Story
Meet Mazzy! Hey everybody, my name is Mazzy, and I'm the most special gal! I'm a young adult now, and I've found myself looking for my forever home. You might notice that I have a lot of extra skin, and that makes me extra beautiful! It also might add a pound or two to my 47-pound frame because pictures make me look a little lighter than I actually am. Let me tell you, that extra skin can tear a little bit easier than a normal dog's skin because I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, but it doesn't affect my joints one bit, so I don’t have to take any meds for it. I just need to make sure I don't play too rough with my fur friends, that's all! I get along well with other dogs of all sizes, but the calmer, the better, so they don't jump on me or scratch me. I do really well with all the humans I've met, but men are more scary to me, so they just need to be patient with me and show me they're safe. I do fabulously with children of all ages, and really enjoy being around them! I'm a bit timid, but I will also alert you to any strange noises I hear or of new people coming into the home, so I might not do super great with living in an apartment building where there might be a lot of extra noise. I go potty outside, and I really enjoy going on walks, and I do quite well, though why do some of those trucks need to be so big and loud? I'm not sure how well I would do with kitties since I think it's fun to chase squirrels and bunnies in the yard! Foster mom says I would really benefit from some training as I'm still a young lady, and I'm so, so smart! I've never really been taught some of the basic things in life, so having someone to take the time to show me how to be a proper lady would be so great for me! I'm really good at taking a toy and keeping myself occupied! I promise to make you laugh with my silly antics and zoomies I get. Now I'm ready for my ride or die bestie to go hiking by day and snuggling by night with! I sure how you see how perfect I am! *Mazzy is being fostered in Edgerton, WI. Interested in adoption? The first step is an application at paddyspaws.blogspot.com. Please do not apply if pets in the home are not up to date per our website requirements or are not altered. Our rescue adopts to Wisconsin and Illinois. Our requirements for Illinois applications are: excellent vet history, no children under 7 in the home, and an owned home. Wisconsin does not have these requirements, though we will not consider applications where pets are missing core veterinary care. Meet Jack, a dog taken in by a veterinarian Purchased from a breed who was not reputable or operating with care, this sweet boy needed more. He is just over a year old. He is a neutered male, current on vaccinations, HWT and HW and F/T prevention. He weighs 40#. It is very important that his new home have another dog. One that is confident and well-trained, active and a bit assertive would be perfect. It is important for the new owners to know that Jack comes with some emotional baggage and will need time and patience, and he may never be a socially "normal" dog. He can be very reserved around new (and sometimes old) people. He truly has made amazing strides since we've fostered him, and I think in the right hands, he will continue to become more confident and will thrive in the right home. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once approved a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $250. Ross is part of one of the litter of puppies that were being given away in a store parking lot in Janesville. Ross joined our rescued after her was found to be parvo positive and needed to receive emergency vet care. He has since been released to a foster home where he is being kept separate from other animals as he recovers. While we do not have records or paperwork, the person giving away the puppies said that Ross was a lab. As he is a young puppy, he will need someone to keep him socialized and provide regular potty breaks. He is very sweet and affectionate! Ross will also need his adopters to take him to a positive based puppy class and have him neutered by six months of age. 2.5 years old Spayed female Sweet, loving, and playful Has done well with other dogs No known experience with cats or children Housetrained I'm all about love, cuddles, and having fun. I didn’t get much attention in my previous home, so now I cherish every moment I get to spend with my favorite people. I’m super affectionate, gentle, and loyal—just the perfect cuddle buddy! I adore playing with tennis balls, squeaky toys, and splashing in the pool. I’ve got some great manners too! I walk wonderfully on a leash, I’m potty trained, and I already know “sit” and “paw.” Plus, I’m a quick learner because I’m all about those treats! I also get along well with other dogs here at the shelter. I can’t wait to find a family to shower with love! Thanks to a generous sponsor my adoption fee is just $100.00! The online adoption listing websites require that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.August 19, 2024, 7:37 pm
