After a "Meet and Greet" then a decision for both the rescue and you will determine if this is a good match. He is dog friendly, people friendly and affectionate! He is loyal, gentle and smart! While he loves companionship, he also can be independent and dignified. Holt needs an active person or people as he's quite athletic and will benefit from regular exercise, like walks, hikes or runs. He pulls a bit on a leash but is easily corrected. HI - I'M JOHNNY, a 10-year-old pit/lab mix waiting for a foster or forever home. I'm super cute with my red & white coloring and my speckled ears! My ideal adopter is a single person who wants a companion, a pal for hanging out, walks, hikes, watching TV, car rides, napping. I love to play fetch, and I listen to basic commands. I tend to bond to one person who will be my soulmate, so couples may not be the best for me because I don't want to share the person I bond with and love. I love scratches and affection! I get bored if left alone too long, so best not to leave me out in the backyard for hours. I'm still quite agile and have been known to jump over a fence in my younger days. I'm not all that trustworthy around other dogs, especially male dogs, so it's best if I'm the only dog in the home. I'm still in good health and I'm basically looking for my forever companion to go for walks or hikes or simply watch TV and snuggle. I weigh about 70 lbs. Can you foster or adopt me? I have been waiting for two years for a home and currently need a foster or forever home. I was rescued from a high-kill shelter where I had kennel mates! I'm still very active, and so would love to be with a person or people who go for walks, hikes or other outings. I love the water and car rides and am a happy girl. And I love to snuggle! I weigh about 45-50 lbs. I would love a home with someone who works from home or is retired, since I love being with my person or people. Can you open your home to me? MEET SWEET LUKE! Luke is a happy & lovable 3-1/2-year-old Pit/Boxer mix in need of a foster or forever home! He had been adopted, but his owner died, and so he went back into the rescue. He has a wonderful disposition; he gets along great with other dogs and is very loving and affectionate to his people. He also loves to fetch balls and bring them back to you. Luke also isn't a big barker, unless someone barks at him. He walks well on a leash, and is a strong boy. He doesn't shed much! Luke also loves treats and is very treat motivated. He was rescued from a California shelter originally after he became urgent for lack of space. While there, he was kenneled with another female dog and did great. He's been tested with numerous dogs and has done well with everyone. He's a loving, easygoing boy. Luke currently weighs about 60 lbs and needs a foster or forever home.
