Story
Rubix is a sweet, expressive pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He absolutely adores being held and talked to—he'll wrap his little paws around you and listen intently as if he's hanging on your every word. A total cuddle bug, Rubix loves sleeping in bed with his foster and the rest of the dog crew, making bedtime a full and cozy experience. Rubix does well with his foster’s dogs, including two females and a mellow male, but wasn’t too thrilled about a visiting intact male chihuahua (though that was before Rubix's own neuter). He hasn't had exposure to children, so we’re not sure how he’d respond, and he does seem to be more cautious around men. True to his opinionated nature, Rubix will definitely let you know if something is out of place—he's a vocal guy, especially when it comes to enemies like the vacuum or the hair dryer! He’s also a collector of soft treasures and has a fondness for stuffies, socks, slippers, and just about anything he can carry in his mouth (thankfully, he doesn’t chew them up!). Rubix is still working on potty training. He’s hasn’t quite figured out the bell method, but he refuses to go to the bathroom if he’s up on the bed—so that’s progress! His ideal home would be one that’s patient with training, willing to work with his quirks, and happy to receive all the cuddles this little guy has to offer. ----- Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.

Story
We have adopted Jackson when he was around 1 year old from a local pet adoption drive and took care of him ever since. He is very well behaved amd potty trained pet, we recently have a baby and he is not going well with this change. We tried our best to introduce him to the baby but he is not friendly towards the baby and is ahowing signs of aggression. Hence, we have no choice left but to rehome him where there are no kids. He is currently around 8 years of age and otherwise very well behaved dog. I am going to miss him but it’s needed for the best care of him and my baby.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Look at this happy boy. Banjo is a character. He is very friendly, likes being out in the play yard, and loves getting attention from our volunteers. It appears Banjo has not had access to food all the time.  He can be food aggressive with other dogs.  He has not shown any aggression to humans.  He is good with small dogs, but can be pushy with large dogs.   This is Banjo's second time with us.  The first time we fully vetted him after he was found on the streets.  We attempted to find his owners for almost two months.  When we put him up for adoption, they came forward.  We released him only to get a call from ACS a year later indicating he was on the streets again.  They held him until his hold time was up and we were given ownership.   We did talk to the previous owners.  They were homeless and had been jailed for trespassing.  They still did not have a stable home and we would not release the dog again.  It was not a safe life for Banjo.    Banjo was born around 08/23/2022 and weighs 21.6 pounds.  His adoption fee is $400 , If you are interested in him, please go to our website www.adoggie4you.org and complete an application.  This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $225. We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations.
