Maine Coon kittens & cats in Falls Church, Virginia

My name is Lola and I am from Houston--Houston, Texas.I came here with my brother Boba. We are two Maine Coon kitties--but enough about us let me tell you about me. I love to explore and climb to new heights. I like to be petted, but I am not too sure about being picked up. I am still undecided about being brushed. I like conversation. I love playing with toys. Speaking of playing, I am pretty much unfased by other cats and the sound of dogs. Welp, I am also spayed, neutered, and microchipped. Boba is too.

Meowdy! My name is Boba and I am from the great state of Texas. I might look very serious while sitting in my cage, but truth be told, I am a huge cuddle bug! I’m low energy and just want to be near my human(s); I prefer snuggles over playtime. I will even stand on my hind legs and beg to be picked up! My favorite activity besides snuggling is watching the birds outside the window. If you’re looking for a sweet, chill cat, I’m the one! Although I came here with my sister, Lola, I would like to strike out on my own and be a solo kitty. I’m not too sure about other pets-they might take your attention away from me! Boba has been neutered, is current on vaccines, tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV, and has been microchipped. His estimated birthdate is August 2021.

This is the most heartbreaking thing my family has gone through. We have raised the boys since they were very little and they are truly bonded for life. I recently found out I was expecting twins and I'm high risk. I have been getting upper respiratory infections for a few months with no real explanation. Fast forward to Dec 23 when by random chance my new obgyn decided to test me for allergies and sure enough I am severely allergic to the boys. I have only recently suffered any symptoms of allergic reactions and would never in a million years have thought it was because of my fur babies. We are moving to a new home where we have spent a lot of time and money to professionally disinfect and sterilize our new home as I will be in bed rest till July. I would have to keep them locked away from us to attempt to keep me from breathing in the same air as them and that is not the quality of life these beautiful boys deserve. I want them to stay together if at all possible.

Dessa is a sweet, sleepy (14 yr) girl who purrs like a deisel engine the moment you start to give her scritches. She spends 90% of her time asleep on the back of our couch or in her tree (or in the sock drawer if left open), and the other 10% chasing a laser light or walking patrol of the house. We've had her since she was about a year old, and she has only gotten sweeter and more relaxed as she has matured. She overlapped with a german shepherd for about two years when we first got her and they got along well (mostly keeping out of each others way), and she is great with being picked up and handled (although she prefers to be pet on her own terms, like any cat). Dessa has lived with our other cat, Lilu for the last decade and would likely do best being kept together with her. I am rehoming Dessa and Lilu on behalf of my mother, who is moving into hospice care. I love both cats dearly but I have a high prey-drive dog at home, so I just want to find them a loving home.

Hi! My name is Lous, I am a huge love bug with an adorable little chirp! I enjoy the company of people and other animals. I love to be petted, brushed, and play with string, wand, and catnip toys. I am a great companion, if you are retired or work from home, I will be there to keep your lap warm all day. If you have a busy schedule, I am perfectly content to sit in a sunny window and watch the world go by and nap while waiting for you to come home and tell me about your day. Navarre (from the movie Lady Hawk) and his sister Oona are the sweetest pair. Navarre is a snuggle buddy. He very much wants lots of love and attention and is happy to get it from kids as well as adults, and would love to play other cats. He's like a rag doll. He will cuddle up and give biscuits on the inside of your arm. He will even roll over and let you rub his tummy and do air biscuits. The only thing he doesn't like is butt pats. He'll run away if you do. He gets a little squirmy when doing his nails but he lets you do them. He doesn't scratch furniture but loves scratching on the cardboard scratchers. No litter box issues. Oona gets bored of playing a little faster than Navarre which why Navarre would love an additional friend to play with. At the adoption center, he would walk around stretching up to look into the other cages and make friendly chirps at everyone. He would probably enjoy playing and cuddling with dogs; he's definitely interested in making friends with his foster's Corgi.  This bonded pair of Maine Coon mixes live up to the name of gentle giants.  Sweet and friendly, they enjoy playing with people or just chilling.  Their fur is luxuriously soft and has a silky texture that makes them much lower maintenance for grooming than most long haired cats, i.e. brushing is a fun bonding activity vs. a mandatory daily chore. Oona and Navarre are very calm: friendly towards other cats, good with children, and would likely do well with well-behaved dogs. Navarre does not have a dominant personality and would be fine joining a house with an established male cat.  Oona's presence would also help with integration.     If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application and a representative will get back to you shortly to answer any questions you may have.
