Story
Meet Maximus, a five year old Lab mix weighing around 60 pounds.Maximus` story is quite sad. Animal control was called to pick him up after his owners moved and the landlord called them. He was left tied up next to the house with no shelter and hardly any room to move The area around him was covered in feces and urine and so was he, we can`t imagine why someone would do that to him. When he came to us we immediately gave him a bath and noticed some sores, probably due to the filth he was forced to sit in. Maximus is a friendly goober with a good amount of energy. He likes treats but seems like no one really worked with him so he is still learning his mannered but responds well to correction. He deserves only the best home after what he has been through. This pet is available for adoption on 12/20/2024 at 4:59 PM at the Yakima Humane Society adoption center. If you recognize this animal please contact the adoption center at 509-457-6854.Did you know YHS lets local community members FOSTER TO ADOPT?? That`s where you and the pet make sure you`re a good fit for one another by having a fun sleepover prior to finalizing your adoption. It`s a win-win for everyone! Just ask our front desk staff about how it works.Interested in adopting this or another YHS pet? Please complete our adoption questionnaire found at: https://yakimahumane.org/adopt/apply/Our adoption fee includes a lovable companion, spay/neuter, vaccinations and intestinal worming, flea/tick treatment, rabies vaccine (for pets over 3-4 months of age) and a microchip with nationwide registration. Your adoption fee helps support YHS and our spay/neuter efforts in the community to end overpopulation of cats and dogs.If you have any questions, please e-mail us at adoption@yakimahumane.org.

Story
Meet Lucy, a 10-month-old yellow Lab/Siberian Husky mix who is as sweet as they come! ?? Lucy is a bit shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, her loving and gentle nature really shines. She tends to feel more at ease around women, but with patience and care, she’s sure to warm up to everyone.Lucy is an intelligent girl who would thrive with proper training and structure. She has so much potential to become an amazing companion, and with the right guidance, she’ll be the loyal, loving dog you`ve been looking for.If you`re willing to give Lucy the time and care she needs to build confidence, you’ll have a sweet and devoted best friend for life!Come meet Lucy today, she is currently available for adoption at the Ellensburg Animal Shelter. If you are interested in adopting this pet, please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org and a staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been received.A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal`s picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is lifesaving. Adopt Don`t Shop.

Story
Little Bucket here (80lbs) is a black lab mixed with who knows what! Once he warms up to you, he loves you so much! He is currently almost 10 months old, but he picks up training pretty well! This guy loves having a task to do, so rest assured, he will come with all his favorite toys! About bucket -he loves ice cubes -crate trained -seperation anxiety Bucket's backstory: He was taken in by my roommate, we assume Bucket was 8 weeks. (Yes I have baby pictures) 3 months later, he moves out and leaves the dog. Me and 2 other roommates helped step up and care for the boy, but he has a lot more energy than any of us can keep up with. Because of his physical needs not being met, he has been acting out frequently. If his needs are met properly, he is a wonderful dog, super receptive to training. We love him so much, but our house is not the right fit. Bucket needs more space and someone with energy for him!

Story
Born February 2020, Eclipse is a male Lab mix who was born blind with a purely cosmetic cleft palate. He has no issues eating, drinking or getting around. Eclipse is going to make some family a great companion - he loves people and especially kids. Eclipse's favorite things are snuggling up right beside his person and accepting some much wanted belly rubs! He's currently 45 lbs. and is still growing. He does best with dogs at least his size and kids over the age of 8. Cats are unknown. Eclipse is fully vaccinated, neutered and micro chipped. We know that very special person or family is out there for Eclipse because he has a whole lotta life to live! He may be special needs (trust us, he doesn't know it!), however like any other puppy he just wants to have fun and show unconditional love and devotion to his family. A securely fenced yard is a must. All dogs in adopters homes must be up to date on vaccinations and altered. Homes must have a 6ft secure fence and no children under 5. Like all Mikey's Chance dogs, this dog will come to you from a foster home that has provided loving one-on-one attention, socialization and some basic training, as well as quality food and exercise. Applications can found at our website mikeyschance.com. Please note that adopters are not chosen on a first come, first served basis, but full consideration is given to the best fit for the dog AND the adopter. Applications can 2-4 weeks to process, application submission does not guarantee approval for adoption.

Story
Please allow me to introduce myself, my name is Kalea. I am a lab/Pitbull mix born in October of 2020. I love walks, car rides and ice cream cones. I have a bit of a Princess attitude and would like to avoid drama sharing a home with another female. Male dogs are great if they can keep up with my powerful play 😊 I am very affectionate and do a soft silly side. I do like to keep “what’s mine, mine” I am working on sharing nicely 😬 I am crate trained and housebroken and would love to be your forever friend. A secure 6 foot fence with adults or adults and kids over ref5 is preferred . If you are interested in fostering me, please send an email to mikeyschance@gmail.com with my name in the subject line: Kalea. I'm also available for ADOPTION and applications can be found at www.mikeyschance.com.
