Story
Hi! My name is Lous, I am a huge love bug with an adorable little chirp! I enjoy the company of people and other animals. I love to be petted, brushed, and play with string, wand, and catnip toys. I am a great companion, if you are retired or work from home, I will be there to keep your lap warm all day. If you have a busy schedule, I am perfectly content to sit in a sunny window and watch the world go by and nap while waiting for you to come home and tell me about your day. I will keep you company following you around and sit beside you when it's time to rest. Check out this video for how cute it is! (copy-paste this link into a new window) - Lous is so cute!. The Fancy Cats people say my belly is a bit too round and I sort of waddle when I walk, which makes me even more endearing. If you are looking for an affectionate bestie, I'm your guy!  If you would like to see more videos of me and some of my friends (some have been adopted), check out my mom's foster page https://www.instagram.com/shannysfosters/   If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application and a representative will get back to you shortly to answer any questions you may have. Story
Hi! My name is Calypso and I am waiting for my “forever” home. My owners had to surrender me because they were moving and couldn’t take me with them. I had lived with them since I was just a kitten, so don’t understand why they left me behind, from the only home I had ever known. I am very afraid of new things/places/people, so may growl, hiss and scratch until I get to know and trust you. My foster mom tried very hard to get to know me for almost a month before I finally trusted her enough to come out from my covered bed (my “safe space”) and let her pet me and love me. Multiple times throughout the day, she sat with me and patiently talked to me while I either ignored her or growled and hissed at her from inside the covered bed and scratched her hand when she tried to pet me anyway, but she persisted, and it paid off. Now, I love to come out and be petted/rubbed! She tells me how much she loves me and I purr my love back. When I have had enough, I head back inside my bed for some “me time.” You “cat-savvy” people know what I mean! So far, I haven’t let my foster mom pick me up and I haven’t climbed up in her lap, but I like to lay next to her to be petted. I don’t think I’m actually shy, but I am reserved, and take time to warm up to new situations. When she needs to move me so she can clean my room, she carries me to the other room in the covered bed and I am fine with that – I don’t even try to jump out. I have a Comfort Zone diffuser where I hang out and “stress and anxiety” drops in my water since I have had a tough time adjusting to this new life, but I hope I won’t need it once I am settled in my “forever” home. I’m a big girl, and to be perfectly honest, I admit I am a bit on the chunky side, even though I don’t think I eat too much. I only like dry food served in a shallow bowl or on a plate – I’ve been eating Purina One Tender Selects Blend (Salmon) since coming to Fancy Cats and Dogs Rescue and I like that because it has real salmon! My foster mom has tried several kinds of canned food to see if I would eat it, but I am not at all interested. I don’t even like Temptations treats much, but do enjoy catnip! I drink my water well and use the litter box like a good girl. I also like to use my scratching post, but I don’t play with toys, but maybe I just need more time. My foster mom has 3 young cats and, while they are very interested in getting to know me, I am not too interested in getting to know them, so growl at them to keep them from getting too close to me, which they respect. I have always been the only cat and prefer to keep it that way. Although I still spend a lot of time snoozing in my covered bed (which I love because it makes me feel safe), I come out when my foster mom calls my name - I wiggle out of the bed and come over for pets. Now that I trust her, I especially love to have my head and chin petted/scratched, purring all the while, and getting whole body rub-downs, except don’t much like having my feet touched. Maybe not immediately, but once I get to know you, you can even rub my belly! Because of the other cats at my foster house, I choose to stay in the bathroom instead of exploring the rest of the house. However, once I get settled into my new home - where I am the queen of my domain - I know that I will enjoy exploring, but please be patient with me. It has been a tough few months for me and it will likely take a bit of time for me to come around, but it will be worth it because I have lots of love to give and will be a perfect addition to your family. Adoption fee: $100, includes all shots, sterilized, dewormed, deflea, microchip   If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application and a representative will get back to you shortly to answer any questions you may have. Not good with cats, Needs special attention, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Bodie needs special care and good carpeted footing as he is FIV positive and has difficulty with mobility, living a healthy life semi-paralyzed with a spinocranial injury. He is a healthy cat otherwise and does not need medication. He is up to date on all vaccinations, microchipped, and super friendly. He loves being groomed and enjoys human attention and affection. He is a communicator, but his meow is very soft and quiet. He will be best in a home with no other cats.

Story
Tales is a sweet, young Maine Coon who loves to be groomed and pampered. He is likely to be by your side as often as possible, very much appreciating your affection and attention. Even though he is FIV+, he is healthy and does not require any special needs. Tales is an ideal candidate as an 'only child' cat so as to not pass the disease to another cat, and he is jealous for your attention. Come visit him today to see if he truly is your guy! We think you will fall in love!

Story
Jelly Bean and Pinto Bean are the dynamic duo of adorable, talkative, and playful brown tabby brothers! These two handsome guys are a bonded pair, and though they might be unsure of new situations, they warm up quickly and become the friendliest, most loving companions once they get to know you. Pinto Bean, the alpha of the two, has a playful, curious nature and is always the first to approach new people. He’s a little character with a big personality, and he’s not shy about showing off his intelligence and charm. Pinto’s quirks include a love for drinking water straight from the tap, rather than a bowl – he knows what he likes! Jelly Bean, on the other hand, is a bit more reserved at first but just as sweet once he feels comfortable. He enjoys being around Pinto and follows his lead, often joining in on their playful antics. Despite his more laid-back nature, Jelly is just as smart and chatty as his brother. Both boys are incredibly well-trained and love to have their wet food served with extra gravy. They adore each other and will happily entertain you with their adorable cat-tastic antics, so having them together means twice the fun! They are sure to bring warmth and joy to any home, especially to a family that can provide them with a little patience and a lot of love. The Bean Brothers were born in 2021 so they are adult boys about 4 years old. Pinto and Jelly are looking for a forever home where they can continue to be the sweet, playful, and talkative companions they’ve always been. Could that be with you? All of our cats are in foster homes. To meet this duo, please submit an application today. https://humaneloudoun.org/adopt/adoption-application/

Story
Jacob McCandless wants to be your new Best Friend! Howdy partner! My name’s Jacob McCandless, but you can call me “Big Jake.” I’ve been around for a while—living behind some houses with my fellow feline friends. People in the neighborhood think I am around 5 years old. A kind lady has been feeding me, and I recently discovered that if I hop in her car, she’ll take me to her house! And let me tell you, it’s warm in there… plus, there are beds, toys, and all kinds of comfy spots to nap. Life has been pretty good, but what I’m really looking for now is a family of my own. I’m super easygoing and love other cats, and I’m great with kids too! Seriously, I’ve never met a person I didn’t like, and the vet? No problem—I'm a trooper when it comes to checkups. I’ve had all my vet work done, so I’m all set and ready to go. Jacob has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. If you're looking for a loyal, friendly, and affectionate companion, look no further! I promise I’ll be the best furry friend you could ask for. Please apply today, and let’s make some memories together. I can't wait to be part of your family! P.S. – I’m always up for a good snuggle and a scratch behind the ears! Apply today. All of our cats are in foster homes. https://humaneloudoun.org/adopt/adoption-application/
