Story
Meet Beck! LONGEST KENNEL RESIDENT! NEEDS A FOSTER DESPERATELY! Hubba hubba here he comes! Beck is a one-year-old lab/plott hound mix who's 60 pounds of pure love! Beck is hands down one of the most affectionate pups you'll ever meet. He is very timid around new people, but once you've earned his trust, he makes no secret his goal in life is to be close! He actively seeks affection and gives the best hugs in town. His new family will need to be very patient and encouraging with him. We promise you he's worth the wait. Once you're in, you're in for life! Beck had a few days away with one of our volunteers and he loved every second of it! It took him all of five minutes to find the toy bin and he helped himself to every single toy in there. Tough toys are best our playful pup and he is always up for a game of fetch! They were able to take toys/food away with no issue. He enjoys a relaxing neck rub and will roll over for some belly rubs too! Beck has done well being crated for a few hours at a time and with more repetition, we think that will continue. This lovable pup appears to be house-trained as well. Beck does well with other dogs and has a vocal playstyle. If you're looking for a pal for your family fur baby, Beck could be your boy! Excited to follow his nose and explore new surroundings, Beck does well on leash. As he is still a young man, he will benefit from continued training as he grows. His new family will need to keep him active and engaged and a yard for him to enjoy is a must for his handsome boy! Training will be an excellent way to form a lifelong bond. Though he does need some work on his manners, Beck responds very well to correction. When it comes time to eat, Beck appears to be a grazer. He takes his treats gently and Nudges are one of his favorites! He gets his evening zoomies and then is ready to relax for the night. Once settled, he sleeps quietly through the night. When it comes time to travel, Beck does well in the car and loves to take in the scenery on your trip. Based on our evaluation, we feel Beck would do well in an active home with adults or families with kids ages 16 and up. He enjoys hanging with other dogs and we feel he would be a great buddy for another pup. We are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. Don't spend another day without this lovey-dovey boy! Head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for our bubbly Beck!

Story
THRIVING IN FOSTER! GOOD WITH KIDS & DOGS! Hey everyone! Tank here from GLDR! I'm a three-year-old handsome hunk of a lab who is the missing piece you've been searching for! I'm 77 pounds of good time goofiness that will brighten anyone's day! I was struggling in the kennel so I was thrilled when an amazing foster family offered to take me home. I'm currently living it up at their place until I find my forever family. Not only do I love their kids (ages 7 & 11), I also have two fur siblings I love to hang with. I enjoy playing with them and am respectful of my fur sister when she lets me know she wants her space. If you're looking for a pal for your family fur baby, I'm your guy! I've been known to chase cats and other small animals though, so I'll need to go to a family without any small furry friends. House-trained and crate-trained, I aim to please! I enjoying nap in my crate during the day and after that, I'm ready to explore! My curious and fun-loving nature makes me the ultimate companion. I'm good on leash and will make an excellent walking/hiking buddy. Due to my adventurous nature, I'll need to go to a home with a 6 ft physical fence. I've been told I'm very capable guy. I know my basic commands and am ready to learn even more. I prefer meaty treats and always take them gently. As I'm still a young man, I'll will thrive on daily exercise and mental stimulation in my new home. Thinking about a road trip? I'll be the ultimate co-pilot and look forward to all the places we can go together! Like most labs, I love the water and am also a fan of pup cups! At the end of a fun-filled day, I always make time to snuggle with my foster family. I sleep quietly through the night, thankful for my foster family and dreaming of the day my forever family comes my way. Based on their evaluation, my GLDR friends think I would do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages 8 and up. I'd love to have another pup to play with too! I'm up for a meet and greet anytime! Remember I do need a tall physical fence to keep me safe! If I sound like your kind of pup, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application! Hope to see you soon!

Story
**Prue is in a foster home and not living at the kennel. If interested in meeting her, please submit an application at k9stray.com** Prue will have much nicer pictures coming soon to really show her off! She is estimated to be about 3 years old and weighs 47 pounds. Prue is a sweet girl who is in need of a loving home. She may be young, but she has already been through a lot, and all she wants now is a family to call her own. Prue is shy and kind of shut down right now in this kennel environment. She will need some time to warm up and feel safe in her new home. Once she does, however, she will be your loyal companion. She is opening up more at the rescue with those who are spending extra time with her. Prue will need an adopter who knows how to be a leader she can rely on. They will also need to have the time and patience to work on confidence building and positive socialization. With patience and love, Prue will flourish into the amazing dog she was always meant to be. Due to her shy nature, Prue would do best in a quiet, adult home where she can relax and feel safe. Prue does seem to perk up around other dogs, so another friendly doggy in the home may be great for building her confidence. She has a lot of love to give, and she is looking for a family that can give her the love and attention she deserves. If you think you could be that family, please consider adopting Prue. If you are interested in Prue and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch.
