Story
To apply or learn more, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2024/6/25/buster Meet Buster! Buster was rescued from Stanislaus Shelter in Modesto where he landed on the euthanasia list, simply due to time and space. Buster arrived with another male dog, and tested well with dogs while at the shelter. He went to a temp foster with 2 other dogs. Buster is currently being treated for eye conjunctivitis. He is a big boy at over 100 lbs and could stand to lose some pounds to get to a healthier weight! He is listed at 11 years old, which we know to be close to his right age as he was adopted from the shelter originally around the age of 1-2 years old (owners never reclaimed). Buster is moderate energy; housetrained, would thrive with daily walks, and is respectful of baby gates if you want to separate him in the house for any reason. We would recommend an adult only home for Buster, or older teens ok. $175 Adoption Donation includes vetting, neuter, rabies, dhpp, bordatella, microchipped and up to date on monthly preventatives Buster is currently fostered in SACRAMENTO, CA Interested in adopting? 1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application 2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call! 3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time. Follow facebook.com/heartsforpawsrescue & Instagram @heartsforpawsrescue for more! NAME:Charlie GirlSTATS:Female, Lab mix, 8 months, 45 lbs.TEMPERAMENT:Friendly.Active (puppy energy).Active (may be good at agility training).SKILLSDoing great with potty training.Crate trained.Leash trained.Good with children.Good with dogs.Would make a great hiking buddy.Has not been exposed to cats.MORE ABOUT ME:Likes belly rubs.Likes walks.Likes playing with other dogs.Submissive.Suggest training (basic manners).ONE LAST THING:Charlie Girl loves to love! She loves play time with people and dogs alike and just wants someone to follow around and please. She will be an amazing dog with someone willing to be consistent with her training. I think she would LOVE to be in a home with another playful dog (her foster brother is an old grumpy man so he tolerates her, but is too grumpy to play with her). She does good with our kids (5 and 8) but her over excitement might be too much for kids younger than 5.Since she is still very much in puppy mode, she hasn't gotten the hang of keeping her playful energy in check and has been known to jump on you (out of excitement) and is mouthy during play time but never bites. She doesn't realize her size at all so she trollops and flops around a lot. She is nearly 100% potty trained but has had a couple of accidents in her kennel overnight. With consistent reinforcement and training, she will continue to blossom.August 17, 2024, 7:27 pm

Story
Courage is quite a spirited super-mut! At around 1 year old and 48 pounds, he's going to be the perfect adventure buddy. His enthusiasm for walks and play is evident, though managing his initial excitement on walks will take some patience and consistent training. It's great that he enjoys toys like the soccer ball and responds well to treats and training cues like "sit." Since he may need some guidance with dog greetings, introducing him to other dogs should be done carefully and gradually. It's good to check with the adoption coordinator for any additional insights from his interactions with other dogs like ARI and SHILOH. With structure and routine, Courage will likely thrive and become a wonderful companion for an active family!Courage's $275 adoption fee helps cover his neuter, microchip, and all shots. He really wants to find his forever family. Could he be part of yours? Primary Color: Tri Color Weight: 48.3125 Age: 1yrs 3mths 3wks
