Story
Hi, I'm Freddie. I'm a handsome and regal looking 4 yr. old, 73 lb. black lab mix. I'm playful, friendly and affectionate. In spite of all my great qualities, I spent over a year in a shelter before SPOT rescued me (Black dogs and large breeds frequently get unfairly passed over by adopters for some reason) I love toys of all kinds and enjoy chasing a ball. I still haven't quite mastered that part about bringing it back! I get along great with other dogs and people. Unfortunately, cats, not so much. Since coming to SPOT, I have worked with a trainer to develop my leash manners and to follow basic commands. I would like to learn even more, if my new family will work with me. (Just to make sure I get off on the right track, SPOT will provide refresher sessions with my Trainer. I recently had some surgery to fix my leg and its all better.I love my daily brisk walks and romps in the backyard. Since I am a big strong dog, you should probably have experience with bigger dogs. Freddie is a dog who, more than anything deserves a second chance! He will reward that lucky family who adopts him with a lifetime of love and loyalty. Could you be that family? If you think you might, please fill out an application so we can arrange for you to meet Freddie. Freddie's Adoption fee is $300 and includes neuter, microchip and current vaccinations. To fill out an adoption application, visit https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SSP-A-823 To follow Freddie on his journey to a loving family on SPOT's Facebook page, visit https://facebook.com/spotsavespets/ and on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/spotsavespets/

Story
How this pet arrived: Evergreen was brought in by a community member on May 10, 2024. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Evergreen, a sweet girl who's ready to find her new home! Evergreen came to us as a stray, and we believe she was hit by a car before she arrived. Thanks to our dedicated team, she has made a wonderful recovery and is feeling much better. Evergreen loves to play with her toys and entertaining herself. This smart gal knows "sit" and "shake" and can't wait to learn more! She can be a bit shy when first meeting new people, so slow and gentle introductions are key to helping her feel at ease. Because of her shyness, Evergreen would do best in a home without the hustle and bustle of children. During her time with us, we've noticed some social behavior with other dogs so she may do well with another canine in the home! If you're looking for a cute and playful addition to your family, consider giving Evergreen the home she deserves!Shy/Fearful Dog: This pet requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Primary Color: White Secondary Color: White Weight: 57.6 Age: 4yrs 3mths 1wks

Ozzy arrived in our care alongside his companion, Luca (#887686), who he would love to go home with. In his previous home, Ozzy was potty trained, well-mannered indoors, and did well in the car. Ozzy does have hypothyroidism which will require a daily medication that our medical team can discuss with you. Now in his golden years, Ozzy dreams of finding a stable and caring household where he can continue to enjoy life to the fullest. Story
How this pet arrived: This pet was brought in by their previous owner on July 23, 2024 Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Oswald, a shy guy who needs time to adjust. He can be fearful with new people and situations, but he has made great strides in developing positive relationships with some of the staff here. His ideal family would be patient, with respectful children aged 8 and up. His new home should have an enclosed patio or backyard to contain him, as he is still learning to walk on a leash. Oswald has come a long way and still has a way to go. Are you the family that can help him? Bring a leash and collar and take Oswald home today! Primary Color: Black Weight: 38.8 Age: 2yrs 6mths 2wks

Story
How this pet arrived: Pup Pup was brought in by her previous owner on July 31, 2024. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Pup Pup, a sweet but shy dog who's still learning that the world isn't so scary. She needs a patient and understanding family to help her build confidence, especially when it comes to leash walking. An attached, fenced patio or yard will be essential for her as she continues to learn. Pup Pup may thrive in a home with a similarly sized, social dog who can show her the ropes. Because of her history of chasing cats, a feline-free home would be best. Any kids in her new home should also be over the age of 8 due to her shyness. With the right environment, Pup Pup will blossom into the loyal companion you've been looking for! Come meet Pup Pup and don't forget to bring a leash and collar!Shy/Fearful Dog: This pet requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them.
