining in a new environment. * Car Sickness: Is stsying calm without car sickness. 💌Special Notes💌 * Is a little puppy, so she may need potty training or other training to fix separation anxiety, biting, nipping, whining, destroying, howling, and barking. * It is difficult to predict the grown-up size or shading because het parents are unknown.

Story
Currently in Vancouver!!! Meet Macy, a delightful 5-year-old spayed female terrier mix with an adorable brown and white coat, weighing in at 6.5kg. She’s the perfect combination of charm and tranquility, and her personality is sure to steal your heart. Macy might be a bit shy at first, but offer her a treat, and she’ll warm up in no time—letting you pet her and even showing her belly! While she’s not a fan of sudden movements or loud noises from children under 13, she’s otherwise gentle and approachable. She’s even comfortable being picked up when cradled properly. When it comes to other dogs, Macy is polite and curious, happily greeting them but preferring to stick to herself rather than joining in on rough-and-tumble play. She’s more at ease with dogs her size or smaller and tends to shy away from big or overly energetic ones. Even when provoked, Macy is the peacekeeper, quietly stepping away and showing little interest in canine drama. On walks, her focus is fully on her human, even when cats cross her path! Macy has a wonderfully low energy level and loves nothing more than relaxing at home. She’s a dream on walks, never pulling on the leash and happily matching her pace to yours. She’s quiet as a mouse, doesn’t guard her food, and is perfectly comfortable in a crate. While car rides can be a bit daunting for her, she’ll do fine if carried into the vehicle. Plus, she’s 100% potty trained for outdoor living—no mess, no stress! Macy’s foster journey has been incredible. Having started as a timid soul, she’s spent six months with a trainer and has made tremendous strides in overcoming her fears of people. Now, she confidently shows her belly to strangers and enjoys affection from those around her. She knows basic commands like “come,” “sit,” and “paw,” and while she’s calm at home, she’s always ready for a cuddle or a stroll with her favorite humans. Maxy is great with grooming too—nail trimming, bathing, and even teeth brushing are no problem! If you’re looking for a mellow, sweet companion who’s ready to love and be loved, Macy might just be the perfect match for you! Story
Meet Jinju, a 6-7-year-old spayed female terrier mix with a charming black-and-white coat, weighing in at a petite 6.7 kg. This lovely girl was rescued from a municipal shelter and has since proven to be a true gem. Jinju is a social butterfly who adores people, whether they’re familiar faces or new friends. She warmly approaches strangers for pets and cuddles and even allows herself to be scooped up with ease. Her gentle nature extends to children under 13, whom she interacts with beautifully. When it comes to canine company, Jinju greets other dogs politely but prefers to observe rather than join in on the play. She’s most comfortable around dogs her size or smaller and feels a bit overwhelmed by high-energy companions or larger pups. That said, she’s not particularly interested in other dogs and is perfectly content to focus on her people. Cats and birds don’t seem to catch her attention during walks, but further observations can be made at request. Jinju is a low-energy, easygoing girl who loves nothing more than lounging peacefully indoors. However, she’s always excited to head out for a stroll and is a pro on the leash, walking calmly by your side without pulling. She’s also a quiet pup who rarely barks, doesn’t mind sharing her food or toys, and behaves beautifully in a kennel. While she typically prefers doing her business outside, she’s well-mannered enough to adapt to your routine. With her serene demeanor, affectionate personality, and love for human companionship, Jinju is the perfect blend of calm and cuddly. She’s happiest soaking up attention at home or enjoying leisurely walks with her favorite people. This sweet girl is ready to find her forever home—could it be yours?
