*** THIS IS A COURTESY POST, THIS ANIMAL IS NOT AT THE SHELTER. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN MEETING THIS ANIMAL, PLEASE REACH OUT TO THE OWNER AT: amberlimonbeall@gmail.com *** Biscuit is a 4 year old intact female labrador/schnauzer mix. She is looking for a new home without children or other animals. This is what her current owner says about her: Over the past two months she has become very aggressive to our elderly dog. Has attacked her a few times. (She’s a small poodle mix) she just recently nipped at one of my kids. My child wasn’t doing anything to her but she was sitting on a blanket that he was playing on and she got upset and nipped him. Didn’t draw any blood but I have another child who is autistic and I can’t take that chance. She nipped my son. No stitches. Right after it happened she got up and went to her kennel. She didn’t growl to warn anyone either. She was being protective of a blanket on the floor(that is my kids Lego blanket so she had no claim to it) She’s really a great dog but I think she’s better for a home without kids or other animals. She’s an absolute sweetheart. We have no idea what is going on but we our special needs child we cannot take a chance. *** THIS IS A COURTESY POST, THIS ANIMAL IS NOT AT THE SHELTER. Story
Meet Delta! Delta is a friendly and energetic 6-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever looking for a new home where she can thrive. She’s been part of her current family since she was 10 weeks old and has been well-loved, but her owners feel she would do best in a home where she can get the one-on-one attention she deserves. Delta is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations, potty trained, and crate trained. She has lived as an inside dog and is used to being part of the family. While she allows people to take away toys and food, she has recently shown signs of food aggression toward the family’s elderly dog. She would do best in a home without other pets unless they are fed separately. Delta gets very excited when meeting people and may jump in her enthusiasm, so she’s often crated when small children are around to prevent accidental tumbles. She’s looking for a new family who can provide her with consistent training, patience, and lots of love. With the right attention and guidance, Delta has so much potential to be a wonderful companion. If you’re interested in meeting Delta, please contact McKenna at 916-284-9338 or email mmckennasisemore10@gmail.com. Let’s help Delta find her perfect forever home! All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. Story
Rocket is my playful, vocal goofball. He is always ready to play any chance he gets, he'll always be the first to run outside and is always ready to wrestle with his brother. He definitely does like to speak his mind, and will bark at the door to let you know he's ready to come back in, also vocal of when he wants out as well. He is very shy and does have some anxiety but he's the sweetest little guy I've known and is not aggressive to anyone or other dog. He'll usually roll over on his back and surrenders when he's met other dogs. He's great with children and will pretty much let them do anything, my niece can attest to that. He absolutely loves belly rubs, knows commands such as sit, lay down, stay (sometimes), leave it, working on drop it, still learning to bring ball back during fetch.

Story
It breaks our hearts to rehome Duke, our family dog, but we want to ensure he gets the love and care he deserves. Duke is a 5-year-old black Labrador Retriever, full of energy, and loves to play. Unfortunately, due to physical limitations (I’ve had two knee replacements), I can no longer provide him with the exercise and care he needs. He pulls on the leash and requires a strong, active owner who can give him daily walks, playtime, xxxx@xxxx.x deserves a home where he can thrive and be part of an active family. Hi I’m Zorro! I’m a 5 year old Pitbull/Lab mix. My two favorite things to do are play fetch and sunbathe. I’m also a huge fan of cuddles and belly rubs. I’m potty/house trained and know sit, stay, lay down and shake commands. I’m high energy and love to run around or go on walks. I am neutered and vaccinated.

Story
Oh, how we love Freckles! Freckles is estimated to be about 10 months old and she is the sweetest little ball of love. She is the epitome of a sweetheart and she is quick to make you fall in love with her gentle demeanor and soulful big brown eyes. She is such an affectionate girl who loves nothing more than curling up in your lap for some cuddles. Freckles currently weighs around 40lbs. We don't think she will get much bigger, but she may fill out a little. Freckles came into our care from a local shelter after she was placed on the euthanasia list due to space. She found her way into the shelter after being found as a stray after likely being hit by a car and sustaining a fractured leg. The UC Davis Fracture Program was able to get her all healed up and she has been such a fabulous girl healing in her foster home. She just got the all-clear from her surgeons and she's ready to start her new life with her fur-ever family! Freckles is the best of both worlds. She loves to play and seems like she would be a great adventure buddy, but she also is a big cuddle bug who enjoys chilling on the cough and snuggling in bed. She loves everyone she meets and her philosophy is the more the merrier when it comes to making new friends. She seems to have had some basic training but is still a puppy and would benefit from continued training to help her be the best girl she can be. She is very much food motivated which makes training easier. Due to her easygoing personality, she could be a great first dog for someone who can dedicate the time to continue her training. Freckles has done great with all the dogs she has met and seems like she would love a doggie sibling to play with. She has been respectful of smaller and older dogs and could make a wonderful little sister. She also could do well as your one and only. Freckles has done well living with dog-savvy cats, but can sometimes get excited and think they're fun to chase, so she would do best with confident cats and proper management to make sure everyone gets along. Freckles could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 7 years and older. Freckles has been doing great with her housetraining but will need time to adjust to a new routine and schedule. Her new family will need to be patient with her and expect some accidents. Freckles does well in her crate when home alone and overnight. She would benefit from continuing with her crate training as she is a puppy who will get into things when bored. She has done well being left alone for a few hours at a time. Freckles is recovering from a skin infection on her face. She doesn't require any further care and her infection is not contagious to other animals or people. Freckles is such a special girl who has gone through so much in her short life. She is oh-so-ready to meet her new family and give them so much love. If she sounds like to girl for you, submit an adoption application today!   Freckle's adoption fee is $300.   Apply to adopt here!  https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. For more general questions, please see our website at www.yolospca.org. January 11, 2025, 3:08 pm
