Story
Lily is a 4 year old purebred American Labrador. (She comes with papers) she is breed to be a shed hunting dog. She has been trained and loves to be in the woods. Unfortunately the time I have these days is very limited and I am unable to get her out like she needs. She deserves so much more then I can do for here now. So It has been a few years now since she has been out in the woods doing what she is so good at and love to do. She is a really good house trained dog. She’s so loving and affectionate, very smart and well mannered.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Tiger came to us as a local surrender. Tiger has been raised on a farm with plenty of family and children. When Tiger was a puppy he was hit by a drunk driver which resulted in a costly surgery on his hind end. Tiger has been very resilent and he has no idea that he walks a bit differently than other dogs, there is nothing that this boy can't do! He is completley healed but it is the vet's recommendation is to keep his weight on the slight side. Tiger is a social, friendly, playful, active dog who deserves a fabulous active home and plenty of love.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 18, 2024, 12:07 pm

Great news! My adoption fee has been paid by someone who loves me and wants me to find a great home. Here's what you need to know about me:I'd like a relaxed home. I wouldn't say I'm "old"... I've just been around for a while. And that's made me appreciate the finer things in life like naps in the sun, looking out windows, and the special joy when you're able to scratch juuuuust the right spot. I like to take it easy at home - I'm not up for lots of activity. It's recommended I meet any dogs or kids living in my new home before I'm adopted. I just want to make sure we all get along.I'm available for Trial Adoption! If you're interested in taking me home for 2 weeks before making a final decision, please email adoptions@southwesthumane.org. Primary Color: Brown Weight: 64.8 Age: 12yrs 1mths 3wks

What my friends at OHS say about me:I'm in a foster home right now, but I'm still available for adoption! Come into the shelter to learn more about me and schedule a meet and greet appointment!Things I love: carrots, stuffed animals, cuddles, walks and being around people I trust!Things I don't like: garage doors, big staircases, loud noises and super busy environments.I'd make a great buddy for curling up on the couch for movie night!I may be shy at first, but once we get to know each other I will shower you with love and show you what a sweet, goofy guy I am!I can be picky about my canine companions. Slow introductions and having my own space will be important for me to adjust to a home with resident dogs.I came from the southern United States, where dogs are at a higher risk for heartworm. I did test negative when I arrived at OHS but its good for my future family to be aware of.Shy and Nervous: I can be worried about new people, new surroundings and touch. I prefer to take things at my own pace and will need to live in a calm environment.I will need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted.Resource Guarding: I have a history of guarding my people, food, toys and/or bedding from other animals or people. The type of home I'm looking for:My history is a mystery! My friends here at OHS don't know if I've ever lived with other animals or children. It could be with you! What my friends at OHS say about me:Hi! I'm Commander Salamander, a spunky, food-loving, treat ball enthusiast with a personality as big as my name. I'm in a foster home right now, but I'm still available for adoption! Click the Meet Me button and complete the questionnaire to schedule a meet and greet appointment.I really love people especially those familiar with canine body language! I'm a social boy who loves hanging out with my people. If you've got a good understanding of dog behavior, I think we'll hit it off even more. I can pull while I'm out on walks because, well, I've got places to go!I'm one talkative guy. Whether I'm asking for belly rubs, treats or just giving you my signature head tilt, you'll always know what I'm thinking! I'm a smarty-pants, and I'm food-motivated, so training should be a fun adventure for us!Escape Artist: I have a history of trying to escape doors, fences, and leashes. I will need supervision when outdoors.Shy and Nervous: New people, surroundings and touch can make me a little nervous. I like to take things slow, so I'd do best in a calm, quiet environment where I can adjust to my new life at my own pace.High Energy: I've got loads of energy and will need an active home that can keep up with me. Long walks, playtime, and some mental stimulation will be a must!.I will need to meet any canine companions prior to getting adopted.I have been diagnosed with dental disease which means I may need dental cleanings or extractions in the future. The type of home I'm looking for:I lived with toddlers and babies in my last home.It could be with you!
