Story
Howdy, everyone! Dolly here. I’m an outgoing girl who is good with most dogs and people. I was just spayed Oct. 8, and am now UTD on my shots, microchipped, and ready to roll after recovery. I am a sweet girl about 2 years old and am the “beige version” of my already-adopted sister, Penny (now Cookie). I am learning to walk on a leash and am really getting the hang of it. Before, I would just lie there like a brick and stare at you. Now I know it means we’re going on adventures! Woohoo! As with all of the rescues here, I will require a secure, above-ground fenced yard to keep me safe. https://www.jackrusselladoptions.org/adopt-a-dog/

Story
Hi, everyone. I’m Katie and I’m a special girl! I am beautiful and happy to be with my favorite people but very independent as far as most human society is concerned. I have come a long way since I arrived here at rescue in 2023. I came from the same backyard breeder as Angel and her puppies (Grace and Blackberry), but luckily I escaped the terrible genetic defect that shortened little Blackberry’s life. I will probably never be a true cuddle pup, but I’m good with other dogs, I love my porch life and my Dogloo and I definitely enjoy Benebones to the fullest! I’m not a fan of leash walking — and yes, they are working on that with me, but so far I’m “winning.” As you know, there’s stubbornness and then there’s JRT stubborn. 😉 When you look in my eyes, you see that I was not given the life I should have had and now that it is available, I sometimes don’t quite believe in it. I’m about 3 years, old, UTD on my shots, microchipped, and, most importantly, spayed! I will make a great quiet companion … well, unless the delivery truck arrives! I would do best in a house without small children as I have never been around them and they might make me uncomfortable. As with all of the rescues here, I will need a secure, above-ground fence to keep me safe. https://www.jackrusselladoptions.org/adopt-a-dog/

Story
Me and my family retrieved Jack from the Dog shelter truck around October 2023 during a fall festival. What caught my eye was that he was so energetic. He was a puppy then. He is now approaching 2yrs old I think his birthday slips me sometimes. He's a very very good dog. Lots of personality and communication. Lots of energy so would do well with a family loves to play fetch or Tug he can do that all day if you let him. He's not aggressive by far. He hates thunder storms and will seek you for comfort. He is a jumper and is very excited to meet new people yet he is not dangerous. Never bit me or my kids never once. I would advise if you have a backyard make sure all escape areas are taken care of because he is a escape artist lol. Yet he will come back home. Just looking for a home where he can get the love and attention he deserves. Unfortunately me and my family have been evicted and we can't take him to extended stay. Please help us find Jack a new loving home.

Story
I adopted Biscuit from his previous owner, who unfortunately did not provide proper training or boundaries. He is currently 1 years old and full of energy. I am looking for a home that matches his high activity level and someone who enjoys outdoor adventures, has time for consistent training, and can provide him with the patience and structure he needs. Biscuit is playful, intelligent, and affectionate but also very stubborn and strong-willed. He thrives in an environment where he can be active and engaged. He is best suited for a home without cats or large dogs, as he has shown some reactivity. While he is potty trained and knows his commands, he needs someone who can reinforce discipline consistently. Ultimately, I want Biscuit to be in a home where he will be given the attention and energy he deserves. He is a great dog, but he needs a lifestyle that aligns with his personality.

Story
JosieBreed: Jack Russel TerrierFemaleDOB: 1/10/19Adoption Fee: $200Josie is a very sweet girl, who loves a snuggle and belly rubs. She was abandoned outside as a puppy, and has real anxiety about being outside. It is pretty sad to see, but we’re working through it. Inside though, she is a joyful dog that loves to lay by your side, play with toys, and is good with calmer dogs. She has a funny personality, and even likes to do a little dance for her supper. She understands sit, stay, shake, lay down, and is good on a leash. Josie is obviously a very smart dog, but the fear of going outside is her struggle in life, and as such, will need continued support in poty training. This is Josie's second time at the rescue. She has been in a foster home since October, where they are working to help her and love her, but she'll need someone to pick up where they leave off. She needs a patient and understanding adopter, who is able to work with her in a calm and loving environment. She really is a sweetheart, but so scared of being outside. This special dog needs a special someone to show her the way. Please read the animal bios completely before requesting additional information as we do our best to answer the most frequently ask questions in these bios. We are open 10am-5pm Monday-Saturday, we schedule our last adoption at 4pm everyday to allow our staff enough time to feed and walk dogs. We are an animal shelter and therefore are not able to individually potty train our residents. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period. Please keep this in mind. Puppies do not have the biological maturity to maintain absolute bladder or bowel control and will require a certain degree of potty training and house breaking. Please consider the time and commitment it takes to provide the necessary building blocks for these special babies, prior to submitting your application. If you have any questions please email us at info@humanemorgan.org and provide name of the animal you are interested in, in the subject line.
