MEET LOANIE! SEE VIDEO!!!!Loanie is one of the dogs who came to us directly from a shelter in the Bahamas. She is a shy but very sweet and playful girl who is new to life here in New England. She started her life at a shelter in the Bahamas living with a bunch of other dogs and being well cared for by the caretakers at the sanctuary. She has learned so much in just the last few weeks here including walking on leash, being comfortable indoors and interacting with many different staff. We are starting to get an idea of her likes/dislikes and have come to realize she really is still very much a puppy at heart! To set her up for success she would do best in a home with another friendly/social dog or even a multi-dog household since she finds comfort in the company of other dogs. A quiet/rural environment is best as she has no experience living in an urban environment and can be fearful of lots of noises, cars and bicycles. A fenced yard is a requirement due to her still learning to be on leash. If she has an opportunity to run, play and use the bathroom in a yard situation she can then slowly acclimate to leash walks at her own pace. Though she has her quirks, Loanie truly is a sweetheart.Due to her fear we are requiring multiple visits so she has a chance to spend time with you before the big adventure of going to her new home.Loanie is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and been seen by our vet team. For more information on Loanie or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY. However, we will be unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements. Story
MEET CALLIE!Callie is an adorable puppy who learns very quickly. She came to us on a southern transport and will need help with all the basics, potty training, crate training, and socialization. She is very curious and will inspect everything in the house within reach. She’ll keep you entertained with how playful she can be and will be a great cuddle buddy. She naps with her neck at weird angles which looks painful but she seems to enjoy them. There will never be a dull moment with her. She is a bit of a nervous gal, especially in busy places, so would do best in a home outside of the city. She gets a lot of confidence when she is with other dogs, so we are looking to send her home to a social, friendly resident dog to show her the ropes. If you do not have another dog, consider adopting her with her BFF Carlton! If you are interested in meeting Callie, stop by our Dedham shelter! Callie is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and been seen by our vet team. For more information on Cathryn or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. Story
Name: Wyatt Sex: Male Breed: Lab Mix Age: 3 yo Weight: 60lb Adoptable in MA and NH Wyatt is a social, playful three-year-old boy who comes to us originally from Tennessee! He was found in a barn with his mother, Whitney, and sister, Willow. Wyatt loves people and will be absolutely thrilled to see any of them! He loves to go to the state park for a quick jump in the pond. He is an excellent car rider and will let you fashion him to a seat belt so he can ride in style! Wyatt also loves the vet and will be a star whenever he goes due to his love for anyone he meets. He's a sweet, loving dog! Wyatt has lived with older children and done well, but may jump on the little ones and any strangers he's excited to see. While Wyatt has resided with other animals, he is looking for a pet-free home at this time, as he holds his toys, home and food near and dear to his heart! Wyatt will thrive in a high-energy home with lots of mental stimulation and things to do. He'll love any chance you give him for exercise, so he's a great running buddy! Wyatt has been crate-trained and quite enjoys spending time in his little den, and will likely benefit from being crated during times someone cannot be home, as he does tend to have wandering paws when he gets bored! He is completely housebroken. He knows his basic commands of come, sit, stay, paw, other paw, down, and up. He absolutely loves to learn, play, and just generally be a dog! If you're looking for a sweet, loving, high-energy dog, Wyatt would be a great addition to your pet-free home. If you are interested in adopting or fostering, please fill out an application at survivortails.org or email adoptions@survivortails.org with interest or questions. Thank you.

Story
Name: Leo Sex: Male Breed: Lab mix Age: 5 years Dogs/cats: Pet free see bio Adoptable in MA & NH My name is Leo. I am a 4 year old Lab mix who is extremely loyal, playful, and very smart. My favorite things to do is play fetch with the chuck it ball in the yard. I get so fixated on that ball that I could chase it all day. I love to be outside with walks or chasing the ball. I also love squeaky toys, and the lab in me loves the water. At the end of the day I will curl up at your feet, and when inside, I will follow you around the house, and watch tv with you. I do growl every once and a while when I see animals on tv but stop when I hear the command “enough”. I know some basic commands. Sit, wait, come, down, ball, enough, and go potty. The last command that I have been working on and am very good at now is “place”. When I hear that command, I go into my crate, and wait until things calm down. I am crate trained, and find that to be my safe space when things get hectic. This is where I eat my meals. I am not food aggressive. You can take my bowl away, and I will be fine. I will also let you know when I need to go outside and need to go potty. When someone I don’t know comes to the house I do bark but I am given the command place, and I go to my crate where I stay until the company is in the house and there is a more relaxed atmosphere. My previous owner had a 14 month old son, and I was very gentle with him. He would even give me his food, and I would gently take from his hand. Also, I got very close with children who I knew, and was very good with them. Once I get to know you and I feel safe, (treats help, I really love treats) I will follow you around, and am very loving. I do not do well with reactive/unstable dogs. I do not like cats. I had to leave my previous home because of this. I have been in a few dog fights. I need an owner who commit to my basic training and proper leash training so I focus on you and not be reactive to other dogs. On walks, I am told to sit, then wait as other dogs pass. I have lived with another dog before for 3 years (beagle mix), and we are fine together. But it took a few times of us being in the same area to get comfortable with each other. I need a slow, controlled introduction to other dogs. We are at this time looking for a pet free home for Leo. Leo is adoptable in NH & MA Please complete an application to foster or adopt on our website www.survivortails.org as well as email adoptions@survivortails.org with interest or questions.
