Story
adoption donation : $699 weight  35 lbs  Age 4 months as of 1/17        Charlotte and her siblings were dumped at a gas station in a rural part of Mississippi when they were quite young, they were starving when the Wags director  found them and took them in to the rescue. She nursed them back to health and gave them the vet care they needed and all five are now healthy and happy puppies, running and playing and snuggling together in a big puppy pile to nap.      Charlotte is so sweet! She is all tail wags and wiggles and just loves everyone she meets. She  is house trained at Wags but like any rescue may need a refresher course while she adjusts to a new home.    She is spayed, and up-to-date on his vaccines and ready for loving family of her own. We’re hoping to bring Charlotte up to the northeast next Saturday, February 8      Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs.  Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter at one of the clinics we use. Story
adoption donation : $699 weight  40 lbs  Age 8 months as of 3/6        Austin is a gorgeous pup who is part of a litter that seemed to be Irish wolfhound mixes, they were mostly scruffy face pups although Austin looks more like a black lab. Austin and his  siblings were dumped at a gas station in a rural part of Mississippi when they were quite young, they were starving when the Wags director  found them and took them in to the rescue. She nursed them back to health and gave them the vet care they needed and all five are now healthy and happy puppies, running and playing and snuggling together in a big puppy pile to nap.      Austin is a sweet boy and is definitely warming up at his foster home  in the northeast but he’s shy around people but he absolutely adores other dogs ! He is never happier than when he is running and playing with other pups. We’d really like a home for Austin with at least one other dog, he just loves every dog he meets! He is fine with cats too.    Austin is housebroken, neutered and up-to-date on his vaccines and ready for loving family of his own.      Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs.  Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Story
What a journey this girl has had! She was lucky when, at four months old, she happened to wander into the yard of a woman who was kind and even though she couldn’t take her in, she looked for a rescue to come and get her and that’s when Paradise got to have a new beginning. When she was brought into rescue (8/16) she was diagnosed with Demodex mange which resolved with treatment. Now she has a beautiful shiny black coat with a warm brown undertone that shows in the sunlight. She has just one small patch of white in the middle of her chest and her foster mom likes to think that’s where she keeps all her luck. After learning about the basics like crate training, house breaking, and the structure that comes with living with people, Paradise traveled to her foster home in New England. Her optimistic and enthusiastic personality has served her well and she is growing into her true quirky self. She integrated with her three new foster siblings wonderfully and showed a lot of maturity as she learned how to play cooperatively with dogs larger and smaller than herself and even in a group. She takes corrections well and is very food motivated. It can take her a while to learn a new command but she won’t give up trying and is very proud of herself once she learns. She likes to play tug, chase, and wrestle but would like a little alone time with a new toy because her favorite thing in the world is, in fact, a new toy! She does a happy dance and trots around holding it in her mouth like it’s truly the best thing she’s ever received. If you’re looking for a companion who won’t judge you for indulging in some retail therapy, she’s your girl so long as you get her something new too.Her other favorite thing in the world is YOU! When her foster mom returns home Paradise experiences the reunion with her joy turned up all the way and her foster mom says she continues to grow and is learning to calm down by herself although a belly rub always does the trick if she needs a little help. But who doesn’t get a little over excited when they see their very favorite person!?Name: Paradise LocalBreed: Lab/MixSex: FemaleAge: 11 months as of 3/2/25Weight: 50 lbs as of 3/2/25Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations:   Puppy vaccines will be up to date - all vaccinations required after adoption are the responsibility of the adopter.Heartworm: Tested in October NEG!!!Housetraing: YesMicrochipped: YesCats: Not TestedDogs: YesKids: Has not lived with small kids so over 7 is bestLocation of dog currently:  New England Puppy Adoption Fee:  $550.00 (includes a spay/neuter surgery rebate of up to $200.00 to be paid to the adopter when proof of spay/neuter is provided to Paws New England). We can provide adopters with a list of low-cost SN clinics when requested. The adoption fee also includes the transport fee.ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy, so if you experience behavior issues, you have a point of contact.  PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours at a time until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so important in this puppy's life. Do you have the time? Please consider purchasing this book before adopting.  Perfect Puppy in 7 Days - How to Start Your Puppy Off Right, Sophia Yin, DVM - it is an amazing book that we recommend very highly and have had amazing feedback on.https://www.amazon.com/Perfect-Puppy-Days-Start-Right/dp/0964151871IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue.
