Sam is a gorgeous, long-haired Siamese mix, about 3 years old. He is a playful, mellow and affectionate housecat. His buddy, Nikolas, is a handsome Maine Coon mix with dark gray tabby markings, about 2 years old. He, too, can be playful and affectionate, but also enjoys lounging or napping on a good windowsill. The ideal situation would be to adopt together since this is the life they know. I'd love to tell you about Archie, my beautiful MaineCoon Siberian mix. I adopted him from Cat Town Oakland in 2022 when he was 2, and now at 4 years old, he's grown into such a special companion. Unfortunately, I'm moving in with my partner who has severe cat allergies, and we're starting a family, so I need to find Archie a loving new home. Archie is truly a good boy with the sweetest soul. Though slightly shy at first, he warms up quickly to show his loving, mischievous personality. He's a big sweetheart who loves giving and receiving affection. From experience, I know Archie would be happiest as the only pet in the household - he prefers not to share space with other cats or dogs. He thrives with lots of attention and would do best in a home where he can enjoy both indoor and outdoor time. He has so much love to give to the right family!

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA:  Chinchilla (Chin Chin) and Shadow are a sweet bonded pair of lovely kitties that were rescued together from a large cat colony. They appear to be Maine Coon-mix cats.  Shadow is probably Chin Chin's mother.  They both have amazingly loud purrs!   Chin Chin and Shadow’s rescuer, Sara, provided us with this description of the girls: “Chin Chin is gray and white and was born in approximately May 2016.  She's a bit flighty and will run away at first, even from me, but comes back as soon as I start petting or brushing another cat.  She returns even faster when I'm dispensing treats.  She is very playful and chases balls and other toys around the room.  She even has a regular morning romp with another cat from the colony. Shadow was born in approximately May 2014.  She's very small for a Maine Coon mix (about 6 pounds) and has gorgeous all-black fur.  She loves to be brushed and petted and often meows loudly.  Her fur is curly, so regular brushing is needed to keep mats from forming.  She's even gotten used to stand-up brushing of her belly and will jump onto the cat condo so I can reach her more easily.  Once there, we sometimes touch noses.  She's the sweetest girl.  She's very docile and calm once she gets familiar with you and the household.  She doesn't even run when I vacuum.  She's also very good about eating oral flea medication with tuna or sardines. Both girls are going to be shy at first with new people but with patience and gentle talking, treats and eventually brushing, they'll come around. Both of them have purrs that practically shake the house.  I can hear Chin Chin purring from another room, and she'll start even before I touch her.  Shadow starts drooling when she's purring.  It's so cute! There's no way of knowing for sure, but I believe they are mother and daughter.  They are definitely a bonded pair.   Both are in good health.  I give Shadow daily hairball gel and Chin Chin a powdered probiotic in her food.  They are good about using the litter box and grooming themselves.  Chin Chin and Shadow have both been spayed and will be up to date on vaccinations prior to adoption.  They are good with other cats.  They might be okay with older, respectful children, or with a very calm and cat-friendly dog." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is a Courtesy Post, and Chin Chin & Shadow are living in a private foster home with their rescuer Sara in Hercules, California. Mulder is an extremely social cat. He loves people and he loves being the center of attention in group settings. He always enjoys cuddling and would be a full time lap-cat if given the chance. He enjoys cat-nip treats, playing fetch with his toys, laying on blankets, and getting as many pets as possible. He has lived with a 70 lbs lab mix for most of his life, but their connection has been one built on tolerance more than affection. He also does not do very well with other cats, acting with some territorial aggression when given the chance. We think he would thrive best in a single cat household. Mulder has been in my life for 7 years, and has been a great cat to me. Unfortunately, I have moved in with my partner and both cats are incapable of getting along. Due to our inability to give both cats enough attention, and because Mulder is sociable, and does well in new situations, we think he would do better being re-homed. Adoption fee will be donated and there to ensure a good home.
