Story
This is Crockett, a stunning wolfhound(?)/schnauzer(?)/doodle(?)/labrador(?) mix, who was surrendered to us because city life was too exciting for him. Crockett is a big, strong boy, at almost 100lbs. He has a medium energy level and has been completely appropriate with every dog we've ever introduced him to. He is comical, eager to please, smart, affectionate.....and sometimes a bit stubborn! He is very chill and is not the kind of dog that is up in your face all the time.Crockett would do best in a suburban or rural area, with dog savvy adult owners that like to throw a ball and perhaps another dog. Due to his size, Crockett would not be a good fit for a home with children. Please note that Crockett will need regular grooming. This dog is being cared for by: National Greyhound Adoption Program 10901 Dutton Road Philadelphia, PA 19154 PA Kennel License #3069. Our adoption areas include PA, NJ, NY, CT, DE, MD, DC and NoVA.

Story
Chip, a loving Labradoodle, seeks a new home! He's incredibly friendly, playful, and bonds easily with people and animals. Great with kids and other dogs, he's adaptable and intelligent, making him a perfect fit for any owner. Our move from suburban North Carolina to downtown Philadelphia has presented challenges. Chip needs a home with an active individual or family who can dedicate time to his energy and affection needs. He's well potty-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained. He only needs help managing his excitement around house guests and leashed dogs. With consistent guidance, he'll thrive. Please contact if you’re interested in providing a forever home to this wonderful dog! As his owner of 4 years, I can attest to what a special pup he is.

Story
We don’t know how this stunning girl hasn’t caught someone’s eye yet. Beautiful Buttercup is around 1 year old and 55lbs.    Buttercup is a well-mannered house guest! She is already crate trained, potty trained and isn’t destructive. She is a friendly and social gal who seeks attention. Her  ideal home is one that is quiet but will provide her plenty of exercise time. We think Buttercup gets a little overstimulated if there is a lot going on. Buttercup LOVES to be outside! She enjoys playing in the yard and also just exploring so a fenced yard is needed. She is dog friendly and  would be fine with or without a dog friend. Buttercup enjoys walks and would be a good buddy for an active person but she does still need some work on her overly excited nature when  encountering other dogs.    Buttercup would love nothing more to find her forever home in time for the holidays so she can start settling in. This girl is so sweet and deserves her forever family. If you are interested in Buttercup please email us at almosthome4dogs@yahoo.com (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) Story
AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! Liberty pup is a three month old mixed breed who weighs around 17 lb. She recently arrived from a crowded rural shelter and is quickly learning the comforts of a home. She is playful, confident, and curious and likes exploring her new surroundings inside and outside.    Liberty pup is dog friendly and is in a foster home with a few other dogs. She tends to be the one to initiate play and loves a good wrestling match. She is working on the puppy fundamentals like crate training and house training. Potential adopters should be willing to provide adequate daily exercise and continue her training and socialization as she grows into a well-balanced adult. After spending weeks in a shelter, she is overdue to find her family and start her new chapter!   Email almosthome4dogs@yahoo.com to request an application to adopt Liberty pup and see if she is a good match for your family!   Please email us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com for more info or an application. (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) NOTE: Most puppies do best in the company of an older dog who can teach them "doggy manners," so homes with at least one other dog usually will be given preference in puppy adoptions. Please read Suzanne Clothier's wonderful article, "It Takes a Pack to Raise a Puppy!" PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! Story
Paxton is a friendly, sweet and gentle guy looking for his forever family! He is just under or around 1 year old. He is a thick boy at 70 lbs but is gentle and pretty calm for his young age.    Paxton is great with both male and female dogs. He also would be a good match for a home with kids. He walks nicely on a leash and has not been reactive to passing kids, dogs or bikes while out on a stroll. He enjoys a more leisurely pace versus a brisk walk.    Paxton just arrived to use recently but so far has been accident free and doing well in his crate at his foster home. He is a lovely boy to have as a house guest while he waits for his forever family! He is content entertaining himself with toys and bones when inside and will be glad to curl up with you on the couch if there is an open spot. Paxton looks to his people for encouragement when he encounters a new situation and is always glad to receive pets and love.    Paxton would be a great addition to many families and homes! If you are interested in him email us at almosthome4dogs@yahoo.com!  (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.)
