Story
Hey Y'all, Grady here. Since I first met you, I have grown HUGE. I fit the category of "Gentle Giant" and "Ninja". I have also been called a horse. But, whatever you want to call me, sweet & kind fits best. January 16, 2024 I turned 1 year old. My foster mom said I weigh 110 lbs. There is nothing more that I love than kisses on my nose and head, scratches, hugs, swiping something from right under your nose, hanging out in my crate, hanging out at your feet, squishing myself into small areas (close to you) for a nap. I love playing in the sprinkler, playing chase with my fur-siblings here in foster care. I am dog social, love my people (nervous at first with new people but warm up quickly), house trained, crate trained, car rides. My mom is a Mountain Cur and dad a Labradoodle. All of my siblings have been adopted. For some reason I am still here. It is not a bad place, actually quite fun. I love the cold weather (we had snow this year).  My ideal furever family would love to snuggle, have patience, go hiking, camping, play in the water (sprinklers are perfect), go for car rides, and go to the beach. I have heard all about it. I think that is for me.

Story
Ruffles Henson is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! Meet Ruffles, a 1-2-year-old, 50-pound poodle mix with a heart full of love! This sweet girl is a little shy at first but quickly warms up, especially with the help of a confident canine friend. She thrives in a home with another dog or an adopter who is home often, as she struggles with being alone. Ruffles is fantastic with both people and dogs, house- and crate-trained, and eager to please. She loves spending time outside, going for car rides, and soaking up all the pets and snuggles she can get. After some playtime, she’s always ready to curl up for a cuddle or a nap. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal companion who just needs a little extra support, Ruffles is your girl! Story
Meet Lightning, a ten month old Lab mix from Puerto Rico. He's currently coming in just over 56 lbs and will more than likely top out at 60-65 lbs once he's fully grown. Lightning, first and foremost, is a nervous nelly. He's shy around new people, new sights, new sounds - anything that's outside of the small world he's gotten used to. Needless to say, taking everything he had gotten used to in Puerto Rico and throwing it out the window to come up here and do it all over again took a toll on the poor pup! Both staff and volunteers will be able to tell you about his resilience when it comes to just how much progress he's made since the first day he arrived. As long as you're willing to take the time and sit with Lightning (and maybe bribe him with a few snacks) he'll be your best friend in no time. He's a wonderful dog once he's comfortable! He's affectionate and eager to please those he trusts.Despite how scared he is of just about everything, Lightning has proven to do well with other dogs! You'll finally catch a glimpse of the puppy in him as he hops around, wags, and zips around with his new friend. If they're not the type to want to be involved with a puppy, he'll give them the space they need and socialize with people until they're ready to say hello. Cats, too, he's been perfect with. He's inquisitive while knowing what it means when they want him to back off, and will slink away as soon as they start to hiss and spit. The ideal home for Lightning would be one with ample time to get him accustomed to his surroundings without overwhelming him. He's still a puppy, even if he's a 50 pound one! He'll need baby steps for everything, whether it be learning the neighborhood or learning the sound of the car. While it's delayed far past the usual window, socialization will be a huge key in having Lightning acclimate to his new home and aging into his best self. We recommend not having any kids in the home, as their unpredictability will almost definitely be a little too much for him.

Story
Maggie is the world's most lovable animal. She has only ever had 2 emotions, extremely happy or scared. We bought her from a farm in Pennsylvania a little over a year and a half ago as a puppy for I think around 600 dollars. She is 100 percent pure bred white lab. Unfortunately she is and always has been afraid of almost anything outside of her house and yard, and doesn't appear to trust people until she really gets to know them. She has never been angry in her life. She is exceedingly obedient and will do absolutely anything if she understands what you are asking, and she is also very smart and can pick things up very quickly. We love Maggie and that's why we are choosing to give her up. Due to covid I have had to change jobs and she is home alone all day every day, and we have no kids to play with her in the evening. We would really like her to go to a home with kids who can give her all the attention she desperately craves. All she wants is to be close to people and be happy.

Story
Meet Davi! This adorable puppy is 4 months old and is such a sweetheart!! He is a rescue from Mississippi and has been at the shelter since November 2024 along with his siblings, patiently waiting for a forever home! Davi is very playful and food motivated! He loves his kongs and playing with rope toys. He gets along well with other dogs in the shelter, and loves playing with his siblings. He is not potty trained yet and he does pretty well on a leash but could use some leash training as well as basic training. He is still young and ready to learn! He is fixed and is up to date on all vaccinations for his age. He has been waiting so patiently for a home, could you be ready for a new furry friend! Consider taking Davi home!
