To apply or learn more, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2024/6/25/buster Meet Buster! Buster was rescued from Stanislaus Shelter in Modesto where he landed on the euthanasia list, simply due to time and space. Buster arrived with another male dog, and tested well with dogs while at the shelter. He went to a temp foster with 2 other dogs. Buster is currently being treated for eye conjunctivitis. He is a big boy at over 100 lbs and could stand to lose some pounds to get to a healthier weight! He is listed at 11 years old, which we know to be close to his right age as he was adopted from the shelter originally around the age of 1-2 years old (owners never reclaimed). Buster is moderate energy; housetrained, would thrive with daily walks, and is respectful of baby gates if you want to separate him in the house for any reason. We would recommend an adult only home for Buster, or older teens ok. $175 Adoption Donation includes vetting, neuter, rabies, dhpp, bordatella, microchipped and up to date on monthly preventatives Buster is currently fostered in SACRAMENTO, CA Interested in adopting? 1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application 2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call! 3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time. Follow facebook.com/heartsforpawsrescue & Instagram @heartsforpawsrescue for more! Story
Shaq is a sweet 3-year-old Brindle (Lab/mix). I have had Shaq since he was 3 months old. House-trained, crate-trained, trained to eat on command, and can walk off-leash; I taught him to use the word bathroom. He is a lovebug. He is active and loves exploring. He loves the outdoors, walking, swimming, running, hiking, and day trips. Overall, Shaq is a well-mannered dog who is well-rounded. I bought him for my daughter, who has left, and I cannot take care of them as my lifestyle does not allow the time needed for the attention he deserves. It was a hard decision to make, but I don't believe in keeping dogs that are neglected. He is a sweetheart; if you have a serious interest in taking Shaq and providing a loving, supportive home, please reach out.

Story
Bruce is a 5 year old lab/mix. I got him from the shelter when he was just 8 weeks old! I was told that since the shelter fixed him early it stunted his growth so he is only 26lbs! He knows basic commands such as sit and drop it. Stay needs some work. Super lovable and definitely wants to be a lap dog. We just purchased a new home with property and it’s not fenced in and kind of off a main road. Since he is not really good at staying within areas I am so worried that he is going to get out and get hit by a car. I would feel awful if that happened. I’d love him to go to a family. He has been around other dogs and needs time to adjust but does he is super playful.
