Story
Please contact Darlene at 302-312-5129 (fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.  This dog is located in Newark, DE. Visit us on the web at https://fur-everpaws.com/fur-ever-paws-adoption-application/ to submit an application. Please contact the foster directly at 302-312-5129 (text or call) or via email at fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com Fur Ever Paws Dog Rescue is a small no kill rescue operating in the Delaware/Maryland area. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permanent homes. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email. Adoption fees vary based on breed. All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed). We provide a spay or neuter voucher to all of our adopters. &#226&#128&#139 August 19, 2024, 8:52 am

Story
Dog Name: Rocket Breed: Maltese mix Sex: Male Age: 8 Weight: 20 Medical Needs: Totally blind and partially deaf Housebroken: Yes. He will come and find you when he needs to go and walk between you and the door to get your attention. Crate trained: Yes Good in the car: Yes Good on a leash: Yes Energy level: Low Need a fenced in yard: No Dog Friendly: Yes, but prefers them on the calm side. Being trampled is no fun for a little guy. If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No Cat Friendly? Unknown Kid Friendly: Yes. He's enjoyed every kid he has met so far. If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Any with appropriate supervision. Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Rocket is a friendly, calm senior who has a lot of love to give. Don't let his age or the fact that he's totally blind fool you. He learned the lay of the land in his foster home in less than 2 days. He does still struggle getting up and down the steps without guidance, but he's happy to be carried anywhere at anytime, or will follow along on a leash just fine. He has no trouble getting on and off the couch though. He's a quiet guy, usually only barking if he needs to go potty or if another dog startles him. He's not afraid to tell them to back off either, so if you have a reactive dog in the home already, Rocket wouldn't be a good fit. Fosters Location: Dover Application can be found here: https://www.grrde.org/adoption-application (if you already have an approved application on file email GrassRootsDE@gmail.com and ask the app team to pull your app. ##2085949##

Story
Nigel is being fostered in PA. Nigel is a sweet little boy! He loves playing(chewing) toys. 😂 He loves being outside and especially loves walks! He loves to snuggle next to you on the sofa. He is dog and cat friendly. He likes to chase my cats, but he is actually playing with them. He gets very excited when it's time to eat and will stand up on his hind legs and beg. He is very active for 10 years old. He does have impaired vision but gets around very well. Nigel is on drops for dry eye and may need sedation before grooming. He will have a dental prior to adoption. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
