Adoption Donation  $599      Located in RI (Transportation costs included to the Northeast) Approximately @ 5 months    Weighs 35lbs    Happy outgoing puppy. Will do well in a home with children and other animals. He is Soo well behaved. Not destructive or jumpy. He loves cuddling. He is a goofy floppy puppy who is Soo affectionate and sweet.  Chili is being fostered in a home with kids, cats and other smaller foster puppies.  He is the best little friend to everyone.    If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:    reginasfosterdogs@gmail.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt. If you feel comfortable that the animal is a good fit for your home, at this point, you would submit a sum of $200 as a partial payment of the adoption fee as we process your application. From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit. If you are not approved to adopt, any payment sent to us would be promptly returned in full. At this point, we will remove the animal from our adoption sites and hold the animal for you while we check your references. If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc. Boomer is the perfect balance of chill and playful. At just 1 year old, he’s got the energy for fun but knows how to relax like a pro. With his beautiful chocolate coat, Boomer loves to lounge in the sun, enjoying the day, and then surprise you with adorable spurts of energy. Whether it’s zoomies in the yard or a quick run by your side, Boomer knows how to have fun! He’s a social boy who gets along wonderfully with both male and female dogs. After a bit of playtime, Boomer is all about that cuddle life—he’ll come when you call and lean in for some well-deserved affection. If you're looking for a loyal companion who’s as happy to relax as he is to play, Boomer is your guy. Come meet him and see how quickly he’ll steal your heart!

Story
Trixie is a 4 year old Black Lab/Hound mix. She is the sweetest, sassiest girl that loves her independence as long as she can still be around you. Trixie loves chewing on bones, playing fetch and taking naps in the room you are in. Trixie does have allergies (both food and environment). Her current food is The Farmers Dog which she does well on. Due to Trixie’s allergies she is prone to ear infections. She currently has an ear infection that needs treatment however due to life circumstances I can no longer afford the vet visits. With more consistent care I fully believe Trixie’s ear infections can go away almost completely, she just needs the right home and attention. Trixie loves other dogs and all humans and would make a great life companion for anyone that can give her love and attention.

Story
To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application    HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see    HERE Love is available for adoption to Massachusetts residents, as well as those in the other New England states. Age: 10 months (as of 7/19/24) Weight: 33 pounds (as of 7/18/24) Location: RI    This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Love Affirmation looks to be a pint-sized lab mix puppy who is a sweetie-pie. Love is your classic introvert and is looking for an adopter who will be patient with her and not expect frequent outings outside the home.   This litter did not have many social interactions during a young age as they were battling parvo virus. They are currently working on socialization in controlled environments.  Love loves other dogs and looks to them for guidance.  She is looking for a home with another playful dog to show her the ropes.  She is happiest when with other canine friends. She loves a good wrestle or bitey face play session.  She can be nervous around new people, particularly with touch and handling so we are going slow while teaching her that pets are good!  She has made great strides while in foster care but is still looking for a patient home who does not have too many social expectations of her.   She would do best in a household that is quiet and predictable without any young children. Although we prefer to break down barriers to adoption, Love would do best in a home with a fenced yard given her fear around handling.  She has mastered the doggie door in her foster home and has done well with housetraining with frequent trips outside.  In the right home we promise you will Love this girl! We strongly recommend that all of our dogs, especially puppies, attend obedience classes because you get to learn commands together, and it can build confidence and socialization for the dog. It's also fun! It often takes a lot of time, energy, and patience to bring up a puppy--and it's absolutely worth it. Medical Note:  Love is a parvo survivor. Her last symptoms were on 12/6/2023, and we are so happy that she is okay now and ready to find her furever home! An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see      HERE      for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website:    www.sosarl.org/aa/ *  *Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor. August 18, 2024, 9:25 pm
