Meet Duncan, a handsome 5-year-old male Lab/Hound mix with soulful eyes and a heart full of love! Duncan is on the lookout for his forever family and promises to be a loyal and loving companion. This sweet boy currently lives with 2 adults and 2 teenagers(every other weekend for the teenagers) and provides pure joy to everyone! Younger kiddos may make him nervous so kids over 10yrs would be best. Duncan loves receiving big hugs, belly scratches and cuddling on a couch with his loved ones. He’d do amazing in a peaceful home and would make an excellent walking partner. Duncan is best suited in a home with a fenced backyard to play and with a family who can appreciate his gentle and loving nature. Duncan is so friendly but gets anxious meeting new dogs. Slow and thoughtful introductions would be the best for him to warm up to other pups. He is treat motivated and easy to train!

Meet Derek! - I am in a foster home, please contact the shelter to learn more!Derek and his brother Scotty were found roaming outside with their mom in Mississippi. These brothers likely had very little interaction with people before being brought to the shelter. Because of this they are very shy but are learning to trust humans. Collars, leashes, and living indoors are all new to them. They are each looking for a home with a patient owner and friendly resident dog.They both LOVE dogs! In their new home they will look to the resident dog to teach them how to be social and live indoors. An ideal home for Derek or Scotty would have a social dog to help them come out of their shell. Derek is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been neutered, microchipped and seen by our vet team.For more information on Scotty or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY. However, we will be unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements. MEET HUNTER!According to his former fosters, Hunter is an amazing young puppy! He’s bright, curious, and extremely friendly. He does not shy away from new interactions or stimuli, and is always interested in exploring new areas. He even met a cat in his foster home and wanted to play. Also making Hunter a great puppy is the fact that he is EXTREMELY food motivated. Even just using his kibble as treats, it was easy to refocus his attention at any time and reward positive behavior. We even got him to learn sit on the first day and he’s working on fetch and come. This guy would benefit highly from a positive reinforcement training class so he can continue to learn how to adjust and socialize. Hunter is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and seen by our vet team.For more information on Hunter or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. Ace is already house-trained and is currently working on crate training - he's a total champ at overnight crating and is actively making progress with daytime crating.A perfect day for Ace starts with a nice walk (where he loves to say hello to new people with a friendly howl!) and then he spends the rest of the day chilling on the couch with his chew toys and his family. He's highly motivated by food and will do just about anything for a tasty treat, so further training should be a piece of cake. He also thrives on routine, so having a schedule will help him settle into his new environment.Ace is the ultimate companion animal - he feels much more confident and comfortable when he's around his humans so he has some separation anxiety, which is slowly improving in his foster home! Because of this, he would do best with a family that is home more often than not. Additionally, he tends to be vocal when anxious (and even when he's happy and excited - this chatty boy loves to say hello!). Ace is best suited for a single-family home.Ace is a fantastic dog who is eagerly waiting to meet his forever family!Please Note: All dogs are posted until they are officially adopted.
