We got Custard out in Nacogdoches as a little puppy. He's now mid-way into his third year. We're looking for anyone with enough love and support to keep him happy, free, and above all else, safe! He is extremely loving, gentle, and plays well with our toddlers, but we've learned that he's quite clever, and after many, many attempts to keep him and his partner-in-crime safe in our yard, we're conceding, hoping to give them better lives with more capable owners. He's a fantastic learner, young, energetic, highly motivated by toys, pets, treats... this boy is very pleasant to work with and should give you little trouble adapting to your needs. I know beggars can't be choosers, but Pumpkin, who also has a profile on this site- another pleasant, mischievous lab- has been side-by-side with Custard for over 2 years. We would be thrilled to see them rehomed together!

We rescued Pumpkin at our local Humane Society and were surprised 3 weeks later with a litter of 12 puppies! She's strong and healthy, for sure! We got her spayed after she recovered from giving birth and thankfully found homes for all of her puppies. We don't know how old she is exactly, probably around 3 or 4 years old. We're looking for anyone with enough love and support to keep her happy, free, and above all else, safe! She's a sweet dog and plays well with our toddlers, but she's incredibly acrobatic, and after many, many attempts to keep her and her partner-in-crime safe in our yard, we're conceding, hoping to give them better lives with more capable owners. Wish Bone was at the Smith County Animal Shelter too long, so we tagged him. He is a very happy dog, loves people, good on a leash, house training is unknown, cats is unknown, and good with other dogs. He is estimated to have been born in December 2022, weighing 43 pounds as of 8/4/23, and was neutered on 8/24/23. $25 adoption fee, since donations have been made for his veterinarian care.November 6, 2024, 12:13 am

Amris and her family of 3 other dogs were first spotted on our trail camera in June 2023 starving and looking for food. Amris was the second to get trapped in our live trap. I had to carry her from the live trap all the way to a kennel for the rest of the night, but now she walks good on a leash. She does have a hunting instinct to go after night time wildlife, and has wanted to go after a feral cat we have. She did climb over our 4 foot fence about 3 times, but is now staying inside the fence. She's not very active now, lays around a lot, and rolls over frequently to receive belly rubs as I walk by. We don't know if she is house trained, but she is crate trained. She does not have a micro-chip, and no owner was found. She was heartworm positive, is on prevention, and had heartworm treatment on 10/26/23 and 10/27/23. She was estimated to be 6 years old on 8/8/23 weighing 63.6 pounds, and she was spayed on 9/24/23 weighing 68 pounds. On 11/15/23, she had an x-ray done that shows her back left leg has an ACL tear. She was given Carprofen for several days. The ACL surgery would cost around $6,000, so the veterinarian said she could have Rimadyl when needed, and try not to be too active, which she is not. She loves to be pet, and would make a great companion for someone who is not too active. $70 adoption fee.November 6, 2024, 12:13 am
